You know it’s bad when you go to a buffet and the best part is the rice. Mandarin house’s buffet is MUCH better.

Like all fried rice in Alabama, the rice here glows like gold. They have ice cream in an intimidating freezer but it’s safe. They only have one island of entrees. The chow mein is the one thing that is made fresh consistently. If you really want steamed white rice, it’s off in the corner by the entrance in a small rice cooker. They have about 3 – 4 different kinds of soup. I can’t really identify any one entrée that stood out except for the chicken and broccoli. The seafood was oily. One visit here is good enough. I wouldn’t come back here again unless if I wanted to try an entrée or a combo item. The place is kept neatly but there’s no music in this restaurant. It’s eerily quiet when you come in, which kind of encourages you to take a to-go box.
