This is really one of my favorite places in Philadelphia, especially when they have their seasonal watermelon sangria. The inside of the restaurant is dim and romantic. This is a great place to bring a date being that you can share and try each others dishes since it is a tapas restaurant. The tables are set up nicely in such a way that you are not too close to strangers. This is important when it comes to date nights. So the food, let me begin by saying that you can literally pick anything on the menu and you really won’t be disappointed. My usuals when I go there are: clams and chorizo, lamb meatballs, any of their flatbreads, clams linguine. The list really does go on, I’ve tried so many things on the menu, always great. Their dessert really does not disappoint either but unfortunately their dessert menu changes, it’s a good thing and bad thing. I had a hazelnut something dessert there one time and just was so amazed by it, but I never saw it again on the menu.

*patatas bravas(omg! My favorite! It’s like mashed potatoes that have been deep fried and now look like tater tots. The sauce on the plate was mildly spicy and complimented the potatoes very well. I could have eaten a bucket of these) *pulpo(the octopus was cooked well, but I think it could have been better if they sliced the octopus afterwards so that the medallions wouldn’t have been as chewy, regardless, I liked the smokey paprika flavor throughout the dish) *tortilla(I thought it was going to a flat tortilla with the aioli sauce but this thing was huge! diced potatoes and eggs wrapping around/containing the potatoes inside; I LOVED the sauce, it was rich and creamy and goes perfect with this«tortilla» haha) *flatbread(yes yes yes!!! the mushrooms and artichokes were amazing, that slice of cheese on top although pungent smelling was quite mild tasting and really gave this flatbread the kick it needed to take it over the top, loved this and could have eaten a few rounds of these) *Iberico(omg!!! WHATDIDTHEYDOTOTHIS?!! sooooooooooooooooo good!!! the meat was unbelievable. sweet and savory and unctuous. words cannot describe the feeling you get when you eat this pork. it melts in your mouth. there are three different sauces that come with it. the creamy green sauce was by far the best one. the chimichurri tasted like Italian dressing and the red peanut sauce was a little strange and did not go too well with the meat. this dish is totally worth every cent!!) *chicken paella(yum! loved the texture of the rice was fabulous and reminded of a risotto. the saltiness of the olives was great. the chicken was slightly dry and it was alright. there was also way too much cilantro on top of the rice; the bread had that fabulous aioli spread on it which was amazing; the size of this dish was fabulous and worth the $$) *homemade gelato(honey canela was so weird, it was supposed to cinnamon-like but I felt like it was more cardamom tasting and definitely not my favorite; pistachio was alright, I felt like the flavor fell flat; date and olive oil was AMAZING!!! by far the best flavor of homemade gelato!!) Amada is a great restaurant. The bird cage is such a great design for booths. Service is wonderful and food is of great quality. It’s on the pricier end but worth it for the entire experience.

Michelle and I took a mini vacay to A.C. during restaurant week. Of course our first stop had to be Amada. $ 33.14 per person for a four course dinner was a no brainer. We chose: Olives Aged nanchego with Lavender Honey — Excellent Gambas Al Ajillo — Must get the garlic shrimp! Croquetas De jambon — nom nom Patatas Bravas — potatoes that would make you slap yo momma Madre E Hijo — Chicken, Fried Egg, Mojanma and truffles — To die for Skirt steak — Cooked to perfection Pastel De Chocolate — Chocolate Cake, Sherry Caramel, Pistachio — «nuff said Tarta De Queso — Cheesecake, Meyer Lemon Sorbet, Shortbread — A fantastic ending Made a reservation through Open Table with no issues. The atmosphere is sexy and the only thing that could have been better was to sit by the windows over looking the Atlantic. oh well next time I’ll have to request it. Service was top notch. Michelle had the White Sangria and I a Spanish beer I cannot remember the name of. It is always a meal to remember whenever we getr a chance to dine at either of the Amada’s.

WOW. The food here is amazing — the quality and quantity is comparable to tapas restaurants I visited in Barcelona. My boyfriend and I got the sampler menu. There was enough food to feed 4+ people, but that did not stop us from trying everything. I couldn’t even break for pictures! My favorites include the Costillas De Ternera(flatbread with beef) and Datiles Con Almendras(dates wrapped in bacon and stuffed with olives… I don’t even like bacon…). But seriously, everything was amazing — even the starter bread and dip. The service(besides the hostess out front) explaining all the dishes and wine pairings(next time we should do this) really added to the experience. The ambiance was also beautiful and romantic, and I love how you could see the chefs cooking.
