Inconsistent food quality and surprisingly incompetent and/or uncaring service were the main things I noticed after giving them repeated chances. I tried contacting owners in Stockton and never could reach them,

We go here for supper about 2 times per month. The food is great American home cooking. There service here really stands out! Ever time I am amazed at how friendly and happy all the waiters are. If you drink gets low they instantly fill it up for you. I would recommend this Dennys for a great relaxing meal.

Real good food, but the service super sucks. If you are limited on time DON’T COMEHERE. It takes forever to get anyone to take your order, deliver your drinks, deliver you food. The last time I was here my mozzarella sticks were left out so long the cheese was no longer hot and stringy, and my main meal was not even like warm. It took well over 90 minutes to get in and out, and there were only like 4 other tables occupied.

Food is delicious, but the service is horrible. From the spanish speaking manager to the waitress, the Spanish speaking one with heavy accent and the older short woman. And this was on two separate occasions within a week. Our last straw was the waitress asked if we need to split our bill, we said yes please. And she rolled her eyes and let out a loud«ugghh». Like seriously, why even ask then. The one star is just for the food. I do not and will never reccomend this location. I live right around the corner, but from now on I’ll be driving the 10 mins to Merced location.

Ordered the French toast slam. French toast was soggy and the sausage was pink in the middle and was cold. It wasn’t very good. The people next to me had a daughter that got rotten milk(chocolate and white). Not sure who is running this joint but I will never come back.

Dirty cold food, my salad had lint on it. the heater never works it’s always cold and the employees are lazy I had to beg for a coffee refill. The prices are great but the food is flavorless. I do love the coffee it’s excellent This is a great place to hang out if you have a big jacket and love coffee. I don’t recommended this location.

The worst service and food I’ve ever had at a Denny’s. This place gives Denny’s a bad name. It’s absolutely horrible. I wouldn’t recommend anybody to eat here. This place needs new management and a overhaul of staff. Will never eat here again I’ll make the 10 min drive to Denny’s in merced.

We went here last week on a friday and everything was super good! I got the bourbon Chicken and my hubby got the loaded potato Chicken skillet. He loved it! We came here this Sunday and everything was subpar. They were out of the queso sauce for the loaded Chicken potato??? And no one said anything until all our other food was being delivered so two of our party had to wait for them to make them a different entrée. My bourbon Chicken was dry with almost no sauce. I got a mixture of mushy and hard broccoli with burned potatoes. The French fries were good as was my mother in laws burger. Our waitress was very polite and courteous. But the food overall was blah.

My family and I went there to eat some lunch on Christmas day. Our waiter was very rude and she did not give us what we wanted. For example, she gave us kid size glasses of water when my aunt had to ask about 3 times for bigger glasses. She made an excuse. She also didn’t have a pleasant attitude.

Christmas Day — 12/25/2014 — It was already a rough day. Earlier in the morning we’d found out my kids’ uncle passed away on their dad’s side. He was my friend as well for the last 19 years so we all felt a sad loss. That was early AM, a damper on our day. Instead of cooking, my BF offered to treat us to a nice meal. Bonus was: we had a coupon that didn’t state«not valid on holidays». :-) Arrived & saw only 2 other tables occupied. Nobody immediately greeted us but it turned out we arrived exactly at the time the ONLY server was leaving & the ONLY replacement was coming on shift. His name was Gabe & he was very apologetic. Told us that it was in between shifts and offered us to pick any table to sit at. Gabe took our order, was very friendly and smiled a lot. I appreciated that he answered all of our questions. Our food was delicious(2 of the super bird, cheeseburger, holiday turkey platter, senior slam) and hot. We had a nice spot that allowed us to laugh and have a good time regardless of what had happened earlier. The only thing I felt was off was: Nobody came to the table to take away my boyfriend’s soup bowl after he was finished. Our dinner hadn’t arrived yet but it was in the way. My ex put the bowl on the adjacent table which the manager noticed. I’d saw her eyeball him as he got up to put it there. When we left(over an hour later), the bowl was still there!!! The manager didn’t bother to get it herself either. Hmmm… No one asked us to hurry up or made us feel as if we HAD to leave. We took our time and didn’t feel rushed. At any Denny’s I’ve ever been to, it’s usually rushed. Overall it was a great ending to the day. The 20% coupon made it even better. Would I be back? Probably. The experience itself wasn’t an A+ but I don’t expect that with Denny’s. It’s good/decent food, on a holiday and to boot: there wasn’t any spit on top! So are we satisfied with service? Yeah, we are. Hence the 3 stars.

This place suck really bad. today is my last time going into that Denny that take for I saw people that got there after me get there food before my family and I got ours. Their lazy and slow. It’s not my fault you don’t like your job but don’t show it! There’s people that wouldn’t mind taking your job and that are jobless that I think would do great! Just NEVERAGAIN!!!

Having Sunday breakfast with the family here, I would not recommend. I came here with a family of 9 and was told that it was going to be a 15 minute wait. I then come to find out that they were going to sit us in 2 different booths. We ended up having to wait over a half an hour to be seated. I ended up driving to a different city to come to this denny’s under false pretenses. The manager later came to tell me that there was nothing she could do but continue to have me and my family wait. They wouldn’t even accomidate us by moving two tables together. I would not recommend this place if you are coming with more than four people, and especially don’t fully believe what they tell you about the wait time. They lured us in with a short wait time to have us wait here twice as long as we were told.

We went for a late dinner and though the food was hot and delicious it wasn’t what we ordered. They gave us a discount, though when the bill arrived it was still about $ 3 more than it should have been. I felt defensive when I brought it up again because they said that was the lowest discount possible. I had to say that I didn’t want a discount but that I just wanted to be rung up for what we actually ordered. It took him awhile but the manager gave us another discount. The refills were super slow and there were flies in the diningroom and the restrooms were messy. The staff was very nice, but incompetent.

I went there today on September 28th2014 between 10 a.m. –11:15am. I was there with my two sister and little brother. I order the value slam with scrambled eggs, 2 sausage and no butter on my pancakes. My sisters had the loaded sandwich breakfast, side of season fries and potato skillet, why my little brother had the sizzling chicken fajita. when we arrived there Betsy greeted us and seated us within 30 to 40 seconds. We had a corner booth on the left side of the room. We wait it probably 10 minutes to actually get some service from the waitress and she took forever. I noticed that she went to greet a large group of Mexican and a smaller group of Mexicans before she came to our table to ask if we were ready to order. She took forever to get a drink. when the food came out I noticed that my pancakes had butter in it but I noticed my waitress told the manager who was wearing purple that I didn’t want no butter in it and she took the food back. She also made an ugly face the manager. My brothers fajita came back and it was not sizzling whatsoever it was warm. So that means that the food was ready I was just sitting there. The fries were almost warm my sister had the loaded potato her food was mediocre and they did not had any jalapenos as requested. when my when my pancakes came back I check it to see if it was a different pancake and it was not it was the same pancakes. The pancake the head the butter on top was basically just wiped off and the bottom package was put on top to make it look like it was new, i can tell because there was a big fat hole in the bottom of the pancakes they assume that I was going to eat the whole thing but I always check my food before I eat it. I don’t want to ask for another one because I didn’t want to wait for another 1520 minutes for food cuz I was ready waiting for food already. This Denny’s had a lot of Mexicans, only two African Americans in there and we were the only Asians in there. the service was lousy, the hostess was nice, loud kids in the background yelling, our waitress sucks this message has been farm approve. I should have stayed home and made my own breakfast if I wanted to be satisfied.

Horrible service ! I didn’t even sit down to eat. I walked in with my 2 year old nephew and saw 4 – 5 tables open and 1 family waiting for a seat. I asked the clueless cashier how long the wait would be she said 15 – 20 minutes. I’m like okay aunt some people called ahead so I said okay and waited 15 minutes. The whole time the clueless cashier walked back and forth to the front and to the back not doing a thing while the tables were open. She did go and clean 1 table and took the tips and that was it. More people were coming in and waiting at this point but no one was getting seated. I made the best decision and walked out. If you want to wait 15 – 30 minutes for 2 people to eat then go here. If you want slow service incompetent cashier/hostess then come here. But if you live in Atwater and are willing to wait then come here.

Friday night I stopped by after seeing a play in Merced for a late night dinner. The place was very busy so I can only assume they were short staff. With only a few open tables I waited five minutes and no one had greeted or even acknowledged that I was standing there waiting to be seated. So I left. Maybe another time. So still in want of my Super Bird sandwich that I did not get last night here I decided to give them another try. It was 3:30 in the afternoon and as expected not very busy. I was greeted promptly and seated, and brought my beverage of choice a coke’. Great start. As I already knew what I wanted to eat I may have thrown off the waitress sense of timing. In any case it was quite a while before she showed up to take the order. The sandwich arrived promptly just as ordered and as yummy as I had remembered. My coke was empty when she brought the meal and saw said she would be right back with another. I had completely finished my meal when she returned with the beverage. Hummm. I asked for my check and once again she disappeared. I waited a few minutes let I guess a basic tip as I still hadn’t gotten the bill as I made my way to the cash register. A young man was there but clearly could not take any cash but he did manage to produce my bill. I got as close as I could to the exact amount left it on the cash register and left. In the meantime a line of four had assembled behind me all trying to pay. Ok so Denny’s in Atwater off the list. Not good service when slow and really not good service when slammed. Still love my Super Bird and Moons over Myhammie, will just have to find another location to get them. Too bad when I live right here in town. Augh!!!

Our server was Adam. He was so great. He gave us an acceptable amount of time to look over the menu before coming back to take our order. Very attentive and gave suggestions of what to order. Our drinks came out right away and he continued to come back with refills on our drinks. I built my own skillet and it came out very good. My husband ordered a build your own burger. They forgot his second patty and he was prompt to fix the mistake. I’ve never been disappointed with this location.
