First time there, went through the drive through. Pregnant and craving Mexican food. We ordered burritos. Reaction: OMG the beans, sauce and rice have flavor! This place is good!!! Wasn’t expecting much since all of those ‘berto and Carolina«Mexican food» places are bland and have no flavor. Highly recommend Pollo Asado!

Yes! I got a tip that Mr. Jimmy is the same people as El Agave Mexican in Auburn so I came and tried! Judging by the building I thought this was«fast food» so I never stopped, but after the info I learned I came and tried… It’s awesome! Great breakfast burrito, REAL stove top cooked eggs; you can see the black pepper cooked into the whites just like eggs should be, grilled tortilla to perfection, delicious potatoes. I definitely recommend getting this spot into your routine! Enjoy!

I have been here at least ten times in the last couple of months. My first visit I was not overly impressed — but as I returned I came to love the food and service. This is not about fast food, as the staff is not speedy. However, they are friendly, work hard, and put out some excellent food. For me, I love the Jimmy tacos and chili Verdi with chips and salsa. As a family we also get the chicken meals — which are very good. I highly recommend this place.

I just got food from here, through the drive-through, and brought it home. It is awful. I have a tostada that does not have a crispy tortilla. It’s not like it got soggy it’s just a soft tortilla. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and it’s pretty much just a heaping mess of beans. My crispy chicken tacos taste stale, and the chicken sucks. I feel like nothing on this side of town is worth anything. I was looking forward to this, for it’s my cheat meal, and I am so disappointed. A friend told me it was good, and now I’ll be calling my friend to tell them they were wrong.

Finally was able to go… not bad not great… better than Moe’s.(I’m a HUGE Chipotle fan) Had the Burrito bowl, very filling… meat was a little over cooked. Guacamole was really good and lot’s of it… very friendly and nice.

Tried this place for the first time this weekend and it was great. The Super nachos with chicken was so good and was a big portion with lots of very delicious chicken! 4 stars because the wait time in the drive through was long but I read reviews while I waited that mentioned this happening, but it was worth the wait!

My manager first started to take me to Mr. Jimmy’s for lunch. I would get a shredded beef burrito. Which in itself was delicious, however I was ordering a beef option from a chicken restaurant. Then I started to order the Number 1, with beans and rice and tortillas to the side to construct a taco by pulling the meat apart. I was instantly addicted but I would get really messy, and the chicken a hit! Then another co worker told me about the 2 Super Jimmy’s Tacos. HOMERUN! Boy I am stuck with this meal, I don’t want anything else on the menu. Their breakfast burritos can’t be beat. It is filled with Eggs, beans, a meat(I go with bacon), sour cream, pico de gallo, and weighs like a pound. It has a nice little heat to it. My coworkers and I go often and I have recently started to get other family members to eat here. Mr. Jimmy is the last benefit of this company. He is very personable, friendly and remembers you. If you could clone him, no one would be left with a bad experience in ANY business. Thank you sir, keep up the great work! This is a small business with big taste and great value. It might not be McDonald’s fast but I will take 30 second longer to eat some good protein and fresh food.

REALFOOD, DONEGREAT, WITHLOVE. I am addicted to their fresh homemade Horchata, not a powdered mix, and creamy, silky Flan. We love the chicken — ITISNOT the grease fest you get from the major chains with msg and chemical enhancers. I get the super nachos with grilled chicken and an order of the guacamole with chips because I love the fresh made guacamole and the chips which they make too. I also love all the real cheese, Mr Jimmy never skimps on the cheese. Housemade chips piled high with everything you expect from awesome nachos. Our son loves the Grilled Chicken Quesadilla, which comes with sour crème, fresh made guacamole and fresh made pico de gallo. Amazing. Mr Jimmy uses REALCHEESE for everything, no fake nacho cheese spread here. Real grilled chicken and real cheese in a huge flour tortilla that is folded into a pocket and grilled. In the words of my 3yr old«DEeeeeeLICIOUS!» We come back for the amazing food, absolutely, but we take pride in supporting a family owned and operated restaurant serving fresh high quality food at great prices. Drive thru and dine in, we have experienced nothing but excellent customer service. To those reviewers who punish this restaurant with bad reviews accusing Mr Jimmy’s owners of posting 5 star posts, you should either state the fraudulent reviewer’s name or remove your review. Perhaps you are employees or owners of the competitor’s restaurant who lost customers to this restaurant because of their better food and service. You should be ashamed.

I get the carnitas super burrito with extra sour cream and extra carnitas… les than ten dollars. I think this is a super value as I have purchased. The same carnitas burrito in the same parking lot without the extras for the same price. Jimmy’s carnitas is flavorful and moist… I am supper picky. Best burrito available for purchase in Auburn. We also stop for nachos on Mondays with our kids to kill time before gymnastics. Great value… nice owners… If you have a problem… talk to the owner it is a fairly new business and constructive input I am sure would be welcome over a negative comment.

Last night My daughter and I tried Pollo Asado. It received good reviews when I read Unilocal customer’s experiences but based on my visit, service and food, it was ok, just above mediocre. We ordered, at drive thru, I, a Jimmy’s Burrito(grilled chicken, pinto beans, Spanish rice, cheese and salsa) and my daughter a super burrito. In my burrito I recalled scant chicken, but primarily beans and Spanish rice. I had to look up the menu this morning and was surprised to read cheese and salsa because I don’t remember either. For the price, the chicken should have dominated the burrito and it should have been flavorful — especially for its name sake! When I order asked if they had hot pickled jalapeños and carrots. At first the order taker did not seem to know what I was talking about, which I know this to be a staple item everywhere else. Then the order taker said«don’t worry no charge», so I assumed that they were included in my order. While waiting for the order there was a sign that said fruit ice creams and shaved ice for $ 1. So I ordered two ice creams when the server handed my burritos to me. She said«We are all out and have been since summer» — and so why advertise something you do have? After picking up and bring home, my order only include the two burritos, no jalapeños and carrots, no green and red salsa I usually get at other Mexican restaurants. They advertised, «we make all our food in our own kitchen… and we strive for fast service.» The flour tortillas were not made in the kitchen and not fresh. They are the same as the ones you buy in the store. I know as I am half Mexican and make my own. There was no ahead of us in the drive thru and on after us and I waited 3x the time as Carolina’s for example. The more I think about, the over all experience was mediocre. If you like bean and rice burritos, this place is for you.

Terribly un-impressed with out experience here today. While the girl taking our order was very nice she was under trained and under spoken, just ordering was awkward as she didn’t know the menu or register and no one in the back was offering to help her out nor could she speak loud enough to understand her questions. They forgot one of our dishes all together and the churros were under cooked. Take your money to Jim Boys down the street.

After shopping at Target, we stopped in for an order to go, that we could bring home to Grass Valley. I ordered 2 crispy fish tacos for myself, 2 beef tacos, and 2 tostadas. Each was boxed separately and put in a bag. When we got home and opened the fish tacos, they had soft tortilla shells, and I asked for crispy. So disappointed. The beef tacos had meat only, and super small. The tostadas were ok. Too far to drive back to replace the order. You don’t think you need to stop and look at each item ordered to be sure of what you got, but here you should. Unfortunately We will not be back. We love Mexican food, but you know what you’re getting at even Taco Bell!

When I see the phrase«fast foods» I run like hell. The authentic Mexican restaurant I wanted to go to happened to be closed, so I ended up here. Wow. Maybe it’s because they’re new and trying to please everybody or maybe I got there there on a lucky day, but the service was wonderful and the food was as good as anything I could get at many upscale Mexican restaurants. Not the fanciest environs of course, but well worth the price and the time. Highly recommended– especially for the«fast food» restaurant genre!

Love this place! They haven’t been in Auburn too long so I wanted to help get the word out for these folks. Great food and awesome customer service. I don’t know if we always get the owner or manager but they are so friendly, they genuinely want to make sure your happy with your visit, even if it’s just through the drive-thru. My new favorite Mexican restaurant when I’m in a hurry.

My hubby and I each had the carne asada super burrito. Really good, especially for fast food. Good place to stop for sure and we will again next time we’re down in Auburn.

Craving a pollo asado and don’t want to drive down the hill to the closest El Pollo? This is the place. Now I would consider myself a chicken man, having first been introduced to pollos asados from El Pollo Loco. Then moving to Tucson and frequently visiting Mexico where Pollo Feliz are about. Back to Sacramento where El Pollo Feliz(no relation to the Mexico chain) has a couple locations. Mr. Jimmy. Chicken’s as accurate as you would get at El Pollo, Pollo Feliz, or what you’d get in Mexico. Now only if my lovely Mexican wife could cook this… well, that’s another issue. Some logistical issues. Because it’s not quite fast food, wait times are a bit longer, so they could use seating closer to the register/pickup area. Also, the queue line doesn’t seem to line up with the counter. They’re at opposite ends. Finally, converting a Del Taco to an actual Mexican restaurant is a win for the Auburn area. Unofficial Pollo Asado Rankings 1) In-laws(default) 2) Pollo Feliz(Tucson/Mexico) 3) El Pollo Loco 4) Mr. Jimmy 5) El Pollo Feliz(Carmichael)

I tried this restraint for the first time yesterday, I can say that their food is DELICIOUS! The grill chicken I had was super tasty and well cooked! I loved it, also the strawberry orchata drink was one of the most delocious drinks I’ve ever had. I would recomend this restaurant to all grill chicken lovers!

We used one of those online coupons, paid $ 33.99 for the Family Dinner Meal. (16 pc. chicken, 316 oz. side dishes, tortillas, salsa, four churros). Regular price is $ 40, very steep for this type of take-out food. Chicken was dry, it was also on the salty side. Flavor was similar to El Pollo Loco chain. Pinto and Black Beans were very tasty, rice was salty. Tortillas greasy. Regular salsa tastes like they use ketchup. «Picante» salsa is very good. Salsa bar is not as good as other similar mexican taquerias. Service was prompt and efficient, due to adequate opening day staffing. Décor is lacking. Premises used to be «Del Taco» before it was given minimal renovation for this new eatery. Overall, three stars for everything. Nothing to write home about. Adjusted to one star(again) because of the latest round of FAKE Five-Star reviews that were placed by the owners.
