The wife and I have been coming here for about 8 years. The food is always good, but the service is on a downslope. Felt kind of forgotten about, and our waitress had difficulty understanding us. All I’m saying is that if no longer carry something, please tell me while I’m ordering it. Not 10 minutes after the rest of our food is brought. And FYI if you ask for a hard poached eggs, you will get eggs fried to a crisp. We really miss a waitress named Shari.

A true gem in Auburn! Came here on a Sunday morning before heading to the horse races at Emerald Downs and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of wait. The service was phenomenal! Our waitress was so attentive, friendly, and gave us several recommendations on what was popular here. It’s rare that I can turn down eggs benedict anywhere so when she listed that as a special and as one of their most popular dishes, I was sold. The hollandaise was on point, thick ham, perfectly poached eggs and crispy hash browns. I was in heaven. Another must try we were told was the chicken fried steak and the SOS. Seeing as we wanted to try both, my boyfriend ordered the chicken fried steak with a biscuit for toast and a side of the SOS. Oh. My. God. That was the best chicken fried steak I’ve had in my life. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I’m salivating just thinking about it now. The country gravy wasn’t too heavy and had the most wonderful flavor to it. It was serious competition to the SOS which is like country gravy but has ground beef and other spices in it. Bomb dot com! The only ONLY con to our meal was the bloody mary. Unfortunately it was the worst I had ever had and for some reason tasted like watered down pickle juice to me… maybe I’m crazy. Anyways, we will definitely hit this spot up again next time we are in Auburn!

Very good food and service. The best SOS I have had. Omelettes are very good. If you’re lucky and get there when they have the ribeye steak special it is great. The hash browns are good and the country fry’s are excellent deep fried and crunchy. The make a very good eggs Benedict too. The pancakes must be made with corn flour as they are yellow and very tasty.

Went for a Saturday morning breakfast. It was pretty busy, but it didn’t take long at all to get our food. I felt like I got the perfect amount of food — not so much that I left feeling like I was about to die. The hash browns were really good, and the whole meal reminded me of a meal my grandmother from the south might make. Good food for decent prices.

I went to this place with my wife and daughter for breakfast and it was pretty good. When we walked in pretty much all the tables are open, it was a weekday so it probably wasn’t as bad as it should be on the weekends. My wife had the French toast with scrambled eggs and I had the chicken fried chicken and it was really good, also with a side of oatmeal. My coworker told me about this place and said that their breakfast was pretty slammin and I’d have to agree with him. The waitress was a doll and she really interacted with my daughter because she was pretty much the only child there. I don’t take anything away from this place, the food was good, the service was good and that’s what I asked for when I want to break away from the top food chains. On my way out I notice that they had a bar on the side. You can’t really see it unless you really look, so I’ll check that out sooner or later.

My dining companion and I decided to try this little joint for the first time because it was in walking distance. I was originally turned off by the amount of camo-sporting patrons, but it was busy for a Saturday morning, so I took it as a good sign. The wait staff was fairly dismissive, but grabbed our drink orders within five minutes of when we sat down. My companion and I agreed on our meal of chicken fried steak. The food came quickly, and had an adequate portion for one person. I cannot write rave reviews, but I can say it didn’t suck. It’s definitely a greasy spoon joint. You can count on it being quick, and not a huge disappointment.

When one chooses to enter a standard old fashioned American diner the general consensus would be that you are expecting to be greeted by an old world weary waitress with a pencil in her hair that calls you hun and is quick at wit, you would expect greasy fare at a decent price and local colorful characters to abound. This little hole in the wall on main in Auburn won’t satisfy your need for an old bitter waitress but it will certainly manage to satisfy your need for a decent meal at a reasonable price. The service was quick, the standard order of chicken fried steak arrived in short order and though it was not spectacular by an means it was a good example of the dish hot, hearty. The portion size was ample without being exorbitant and the entrée was cooked well. The only real gripe I have(other than the noise of the child at the next table practicing am operatic rendition of i don’t wanna) was that the coffee was weak beyond that this is a great little spot for exceptionally moderate cusine at a reasonable price.

I tried this place for the first time today. I moved to Auburn in 2001 yet never have been here. PROS: The place is nice enough and it’s clean enough PLUS they have my favorite type of diner food. Breakfast is served all day so I had corned beef hash with poached eggs and hash browns. A+ to the cook! My eggs were perfect. CON:(1) The decaf was harsh /burnt. This is a no brainier — don’t serve coffee that has been sitting over ½ hr on a burner. I had limited time so did not send it back or ask for fresh to be made.(2) My waitress was an older lady(65ish) who was perfunctory but not at all warm or friendly. Note to the owner: There are plenty of capable older people that would love a shot at earning $$ while being kind to others at the same time. If the server had been pleasant I’d have given them 4 stars.

The spanish waitress is beyond rude. Someone needs to fire her. Haven’t even received our food yet but I know I wont be back.

This is a Mom-n-Pop greasy spoon diner, and proudly so. To my mind the perfect place for an leisurely early morning weekend breakfast. They have all the traditional diner fare. Their ham steak breakfast is hearty. They have dang good homemade style SOS.(not that bland white gravy the chains offer). Not fancy, just tasty. Add to that that the service is good, the staff friendly, and the prices reasonable. I’ve paid more and gotten less many times.

Just what I look for on a cold winter morning. The old style café fast service, coffee always full, hashbrowns covered in gravy and local gossip. Good stuff.

After living in Auburn for 11 years, we finally made it to Andie’s. Andie’s is not on a route that we travel frequently so it is easy to forget that it exists. My wife has always put the diner down as a greasy joint, but the reviews weren’t bad. So today we went for lunch or breakfast as it is served all day. I had German sausage and eggs which came with 2 eggs(slightly over cooked, but the yoke was still runny), 2 sausages split length wise and fried, generous portion of hash browns and toast. My wife had a meatloaf sandwich which was OK, but nothing special. Prices were reasonable for the portions and the biggest surprise was how clean it was inside. Where the greasy joint rumor came from, is totally undeserved. I look forward to another meal there.

I have been here a few times and I must say it’s a must if you can look past it’s location. Auburn has sketchy areas, including the section of Main Street in which Andie’s is located. You can get S.O.S. and other American classics, but this place is a grease joint. The highlight of this little diner is the Mountain Room. A bar with little beer selection and stiff drinks. The service is fine blend of hospitibile and laid back. This is a place to go when you want an okay meal and you want to enjoy your company.

This place is right up the street so we walk here often for breakfast… it’s a good little dive… I have seen burnt toast get sent back a couple of times off of my boyfriends plate, but on the flip side, mine is always good ;) Seriously though, it is affordable and a decent place for breakfast with friends…

When a place is worse than a chain like Denny’s or Shari’s, it’s pretty damned bad. The only good thing I have to say is how downright cheerful the service was. I don’t go to a restaurant to socialize with the staff, though. It’s a plus, sure, but I go to a restaurant to eat. I ordered a club sandwich and my companion ordered the french dip and a cup of chili. The chili was dry, flavorless, and came out covered in a huge pile of cheese and chunks of onion. Um. Gross. He didn’t enjoy his french dip much more than the chili. My club sandwich was dry and clearly had cheap, bulk ingredients. Oh. the fries were pretty tasty. That’s about it. Skip it. Seriously.

Breakfast served all day so I got my French Toast fix! This lil ol’ diner is small and it seems like the kind of place where a big chunk of its patrons are regulars… and kinda old. But isn’t that how most diners are? Good sandwiches, good breakfast, reasonable prices, but nothing I wasn’t expecting.

Hearty portions and a bottomless cup of coffee makes this a great breakfast or lunch stop. My grandfather would have called the toast«stout» so if you want it on the paler /less crunchy side be sure to let them know. Breakfast is served all day and the lunch menu features a wide selections of sandwiches, salads, and home style favorites.
