This chocolate shop is a hidden treasure in the downtown area of Auburn. Street parking is easy to find, in addition to the small lot they have. The shop is right next to the factory, which is obvious since the place radiates of chocolate. Many of the chocolates are truffles, in many different flavors and variations. I’m a dark chocolate fan, so was able to find many options, like mint patties and salted caramels. But my favorite of the loot I bought were the peanut butter cups. They are much bigger than Reese’s, and overly-filled with peanut butter! Once you eat one you’ve had your chocolate fix; it was hard for me to finish just one cup. They also have fudge in yummy flavors like red velvet, mint chocolate chip, etc… And, they even make dog treats, which I of course, appreciated. I learned that the owner, who was very friendly, is a fellow dog-lover; so I may be biased, but pretty sure he and Gosanko can be trusted.

I was having a rough day and told my husband about it. He remembered that I wanted to try your chocolates, so when he got home he surprised me with a box of truffles. Oh my goodness these are the best I have ever had! I can’t wait to refer my friends and bring my family when they visit!

Am I spoiled coming from San Francisco or did I just get charged tourist fees? I got 4 truffles and was charged $ 11. Seems overpriced and wasn’t better than See’s Candies which is reasonably priced. Arg. Trying to delete this review. Realized I went to a different store called Gosanko Chocolate in Pike Place at 1906 Post Alley. Don’t know if they are related.

My mom gave me 2 oz. of the gourmet solid dark chocolate«traditional light» shaped like a Christmas light that she got as a party favor at a DAR meeting(her friend took her as her«plus one.») I ate all 2 oz. yesterday while working from home on paperwork I didn’t want to be doing. With that delicious chocolate I was«feeling no pain.» It was completely yummy and very medicinal. Highly recommend!

The fudge selection is creative, but my favorite is the caramel chocolate sea salt-amazing! The service here is always so friendly and efficient. The store is clean and well organized.

Real easy for me to bypass the candy display at the supermarket. But dump me into a decent specialty shop and watch out! I went there to buy a gift and ended up with a pretty hefty«private stock» as well. I got the dark chocolate covered salted caramels, a few cab sav truffles and a few«health bars»(chocolate covered fruits and nuts). OK, so I didn’t buy the health promo but who hits a candy store for physical health?(Mental health is another story, of course.) I’d say the chocolate is about as good as Dilettante. The fillings I have are fine but not spectacular… on a par with or a bit better than See’s, in my view. A home candy maker who isn’t shy about using unlimited amounts of butter and cream might come away unimpressed. For the rest of us who remember great candy prior to its mass-marketed mediocrity, there’s a nice experience waiting at Gosanko.

Can’t believe all the 5 star reviews. Place is in the old Harry and David’s(which I liked). Gal was really nice who me — I bought some Easter clearance candy(the day after) Then I also got a Cabernet Sauvignon & chili raspberry truffle. I really didn’t like any of it. Also, the 3 teenage girls I had with me thought the chocolate tasted chalky.

I was having a terrible day and wanted to find some chocolate covered kettle corn. Gosanko’s has it sometimes, but at this time they only had other kettle corn choices. I was a little disappointed, but the gal behind the counter offered me a free sample of fudge, and who doesn’t like that? I had one of the Rocky Road, which was AMAZING! She also let me have one of the Root Beer flavored one, which was also good. I mentioned to my friend«I’m really thirsty now, that was rich!» The gal behind the counter said, «I can getcha a glass of milk if you’d like!» I accepted, and she didn’t charge me for it! The fact she offered me milk instead of saying«We have drinks for sale» was going the extra mile. I’m a raving fan!

I am not a huge Chocolate fan but this place is one the best places I have been to in a long time. The Fudge is very good, I really like the Watermelon and the Caramel marshmallow a lot. I also had the sea salt caramels and those were very good. The prices are little high but you pay for quality and the service is good. I think they need to change their price signage into ¼ lb or ½ lb. Using 1 lb measurements at $ 20 lb range can scare people away if they are passing by. I plan on stopping by whenever I am in the Auburn area.

A friend of mine always remembers my birthday with scrumptious chocolates from Gosanko. They are to die for. It’s really hard to ration myself to one chocolate a day when I want to sit and eat the whole box but they are rich so that helps keep me in check!

Great selection of truffles, chocolate creams, caramels, and shaped chocolates(lips, computers, tulips, fish, tool… you name it!) all year round with ice cream in the summer. They will be participating in the Auburn Farmers Market and are a stop on this week’s Passport event. We frequent the store about once a month and they never fail to impress!
