The service here is horrible, especially to-go. Waitress did not know what she was doing, multiple to-go orders were messed up or missing, and her manager chewed her out in front of 5 or 6 waiting customers while half the waiting crew just stood around. I called ahead, got there to find out they were out of turkey and waited thirty minutes for a replacement chicken plate. Very disorganized, inattentive, and ultimately unprofessional service crew here. I love the food at Jim n Nicks and the service is great @ other locations. I would love to see this place meet that same standard of service.

Everything from the service to the meal was great. The little sweet cheesy muffins were soooo good. Had the Carolina Pork and fresh cut fries.

This was not the Jim and Nick’s I’ve had in Birmingham before. As most of Auburn’s BBQ places, it was a bit of a disappointing. The pork on the pulled pork sandwhich was so tough and flavorless, it’s absolutely nothing like the Birmingham locations I’ve been to. As a matter of fact, the Jim and Nick’s in Birmingham is my favorite BBQ hands down, so this was a major letdown. The beans were ok, but too sweet. Looks like they are expanding quickly and finding it difficult to maintain the same level of quality.

Their food is good… if you dine in. I would suggest avoiding the drive thru since there is a high percent chance that they will either get your order wrong, serve you some semi-cooked meat, or not understand what you are ordering at all.

If you are a real BBQ fan, DONOTGOTO Jim and Nick’s! We can start with service. It was the 12:30 lunch rush, but it wasn’t packed to capacity. There were empty tables. Even in this state, it took 15 – 20 minutes to get our drinks. Nothing from the bar, only water and tea. When the food came out, they put my plate in front of someone else and he ate a bite from my potato salad. No big deal, I just asked for another. I waited 20 minutes for another bowl of potato salad. All they had to do was scoop it and throw it in a bowl. It NEVERCAME and I just said not to worry about it and take it off my bill. They didn’t take it off the bill. The food was not very good. When the meat came to the table, it was lukewarm. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was bland and dry. The sauce wasn’t terrible, but it was kind of watery. The quality of the potato salad is still unknown! It was pricier than it was worth. A sandwich plate with one side from the lunch menu was $ 9. Most things were $ 15 – 20 on the regular menu.

Typical chain bbq. Bland, basic chain food. Nothing special. Clean, nice restaurant. Service was good but food is generic. No real issue other than bland-for the masses food, no character.

I guess you can’t do a trip to a southern state without trying their barbecue. I came looking for brisquet, the order comes with two sides. The brisquet was very good but my cut had too much fat so once I cleaned it I was left with not as much brisquet. I was hoping for more vegetables sides but they only had a house salad and collards. Overall food and service both good. Large parking and not busy.

Service was slow, side items are extremely small for price and the entrees are not consistent. Overall, too pricey for what could have been much better. It seems profit is the higher priority at what once was a «go to» BBQ joint.

Great BBQ and bar, with an emphasis on whiskeys. Thumbs up! Ribs were smoked just right and the brisket melts in your mouth. You might not even pay attention to the little corn muffins they serve but they’re a delicious sweet/cheesy combo. Another great BBQ spot in Auburn.

Good food but the service is pretty pathetic. I have been a couple of times and the service just isn’t up to par. They never want to bring you biscuits and they take forever. great food but I have had terrible experiences with the service. The last time I went here, our waiter never came and we just walked out and went somewhere else after sitting for 20 minutes. It would take a lot for me to go here again.

Friendly, attentive staff provided great service. They seemed genuinely invested in us having a positive experience. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer. They were huge oinions in a crunchy coating. The mac and cheese is the best I have had in a restaurant. It was creamy and flavorful. Brisket was very tender and the corn muffins were sweet and cheesy. They offer bbq sauces, rubs, and muffin mixes for purchase. I bought two mixes one to give as a gift. They have two bbq sauces on the table. I did not try the hotter offering but the other had a slight kick. To go drink cups were provided which offered a nice perk. Ample parking.

First time here and we enjoyed the food and surroundings. Mac and cheese and cheese biscuits were great. Beef brisket, southern burger, pork plate were excellent. Try the«Dark and Stormy» drink special. Would have given 5 stars but the food was a little slow coming out.

I’m a Jim and Nick’s fan and have eaten in almost a dozen of them nationwide. I was surprised to see this location open up simply due to the massive number of restaurants on this strip(for being a small town). Rest assured, this location serves the same consistent BBQ, brings a friendly, clean atmosphere and great service, as does the rest of the chain. We dropped by after an Auburn baseball game and the place was three-quarters empty, even at 9pm. Unfortunately, there were a few misses on our trip. The Homemade Bar-B-Que Chips with blue cheese dressing were barely seasoned and slightly greasy, they forgot my salad and both of the brisket dinners were ordered had more fat that meat.(We order this often and have never seen the fat as least not partially trimmed off before it’s served.) My friends son struggled to eat the brisket because it was surrounded by fat. Other than that, we enjoyed every bite. Jim N Nicks is one of the few chains that normally always delivers great BBQ at an affordable price. In fact, my open-face turkey sandwich(it’s on the lunch menu, but you can order it for dinner) tasted amazing. On the other hand, we were surprised to see such different gravy here than other locations. We had eaten in Tuscaloosa here two nights prior and the gravy was much better(and completely different). This batch tasted like it was from a can and came in the form of a light brown gravy, rather than the dark brown we enjoyed at other locations. When coming to Jim N Nicks it can be a chore to decide what to order. The chain offers a large assortment of items. Your best bet is to opt for a two or three meat combo where you can try a few items(and a few trimmings). And, keep in mind, there isn’t any superior BBQ in town. Moe’s is ok, but Jim and Nick’s stands taller. Why else would the Club Level at Auburn Arena cater it?

Love this restaurant. My husband and I had dinner there last saturday and it was to die for. They brought me out a potato that was the size of the shoe it was filled with cheese, butter, sour cream and it tasted so good! My husband had the bbq chicken, potato salad, and baked beans he loved it. The yeast rolls are heaven. If you are ever in Auburn AL stop on by this awesome restaurant.

If you come for the ribs you will not be disappointed. Half rack more than enough for two. I had brisket and it was great. Could use a different green trimming option than collards. Overall I need a wheelbarrow to take the leftovers home. Great food, great servers. Plan on going into a food coma afterwards. It’s all good.

For a city loaded with barbeque, I’m not sure that I would return here. The pulled pork was pretty dry and far more expensive than Prices, Mike and Eds, or Byron’s, and the sauces didn’t do much for me(both were very tangy with no sweet option). The service was excellent. Classic Southern friendliness and pretty fast service. The best part of the meal was the cheese muffin/rolls that come for free with each meal. The cheese caramelized into the bread and it became a sweet, slightly crunchy exterior mixed with a perfectly fluffy interior. Man those things were good. Imagine Red Lobster cheddar biscuits being three times better and you come close to tasting these. So good!

Overall great BBQ. I had the double decker sandwich which has brisket and pulled pork on a Big Mac designed bun… SOGOOD! My mom got the grilled chicken and it was well seasoned and really tender. Mashed potatoes were excellent, the slaw was okay. Cool atmosphere, the service was very friendly, however, it was obvious they were short staffed. They seemed stretched to say the least. I’ll definitely be back for more brisket!

Totally clueless. Server was clueless. Cook was clueless. Manager was clueless. Ordered the Cuban sandwich and chips. It came out with no pickles, mustard, or mayo like the menu described and the chips were OLD. I told the server and he was very nice about replacing it.(He actually knew that the chips were likely stale because he finished my sentence). But the sandwich came back still missing pickles and the chips didn’t come out until we had already finished. They were good so make sure they are fresh. The real kicker is that the clueless manager came by our table after I had sent the food back. He had no clue despite me being without food in front of me. He asked if everything was okay and walked away before we could give a real response. The server should have been trained to notify the manager when a meal was sent back. Slow service, poor management, clueless cook, and overpriced average food. Won’t return.
