I will definitely have to say that this is one of the best burgers that we have had in Philly. We ordered the Whiskey king and their regular burger. The whiskey king, while good and unique in flavors, was way too heavy. I feel like I am brewing a heart attack if I ate the whole thing. Their regular burger is probably a better alternative.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday morning. It was pretty empty and service was pretty fast. I thought it was a little too much to have an extremely dim restaurant with lit candles so early in the day tho. I had the Eggs Benedict, an order of Duck Fat Fries, and my cousin got the Short Rib Skillet. The food was pretty good! We started with the duck fat fries. I wish the order was a bit bigger tho! My eggs benedict was delicious, especially since it was made with crab cakes. Yum! The braised short ribs were very juicy and flavorful. The only downside to this place were our drinks. I saw on my bill that I was charged for 3 glasses of $ 4 non-alcoholic lemonades. Had I known that they were non-refillable I would’ve asked for Jersey tap water instead.

3.5 stars. The menu is pretty small but it has some very creative appetizers and drink selections. For the main course burgers and sandwiches are pretty much the only option but everything we got was great. We ordered pickled cauliflower, deviled eggs, a chicken avocado sandwich and a BBQ pulled pork sandwich. We also got an order of the duck fat fries. I liked everything and the service was great, but it is pretty expensive for what you get. That meal with one drink each costed us $ 96 for lunch. It’s definitely an interesting/fun place to try but if I’m going to be spending that kind of money I would like a little better quality.

Great décor, friendly waiter and truly flavorful food! There’s a lot of whiskey to choose from and you can never really go wrong with Jose Garces. I had the duck fat fries with ribs and cheddar– WOW! The ribs were soft and pulled apart well, the cheddar was sharp but not overpowering, and the fries are some of the best I’ve had in recent memory.

Village Whiskey is an awesome choice for anyone in the AC area who is looking for a great meal and a cool atmosphere. The restaurant is relatively tight when you get inside but the seating is such that you don’t feel on top of the other guests. The food is excellent, each time. I normally order the village burger(medium well) with the duck fat fries. The fries are to die for and are a must-have when dining here. They’re also big enough to share with another person. The only complaint I have is that due to the size of the restaurant and the fact that it’s in Revel casino it can sometimes get noisy. Other than that Village Whiskey is a sure bet and I highly recommend trying it.

An okay little restaurant, but methinks this location doesn’t hold a candle to the one in Philly. Service was slow here even though we were one of the only tables. The whiskey and bourbon selection was obviously killer, but that kind of goes without saying. I personally would opt for Amada or Distrito over this one.

Michelle and I took a mini vacay to A.C. during restaurant week. Of course lunchstop had to be Village Whiskey. $ 15.14 per person for a three course lunch was a no brainer. We chose: Herbed Tomatoes with house made Whipped Ricotta — Excellent Deviled Eggs — ok Village Burgers — A ok Duck Fat Fries with Sly Fox Cheddar Sauce — They could have been so much better but sat and watched them sit in the window for over 10 minutes before they were brought to our table I started with a Bloody Mary that was spicy and strong(but like $ 14) and Michelle unsweetened Ice Tea. Service was spotty and overall it was good. Might have to try for Happy Hour.

I cannot wait to come back to this place. We sat at the bar and watched the bartenders make drinks the whole time, and boy, is it like an art here. I mean, I’ve never seen bartenders make drinks this meticulously before and it was great to watch. Our bartenders were John, Joe, and Mickey and they were phenomenal. I watched Micky crack multiple eggs and carefully drain the whites into a glass to make whiskey sours. Joe lined glasses with slices of cucumbers before adding a concoction of tequila and other things to make one of the most refreshing drinks I’ve ever tasted. They peeled fruit in front of us and lined glasses with all sorts of sweet drizzles, it was really fun to watch. We ordered 6 east coast oysters and 6 west coast oysters, and I think I prefer the east coast oysters. John was really helpful in describing the difference to us before we even ordered. Then I had one of the yummiest burgers ever while my husband had a pulled bbq pork sandwich that he demolished. I experienced my first pickleback shot(one shot of pickle juice and one shot of jameson) and enjoyed it so much we ordered more. We actually had quite a few drinks here LOL. This place is pretty awesome with great service, food, drinks, and bartenders!

Jose Garces is a Philly Restauranteur Icon at this point. I’ve eaten at almost all his places at least twice and for good reason. This time I was in Atlantic City enjoying a nice weekend at the shore. My friend and I decided to have a casual night at the Village Whiskey at the Revel Casino. This place definitely has the same character of the one in Philly, but is a little less gritty(and I mean that in a good way towards Philly). The menu’s practically the same, with 3 less whiskey selections, and I think the appetizers are a little different(no cheese plate) but the food and cocktails are delicious anyway. I had the veggie burger this time with the duck fat fries — absolutely delicious. I’ve had the regular burger before, but I decided to do something different this time around. My friend got the burger. We also had desert — which was simple delicious too. We had the chocolate chip cookie and red velvet milkshake. Our server was a bit too overbearing and interrupted our conversation servers times at this location, even though we didn’t need him for the most part. Other than that, it was a decent experience. This place is a definite must go for lovers of solid bar food. The presentation is simple, but the favors are elegant. Good apps, sandwiches and burgers, and deserts(if you have room).

I had a great dinner with a friend. The staff was awesome and accommodating. They were not afraid to make recommendations off the menu. I ordered off the restaurant week menu. Everything was great. I had the fried shrimp for an appetizer and a chicken sandwich for my main meal. Check out the pics to see the meals.

Maybe the best burger I’ve had, but I need to make the rounds again to some other favorites before carving that in stone. The Village burger($ 14) is a classic with bibb lettuce, tomato, thousand island dressing, and brioche bun. I added caramelized onions to mine for an extra $ 1.5. I was worried when the burger came out, as it was a thick patty and I prefer my burger to have a balanced flavor as apposed to a mouth full of meat. I should not have worried. The patty had a good char to it, but was also soft. It was seasoned well and blended with the other ingredients of the sandwich perfectly. The duck fat fries were excellent. Thick cut steak fries. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The more I think about these fries, the more I think that they might just be the best fries I’ve had. I tried some cheese puffs that I think were a special appetizer that night. The cheese was good, but I thought this was a bit of a throw away dish. The message I got was clear: come here for burgers and fries. I will be back, but probably to the Philadelphia location. By the way, I just noticed that the prices are a couple of dollars cheaper at the Philadelphia location. Next time I will try the big one: the Whisky King(burger with maple bourbon glazed onions, bleu cheese, applewood bacon, and foie gras… $ 28) UPDATE: I’ve tried the Whisky King. While it IS very good, I think I prefer the Village Burger. Drinks were inventive, and there is an extensive whiskey list, but I thought the prices were higher than what they are worth. Our service hasn’t been the greatest consistently, we have waited quite a while for drinks and have been forgotten about when we were waiting for our check. Here was a band playing while we’re were there. Their sound was mixed inappropriately, the sound and volume did not fit with the space. This is always a pretty loud place, which is a little odd, since it looks like such a small spot. This place is almost 5 stars, but needs a couple changes to get there. The burger and fries get 5 stars though.

We had checked in at Revel after a long ride to Atlantic City, and looking for a place to it. Funny that every restaurant at Revel was closed between lunch and dinner time. Village Whiskey was the only place that was opened so we decided to give it a shot. The waiter had mentioned that they’re known for their burgers, so I decided to try the Village Burger. It was a huge burger and I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish it, but it was so good, I didn’t leave a single bite. It was excellent and one of the better burgers I had in a long time. Also try the Duck Fat Fries. They were awesome, and I left craving for more. Service was very good. I like the dark«old school» atmosphere.

When we visited Revel, our only set plan was to take my bourbon loving boyfriend to Village Whiskey. Our plan was to have a nice big fancy dinner. We made reservations and got there a little early. Our table wasn’t ready yet, so we waited a few minutes, but were seated pretty quick after that. Our waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable. We asked his opinion on a couple of bourbons and the mixed cocktails — to see what we might like. He gave recommendations and we were both pleased with what we got. I got a small cocktail that was presented to me as ‘it tastes like a creamsicle.’ First sip and I had to agree. It was strong, though. It took me the entire meal to get through it. I got the pulled pork sandwich and we split an order of the duck fat fries. My boyfriend got the shrimp and grits. The food was so good. The ambiance was nice — we had a great corner booth that let us scope out our section of the restaurant. It’s an expensive place, but you get what you pay for. We had a great time there and will definitely go again.

I was in Atlantic City with some friends for the MMA fight, and we had some time to kill before the fight so we were exploring the various bars/eateries in Revel. After a very disappointing experience at the cantina, we headed to Village Whiskey in hopes of a better time. They had happy hour specials posted at the door, so we took a seat at the bar and ordered up. Based on my experience at the cantina, the service here was superb. The bartender was friendly enough, but we sat for a while before she acknowledged us. Between the three of us, we had oysters, duck-fat fries, and sliders. I’m not a fan of oysters, but my friend said they were great so I’ll take her word for it. The fries were OK, but I just don’t get the whole duck-fat craze… maybe my palate isn’t sophisticated enough, but I just can’t taste that big of a difference. The slider was good, and surprisingly filling… nice and thick, not just a paper thin piece of beef. Beers were good and cold, and at $ 4 each, not bad for the casino. Of all the places we tried at Revel, this was probably the best, for both service and quality of food.

I’ve been a fan of the Philly location since it’s opening, and the argument of «best burger» in Philly is easily won by the accompiament of the duckfat fries and the amazing whiskey selections. In AC, the sevice is a little slow, with a couple of the menu options are being a little different, but its got one huge plus over philly: its bigger and there’s room to sit at any given time. Amazing burger, perfect whiskey selections and no standing room only experience??? could an AC casino outpost of a center city favorite really surpass the original? Next time there’s an hour plus wait for a table on Sansom street, I’m going to seriously consider racing down the AC expressway for the burger here!

Wandering around the Revel this past weekend we were trying to decide on which place to eat but many had a long wait. When we saw Village Whiskey we decided to give it a shot and were seated immediately. So glad we did as this place rocks! Loved the atmosphere as the design and décor reminds one of a speakeasy as it’s dimly lit, retro-Edison lighting, subway tiled walls, worn looking mirrors, and there was even old time music playing when we entered(even though it switched to modern rock and pop later on). Even though not overly spacious there is plenty of booth seating for large groups and single tables for couples. Large candle lit bar area. You can tell some solid thought was put into designing this place. Also, we were seated across the open kitchen and it was cool to watch the chefs at work. Every plate looked wonderful that was put up. The bourbon list here is terrific, along with the scotch, whiskey, and rye offerings. Nice selection of craft style beers. Small wine selection. Nifty cocktail list that we decided upon and had the Bee Charmer and a Whiskey Sour. Had to be one of the best Whiskey Sours I have had in a long time! It was a perfect prescription to cure the hangover I was nursing! The food was delish! What more can I say? Great burger that was huge, awesome duck fat fries with a cheese dip, well made fish & chips, and a blondie buttterscotch brownie that we shared and fought over. Oh, and we started with a terrific pickled appetizer of golden beets and jicama. Stuffed after this meal. Is it a bit pricey here? Sure, but remember this is a celebrity chef place in a casino. You go here to have fun and treat yourself with a good meal. Plus, the service was impeccable. Our waiter Luis was great and really offered perfect suggestions. Even the manager came over a few times to chat with us about the drinks and to see if we enjoyed our meal. I never mind paying a little extra to be treated so well. This place is the shizz! Iron Chef Jose Garces did it right here!

Ate here for lunch. They had a lunch special — choose two items for $ 16. I got the deviled eggs and Village burger. My parents had the Herb Cherry pickles and Village burger. The deviled eggs were pretty good. The burger was good — not great though. I compare burgers to the BGR Joint in MD. Maybe I was expecting too much because of the good reviews on Unilocal. Also, don’t bother with the herb cherry pickles. The Duck fat fries were good. They should offer some dipping sauces instead of just boring ketchup like how they serve it at Bourbon Steak in DC.

We came for the burgers. As they were highly recommended by some friends. I think Im spoiled at home. The burgers were pretty good but I dont think Id rush back for one. However, the rest of what I tried I would definitly return soon for… Duck fat fries, with Short rib & cheddar sauce. these were delicious. Also had a chance to try out the pickled beets app which was another great item. That came with some bread, an olive tapenade and whipped ricotta. The service was great. Waiters knew the dinner menu as well as the liquor menu very well and were able to provide us with alot of information, suggestions, etc. Overall, 3.5 for the burger. 4.5 for the other items, bar offerings and service.

3.75 Craft Beers. Wide selection of whiskey. Friendly, prompt service. Skip the PRAWNCOCKTAIL, it wasn’t worth $ 14, nor was it fresh either. Definitely try the DUCKFATFRIES and at least with the Sly Fox Cheddar Sauce. Two thumbs up. Potato-y on the inside, crunchy on the outside, served pipping hot out of the frier.

If you told me I’d have an awesome burger at Revel Resort in Atlantic City, I wouldn’t have believed you. One of the best burgers I have ever had in my life. Seriously. I had the Village Burger with bacon and cheddar cheese. My boyfriend and I split the duck fat fries. So necessary. The burger will set you back at least $ 14(that’s how much the basic burger is) but if you add toppings, expect the burger to cost you at least $ 20. But still very worth it.
