I have been coming to atlantic city since 2008. I have never been to Kelsey’s before today and I NOWREGRETIT. This place is amazing. Happy hour specials until 7pm. Half off on apps and martinis. Food is delish and the environment is perfect. Feels very homey. I will now make this spot apart of my AC plans from now on. 5 stars is an understatement.

Got recommended from a coworker to try this place when I come out. I wasn’t able to try the dinner menu yet. This is a review of the Sunday brunch. I got there at 130pm and got seated right away. The waitress was nice and asked if it was my first time, which I said yes. She explained the brunch processed and took my order of sweet iced tea and off I went to grab food. I started with 2 honey biskets and added some turkey gravey on top. I got some bacon and sacauge with some corn and oacrae. Next was some grits and shrimp gravey. They also brought out some fresh fried chicken and Mac and cheese. The food was great. Chicken was nice and crispy. Honey bisket was also good. Mac and cheese was ok. It was good I went back and had seconds. On the other side they had a omelet bar, which I didn’t do. If you do decide to the brunch make sure to get there early before 3 pm. They stop the food around 245pm. Cost of the meal was $ 26 with drink. If I do dinner I’ll also do a review.

Chicken and waffles, chicken and waffles, need I say more. Kelsey Jacksons place is great. The service is friendly and fast! Has great bands on weekends… Check out Darchelle Scott and her band Ascension when you get a chance! It is a predominately Black crowd, but do not be afraid, everyone there is color blind so do not be uncomfortable going into this place. It is an Atlantic City gem

Best soul food I’ve had at an actual Resturant… I grew up on fried chicken, collard greens and yams. This place makes me think of good times with my family. Having drinks music playing in the background, people talking and smiling. The vibes from this place brings joy and genuine hospitality. If you go request ferris he was the best…

I had a horrible experience here the catfish was fried soft and the cornbread was box made. This was my first and last experience. I had a reservation and waited outside the restaurant while they finished a private party nothing on the website disclosed a delay the woman who seated me was rude and unprofessional. It appears to me that this restaurant is resting on its reputation and couldn’t care less about acquiring new patronage

A Delicious Weekend brunch buffet and Tiarra, my awesome waitress made my first trip to Kelsey’s pretty great. The laundry list of rules on the wall when you walk in may seem a little off-putting at first but they’re clear and straight to the point about what should be expected in terms of how the weekend brunch works. About $ 20 for a soul food brunch buffet, sounds more than good to me. The waitress showed me around the buffet and pancake/omelette bar since it was my first time at Kelsey’s and everything looked delicious. Bacon, sausage, honey topped biscuits, sausage gravy, french toast, shrimp and grits, jambalaya, corn on the cob, cabbage, fried catfish, salmon, fried wings, baked chicken, made to order pancakes and omelettes and more. Ordered an Uptown to wash it all down and I’m still full just thinking about it. The relaxed vibe is a nice break from the hectic casino floors and club scene in AC. Definitely check out Kelsey’s if you’re considering it.

Good food, friendly staff, & nice music! We ate here the other night and had a lovely meal. I had the fried chicken, which was good but could’ve used a tad more seasoning, cabbage, sweet tasting and yummy, and the macaroni and cheese. Now I’m the go to person in my family for mac n cheese so I rarely get it when I’m out but I’m glad I did! It was definitely good like homemade! My husband had the smoked ribs, greens, & mac n cheese. He enjoyed all of it except the greens. Our son had the chicken and waffles and enjoyed it. The portion sizes were good and the prices very reasonable! It’s worth checking out! Enjoy!

LEGIT. Went for brunch. Biscuits, grits n shrimp gravy, jambalya, fried chicken, jerk chicken, danishes. No collards but the cabbage(treated as such) were fantastic. Bangin. And a full bar!

My family and I visited Atlantic City for the first time and this restaurant was the first to pop up on the Unilocal page and we decided to check it because of its amazing review. Overall, I feel as though I cannot judge this establishment wholeheartedly because we came here for their sunday brunch and we had only their brunch buffet We love the fried/grilled chicken, that was delicious. I was hoping for more types of greens during their brunch bar because I left feeling very heavy afterwards. Their chili mac and cheese was delicious though, everyone loved that and we also loved the omelet bar that they had! The only downside was the sirloin steak, that was incredibly dry. Overall, God eats and Service was excellent.

This place is a gem. I have come here about 10 times so far and each time it’s like I’m reliving a dream. You ever have one of those places that you crave and crave constantly? Kelsey’s is it. Their friend chicken is amazing. It is juicy and fresh as it isn’t just sitting under a heat lamp waiting for the next guy to make an order. I’ve gotten the grits, Taylor ham, chicken, waffles, fries, collard greens, corn bread, Mac and cheese, ribs, pork chops, sweet potato cheesecake etc. I don’t have a bad thing to say about anything. I have yet to try to fish which looks delicious and will be getting that the next time I go along side a couple wings. It is off the strip in Atlantic city but I have always felt welcome and safe. If you are hesitating… don’t, you won’t be disappointed.

Favorite restaurant of the year for me. This place will make you happy all over. Start with the lovely fluffy corn bread. Washed down by a cup… or 4 of sweet tea.(Just like grandma makes it) huge pieces of fried chicken collard greens are plentiful and Mac n cheese will make you hug somebody. makes for great leftover after a long night of AC shenanigans

One Of The Best Soul Food Restaurants In NJ ! Kelsey’s definitely exceeded my expectations. Came here during AC Restaurant Week back in March and really had a great experience. My boyfriend and I came on a Friday night around 8, right before the place got crowded. We got seated quickly, but I would suggest making a reservation. The food was super delicious ! We had the shrimp and grits appetizer, 2 soups, a fried pork chop meal with Mac n cheese and collard greens, and a fried fish meal with yams and cabbage all for under $ 100. We were beyond satisfied and had enough to take back to our room. When I go back to AC I will be coming here again.

My man and I had the most amazing meal/experience here! We wanted something out of the ordinary and Unilocal led us here. As soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted by a few staff members and given a choice of tables. We both definitely noticed the super cool, friendly vibe immediately. Although there was no live music while we were there I can definitely see how this is a cool spot to listen to live music. We started with a sampler that included calamari, bang bang shrimp, and barbecue chicken tenders. The shrimp were definitely the stand out, as I’m convinced bang bang shrimp is the food of the gods. The menu truly has something for everyone. My dining companion ordered spare ribs, and I opted for the crab cakes. While the entrees were both fabulous we agreed our favorite part were the sides. Entrees come with two sides, and it was very difficult choosing, but alas I think I made the right decisions! Those collard greens. spicy, smoky, little bits of turkey lurking about, perfect. But those candied yams though. One of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted. In no way should it be considered a vegetable as it tasted more like a dessert. But dear lord, they were phenomenal. I had a bite of my date’s mac and cheese which was creamy heavy cheesy super dense perfection. We didn’t want to leave after this wonderful dinner so we hung out for a few drinks. The bar is expansive and has lots of good choices. I played it safe with a nice dry red, and my date threw back about five Ketel One and Red Bulls. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how wonderful and attentive our waiter was. So friendly! And I noticed other servers having similar interactions with everyone else. As cliché as it sounds, Kelaey’s felt like home! If my home cooked mind blowing soul food, which unfortunately it does not. But if you are looking for a unique and kick ass dining experience in AC, look no further!

I have had my share of soul food places. Kelsey’s is in the upper tier of soul food places I have eaten at. The parking can be tricky and they have a very small parking lot. So you would have to park on the street and feed the meter. I went on a weekday in the winter time so I had no issues. When we walking in Kelsey’s we were greeted with a warming hello by the hostess who was an absolute sweet heart. She seated us quickly. And our waitress was amazing as well. The walking to be seated it was pretty busy and I was eyeing all the food in which all of the plates looked amazing! The whiting and friend chicken looked like that was going to be what I was going to order. Was a tough decision but I did order the fried chicken and pork ribs for appetizer. My cousin ordered the beef ribs. Patiently waiting for our food to come we had conversations with the table next to us who was very friendly. Smoked rib appetizer were fall off the bone delicious. You tasted the smoke in the rib and they were very tender. The entrees comes out and the portions were nice size. My plate was the fried chicken. That fried chicken was very crispy and juicy and was seasoned deliciously. With a side of mac and cheese and collard greens. The beef ribs were tender and had a nice flavor to them. Definitely would order the chicken again. All in all a great spot to eat off the boardwalk. With great service, good food and great prices. Kelsey’s is a definite must when you visit AC.

Had dinner here with my valentine and another couple on Sunday nite: Valentine’s Day. They had a special menu for the day. A lot of their regular menu items and some extras: like lobster tail, stuffed lobster tail.(not on the usual menu). @ 7:30– they were sold out of the prime rib. That was ok. I had the smothered pork chops. Hubby had the ribs. On our table: we had lobster tail and catfish. Loved the smothered pork chops. My husband felt the ribs too smoky for his taste. I, however loved their tenderness & sauce. The sides: all delicious, you feel they are small in portion, because you want more, they’re that good. But they are adequate portions for a meal.(that much goodness, in larger portions, contributes to US obesity problems) In fact: I loved the sides so much, wish I could’ve brought home a plate of just sides. I’ve yet to mention the live band. We made reservations and were seated just 5 ft in front of the stage. Great view of everything: without the drums in your ear during your conversations. The band was great!: jazzy, horns, keyboard, dual guitar/bass. And your lounge singer who had a great voice, but seemed a bit ‘pickled’. Not too loud, added greatly to the atmosphere. The drinks: I had their«watermelon Long Island ice tea». Great flavor– and 2 put me to sleep! Wow! It was such a great experience that the couple we brought, are making plans to visit again. And we live 3 hrs away. And are not gamblers. Loved it! Definitely a must stop when in Atlantic City.

This place was amazing! The entire atmosphere of the place was great. I went with my wife and in-laws. My father in law had a reservation and we were seated immediately. The wait staff was great. Took I order the Authentic Slow Smoked Ribs. They were delicious. The ribs were not overcooked, nice and tender. My mac and cheese and collard greens were just as good as the entrée. Overall I couldn’t have been happier with my meal. I think the real treat was the live music. Having the live music completely changed the atmosphere of the place. Kelsey’s just came alive. The amount of energy from the band and crowd was electric. Overall a great place when you visit Atlantic City.

Soul food brunch, yes please! Saw all the reviews on Unilocal and made a point to visit. Reservation was easy thru seat me on the Unilocal app(first time trying this). Made it just 1.5 hrs ahead. We got there at noon, and it was already packed, but no wait and the hostess greeted us with a warm hug and explained the $ 19.99 brunch. On sundays, they bring out menus at 4:00pm. Our server was really polite and attentive. I think his name is Ferris? My faves are the fried chicken, grits & gravy, red velvet waffles w/cream cheese, cajun fish. Everything was well seasoned. We didn’t try the omelet station but that looked good, too. We were too stuffed to order the fried whiting catfish, but wished we did. You’d have to ask your server if you want it bc it’s made to order and still included in the brunch price. The place has a lot of seating, a big bar and TVs. All the diners seem to enjoy their food. Great for families!
