Fantastic room, breakfast, and staff. Really enjoyed staying here after a long day of driving. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you for the wonderful stay!!!

There is nothing like a car breakdown in a foreign town hundreds of miles from home on a Sunday, that also happens to be fathers day. We hitched a ride with a nice church lady who brought us to the nearest hotel(this one). We were greeted by Lizi. This person made all the difference. She not only allowed us to cool off with some refreshments in the lounge while waiting for an available room, she gave me a number to a local mechanic(The Shop Mike Hansen), who now too has his first glowing review on Unilocal! In as few words as possible I can not stress what a value she is to your organization. However, before I get to her, I would like to tell you a little about me. I happen to know a thing or two about hotels. I live in Chicago and worked for Hilton Hotels for 5 years. I was promoted each and every year. I was elected by the IL Dept of Hotels and Lodging Assoc for Manager of the Year,(All hotels in Chicago). I was the second employee to be nominated for this competition in 30 years of my hotels existence(Hilton Ohare was my base). The first employee made it to the big show but did not win. I did win. I was then nominated to compete for Manager of the Year(All hotels in State of IL) I won that too. That being said lets move on to Lizi. She is every bit ready for a Management role, a supervisor role would be a waste of a great asset. She has much to offer. All of the basic front of house do’s and don’ts that I would want my staff to adhere to, I saw in here. She nailed it. Hospitality is your business not a hotel, you will go farther and do better if you and all your staff acknowledge and remember that. The hotel business is a people business and Lizi is a people person. Lizi has what it takes to run several hotels. Consider her for task force team, perhaps one that opens new locations and trains the first team members it will help set the bar and help Super 8’s overall growth with the right people, more people like Lizi or trained by Lizi in place. This part is for Lizi, you are worth more than you know. Allow your employer time to see your worth and recognize you for it. If they don’t, its time for you to fly. Stay in the hotel business you will go far with or without Super 8. They need you, not the other way around, remember that! You are always in control of your destiny. I started at Hilton at entry level and made it here blowing out 2,600 other Managers.

This is pretty much the only place to stay in town. It is old and a little shabby, but it is clean and the people are friendly. Expedia messed up our reservations, but Kathee, at the front desk, went above and beyond to get everything straightened out. Breakfast was good with several hot and cold choices. I will stay here again next time I am in Atlantic.
