Came for happy hour and had a great time. I think our bartender’s name was Sam. She wore glasses and was fantastic. Attentive, personable, and suggested some great cocktails. I was having too much fun to pay attention to the rest of the joint but it seemed a little fancy so you probably shouldn’t come straight from the beach. I was fine in a t-shirt and jeans but I did have to take my hat off.

I went here today, the food was fine, but I only ordered an appetizer. Their prices are insane, $ 24 for penne vodka??? I’ve never heard of that, EVER. But the appetizer was good, its just way too expensive. Service is good and fast, you’re seated immediately too which is nice. The décor is cute and your view is the casino in some spots. Just bad pricing gets it a 3 star. Forget about getting an entrée unless you want to spend $ 35 per person.

My friends and I came here before we head out to HQ. My friend and I arrived a little late because we were still getting ready, so of course, by the time we ordered our friends were already eating, which was fine! I’m not sure if the food was just bad or of the chef rushed, but you can’t rush pastas because they need to be boiled for an x amount of time. I got a chicken penne vodka and my friend got a clams linguine. We shared them, but the pastas were rather hard. They weren’t even«al dente.» They were just not ready. The server have us the food very quickly but the pastas weren’t satisfying. Because we wanted to go back to the hotel room to pregame, we didn’t want to send the order back and wait double the time. The environment and service were very nice and friendly, but the food can be improved.

Not only was the food over priced for a Casino going bankrupt but the food was absolutely terrible. I order Sea Bass, I literally got an over cooked piece of Salmon(Not kidding!) They«swapped» it out for an equally poor veal dish. My wife ordered a side of Garlic spinach. She got a bowl of flavorless spinach thrown in a bowl. A glass of house Pino was $ 15.00. It was literally measured at 2 fingers. The final damage was $ 208.00 and I will NEVER dine at LUGO. I don’t care if they rename it. relocate it or close it. The Chef should be fired immediately!

I was hosting a work function dinner for 9 here and Lugo came through for me. I don’t get all the rough reviews! I guess I got lucky(I didn’t in the Revel casino-just at Lugo). The staff was nice enough to seat of us even though 2 of our party were very late. Great wine list and drink menu. We all shared a few starters and everyone enjoyed. They included the beef carpaccio, Lugo chopped salad and housemade mozzarella platter. For mains the table had a wide variety but the highlights were the chicken parmigiana and my Branzino. It was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had as it was full of flavor. The only disappointment was that 3 people at the table wanted short ribs and they were out. Our server was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. I actually felt like our table was receiving VIP service. I would go back to Lugo again either as a work dinner or personal dinner.

The only reason I’m even giving 2 stars is because of the service and the drinks. The food was horrible! We were staying in revel and wanted Italian food, figured since all other restaurants in revel are amazing that lugo would be too… WRONG!!! Both me and my boyfriend got pasta. The penne vodka and the bolognese. IDK how an Italian restaurant can slaughter two signature dishes as they did… I swear it was comparable to the one time i warmed up spaghetti-O’s! Revel should have lugo removed! Don’t waste a dime of your money unless you are going there for drinks only, in which case you should still go to one of the many other bars there.

Definitely being generous with two stars, only because the atmosphere was nice at the restaurant. Otherwise, this is by far the worst italian food I’ve ever had — you’d be better off going to a local pizzeria. I was definitely surprised by how bad the food was, especially since every other restaurant in Revel is amazing. I don’t know how Revel can even support keeping a restaurant like this in their casino when every other dining experience is phenomenal.

4 stars solely because they have a great happy hour M-F from 4 – 7. It’s only available at the bar. We liked –the shrimp scampi, although the portion is on the smaller side. –The tartufo pizza(prosciutto and truffle oil) wasn’t bad, I thought it could’ve used a little more time in the over to crisp. This is great to share –The meatballs. two large, flavorful meatballs with marinara sauce. –Caesar Salad, lots of shaved parmesan. very crispy romaine –3 dollar 16 – 22 oz draft beers. –Service– very attentive. Bleh: I’d skip their fritto misto– overly fried, hard to stomach. The whole bar menu is half off, so if I ever get a chance, I’d come back to try more.

Decent Italian food with nice atmosphere. This place is right on the edge of the casino floor. If you get a table farther in there isn’t much noise pollution. The bread is freshly baked, taking a little longer than I think most customers would prefer. There’s a great selection of wine to go with any meal. I picked the salmon since I wasn’t really feeling pasta for tonight. It was well cooked but didn’t particularly stand out. The vegetables were alright, again also not standing out. My wife had the vodka penne. It was a good portion and the sauce was really hearty. Not absolutely outstanding, but a solid dish. Overall Lugo doesn’t particularly stand out. If you’d like to have a decent Italian style meal this would be a place that works for that.

Lugo is located in Revel. I was promptly seated. My waitress was friendly but seemed rushed. I tried to order 3 different glasses of wine but was told they were out If the first three. Finally my fourth choice they had. I ordered the Caesar Salad which was fresh and crisp. I also ordered the $ 8.99 lasagna special. It was good. The portion was sized accordingly given the price. I did not leave hungry. While the food was good it just wasn’t great and I think there is no reason to be out of 3 different types of wines. I would pick a different restaurant next time.

I’d like to give Lugo another try as it’s an attractive, open and inviting space for dining just off the gaming floor at Revel Casino. Stopped in for a bite after noticing a very good happy hour deal for drinks and food. When we sat down, the bartenders were overwhelmed and struggling with a sudden happy hour surge. Nevertheless, we got in our order and sat at a comfortable bar table. We were brought fresh bread and olive oil. The bread is that softer, South Jersey Italian bread. We ordered meatballs, which were hard and very mediocre, Caesar Salad which was tasty and large, although a bit more lemony than I’m used to, and the fried shrimp/calamari/zucchini appetizer, which was good, yet the first thing I think I bit into was a deep fried lemon wedge? That was really random, guys. The happy hour price was definitely reasonable. but I would likely pass on paying full price for the food I received. My first impression is that Lugo is sort of a ‘pizzeria plus’ type of restaurant, perhaps trying some other dishes might move my rating higher in the future.

We had high hopes for this restaurant. I really, really wanted to like this place. Honest. We were seated right away, we had a reservation. Fifteen minutes later they came to our table and asked us for our drinks. Another fifteen minutes had passed and the drinks came, few minutes later the bread. Then the order taking. The appetizer didn’t come until almost an hour after we were seated. The entrée? Forget about it. It was two hours. Crazy. And the funny thing was, there was a bigger group that came second before us but their service went pretty fast, or I’d say normal. It wasn’t even that packed! All in all we spent almost 3hours at Lugo and left unhappy. The food? Tasty but not great, not amazing. The margherita pizza was blah, the salmon steak was dry. I’ve already forgotten what our other appetizers were… the only thing memorable was the steak and its reduction. The desserts, can’t remember. And this happened just less than 3 weeks ago. The one star is for the sweet lady that had to refill all our water glasses. I had SEVEN water glasses in the entire evening. On top my cocktail. My lovely friends were the only thing that kept me there. We had already put a credit card with the reservation and they will still charge us if we up and left. I did have an amazing time though –but Lugo had nothing to do with it. I was in great company and that’s all it was. I am never coming back.

I had a hard time deciding what to eat for dinner while staying at Revel. I looked at different menus throughout the hotel. It was hard choosing but I decided on Lugo. I dined during happy hour. There was bar food and drink specials from 5 to 7pm. After you’re seated, a staff member brings warm bread with olive oil to your table. Lugo bread is tasty, crisp outside with a warm soft middle. I ordered the fried zucchini(appetizer), meatballs, and shrimp scampi. Lugo fried zucchini was excellent. Thinly sliced and fried to a nice crisp. My meatball was cooked well and moist. Lugo house marinara sauce was flavorful and complimented the meatballs very well. I’m glad I chose the meatballs because they were delicious. The shrimp scampi was average. I ordered a whiskey sour which was prepared well and tasty. It took a very long time for my entrée to arrive after I finished my appetizer. Service at the bar could use some tuning up. The bartender wasn’t very attentive(not crowded at the bar). The ambience was nice. Lugo is a solid choice for Italian food in Revel but the service could improve. I give Lugo a 2.5 rating rounded up to a 3.

we stayed at Revel for my birthday and had to come here since it was the Italian restaurant in the hotel :) the fresh mozzarella was amazing. I loved those green tomatoes! they also had my favorite wine the Moscato which made my night, really why don’t all Italian restaurants carry that? then the penne alla vodka I had was amazing. it was so good my fiancé kept stealing my food! after he finished his food. it was just a perfect birthday dinner.

Damn, 2.5 stars is a bit harsh, no? Regardless, my girlfriends and I dined at Lugo and absolutely loved it. The waiter was not only exceptionally professional, but very polite and kind to our group. I had told him my drink didn’t taste right(probably my fault since I ordered such a complicated mess of a drink) but he fixed it anyway by bringing a replica — only stronger, tastier and fabulous. They bring you a hearty amount of bread before the meal, along with dipping oil. It was perfect. Whatever you end up ordering, make sure to also try the Caprese(green and red tomato with mozzarella cheese) appetizer. It was AMAZING. We ended up ordering another round because we couldn’t get enough of it. … along with the Lobster Mezzaluna(ravioli stuffed with lobster and corn), Filet Mignon(do I need to explain this?) and Chicken Parm(read previous description). There was so much food and we ate every last ounce. Fat-tipped the waiter… and off we go. Four girls who are happily stuffed and full of alcohol in Atlantic City? You can figure out what happened next. Thank you, Lugo!

To start, the bread was warm, soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. It was very good. The margherita pizza was sub par, it was pretty bland and could have used a lot more basil. For an entrée, I had the pesto. The flavor was good and the dish was a bit different than what I’ve had in the past. The herbs making up the sauce were pulverized to the point of almost being a thin soup without any solids(this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, just not what I am used to). My only complaint with the pasta is that I was pretty hungry, and could have used more on the plate for the price I was paying. I ordered some gin cocktail that was sickeningly sweet, I would not order that again. I should have ordered wine. The atmosphere and service seemed inappropriate for the type of restaurant. First of all, we could hear the noise of slot machines from where we were sitting. The tables were also very close to the point of talking over the table next to you in order to hear people at your table. The service seemed disinterested in our table. The food at Lugo wasn’t bad, but wasn’t really what I was looking for. The menu is small, which usually isn’t a bad thing, but I had trouble finding something that looked really good. I was happy enough with my entrée, but wasn’t really wowed buy the entire experience. I suppose I am picky about Italian food, and it wasn’t my choice to come to this restaurant. It was way too expensive for a meal that I could have gotten at any one of thousands of places in South Jersey. If I ever come back to the revel, I’ll have to insist that we eat at Whiskey Village.

My buddies and I took a break after losing lots o cash at the tables to have some dinner at Lugo. We called(from the casino floor) about an hour earlier and snagged a table rezzie, which apparently is a tough thing to do here. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. OK, food time… + Mozzarella in «Carrozza” — I’ve seen this before as a sort of mozz and bread combo, but this guy looked like a gigantic mozz stick and was amazeballs. Serious, if you took 6 of your fav mozz sticks and smushed them into one mushed ball and then fried said ball, you would have this dish. Win. Also, someone should do that, like now. + Ahi tuna tartar– served with some cucumbers and mystery sauce it was solid. Fresh tuna with some crunchy flakes is always a winner. + Baby arugula salad w/green apples and gongonzola. A great salad. Sour apples, bitter arugula and creamy gorgonzola are a fantastic combo. + Side of veggies $ 8: 8 buck cup o veggies is lame, but they were good. Other orders… Can’t vouch for the taste of the chicken parmigiana, although it was HUGE, or the penne vodka, but the rest of the table seemed happy and cleaned their plates. The only knock was that we had some pretty slow service. To be fair, the place was packed and we were a table of 10, so it was expected. I would eat here again(provided American Cut is booked or closed).

First of all, I love Revel. While walking around aimlessly, a lot of the places were starting to stop serve food because it was getting late. Lugo happily took us in. People I were with had all different mixed feelings about the place. I tried a little bit of everything and overall I approve! The bread they serve you is delish, two diff kinds plus breadsticks all with a yummy olive oil. So they have these awesome pizzas. Don’t let the price deter you, they’re huge! The best ones hands down are the prosciutto with arugula and the 4 cheese(pecorino, parmigiano, robiola, ricotta). Holy yum for both. Crispy and justt. I don’t know, crack. Someone got the mushroom pizza and another got the sausage pizza. Meh. Pass. They didn’t like it and I didn’t either. It was soggy and all the toppings just slid right off. I think it’s the tomato sauce that ruins the bread part. Other people enjoyed their pasta and chicken dishes. I’d come back just for those two pizzas!. and to hang out in the casino ;)

I knew this was going to happen. When a popular NYC restaurant goes to another state, will the restaurant have the same following? I’m reading these reviews, what are you expecting, a $ 9.99 all you can eat Italian buffet? Stupid tourists, I should slap you upside the head. No! This is a NYC transplant, the food is NOT an all you can eat place. If your from Delaware and your expecting Olive Garden, this is not the place for you. The pasta here is homemade. The meatballs? Braised for hours. The pizza? Its not frozen baby, its freshly made. I ordered the Rigatonii Alla Bolognese this afternoon for lunch. This dish was cooked perfectly. The pasta shapes were different from NYC but its still the same taste and flavors. Remember, this is an Italian trattoria with traditional Italian meals. If you want something fun? I haven’t had it here but I did have it in NYC. The mozzarella cheese sampler is to die for. I saw it on the menu but my family wasn’t with me to knock it out. This is a fun restaurant. Enjoy it Jersey!

Went here with my Angel this past weekend. I had to find a place that matched this radiant classy woman on my arm. and Lugo about fit the bill. Star off because the bartender did everything she could to make this a bad. She could not kill our mood though so we simply worked around her. Lugo as a note your bartender should not be telling people the drinks are too expensive, the panna cotta is not up to here standards and all her other little issues. Now back to our regularly scheduled review. We sat at the bar, she had wine, I had a Negroni. We ordered the Lugo tasting board. The drinks were veery good and the tasting was wonderfull. Three cheeses, three salumis/cured meats and all the fixings. The menu looked very good for a casual Italian bistro or Tratorria. Well done Revel, we will be back.
