The reason they are such a shotty company is because they have an exclusive contract for the city of Rocklin. In my opinion they just don’t care… at all.
We were conducting business outside in our alley way and the driver tried to make us move because he simply didn’t want to back up. Then he got out and tried to intimidate us… that just wasn’t going to happen. I shit him up and reported him to his supervisor. I got a call from said supervisor and he proceeded to make excuses.
If it was truly a free market economy they would be clearly out of business.
Horrible prices and sketchy people equal a nasty business to deal with.
Steer clear of you can.

If there were 0 stars I would give them that. I would NEVER in my lifetime recommend anyone to use their services. Throughout our remodel we’ve used their company for several different dumpsters and every single time I put in an order the receptionist (s) were extremely rude to me. THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED. BEWARE if you have a dumpster at your property for longer than 7 days it is $ 5 per day after that. Not one single time did any of the women I talked to explain this to me. Now we owe over $ 400 in fees.

How about a minus five stars for the customer service representative who answers the phone? Really, you think being arrogant and sassy works in your line of work? First of all, you should be forced to listen to yourself speak to paying customers and then be FIRED!!! Makes me wonder how delicately you handle the phone calls from people who are struggling. Maybe your rude behavior stems from a hatred for people who just want to pay for what they’ve used and not get charged for services the company you work for NEVER provided. If you weren’t so busy thinking up your next line of smart aleck remarks, you might actually do what you’re supposed to and provide «customer service»!!! I strongly dislike this company and wished Rocklin would have better options for those of us who want quality service or at least an opportunity to get proper service!!! y

Holy cow this place is expensive, $ 55 for a 6′ truck bed load of house hold garbage. I will definitely be finding a different place dump garbage. The pricing seemed completely random, the lady that rang me up said «That looks like about $ 55».

I’ve lived in the area for many years. If I could give minus ratings I would. The staff in the office are horrid. Not worth their weight in lawn clippings. They are rude, patronizing and shouldn’t be dealing with people. Auburn Placer Recology is by far the worst service provider I’ve dealt with. People talk about rude companies like Comcast. Auburn Placer Recology is up there. If only you could pick your trash service provider like you can in other places. I would hands down go with a different provider and would hope other people followed suit because companies with rude ill mannered management don’t deserve to be in business.

Overpriced and rude. It cost Almost 3 times as much at mcourtney transfer station. 2 cans for $ 18.00.

This is a convenient location and the customer service is always great. We use a lot of their services including weekly garbage pickup, recycling center, dump, and large bin service. We always have been pleased with excellent customer service.

it all began with my first home in Auburn. The pickup happened early in the morning and maybe the fourth or fifth week of service I forgot to get the bin out the night before. The sound of the truck woke me up and I flew out to the driveway in my underwear and managed to get the can to the street at the exact moment the truck passed my house. Instead of stopping the driver rolled by slowly literally pointing at me and laughing. That was the moment in my life I decided not to give Christmas tips to my refuse hauler for the first time.
Having moved my home and business several times in this area, I’ve made a lot of calls to the office. Exactly once i was able to talk with someone who was friendly and helpful, typically it is a woman with a scratchy voice who has obvious contempt for every caller.
The week after Christmas 2014 (In which I did not give cash to the driver) my trash started getting skipped. I called every week and they came within a few days. 5 of 6 weeks my house was skipped so I called to cancel my service. They don’t like that.
I know that Recology is the only game in town, but I decided I would hike my trash to my office dumpster that I already pay for and that they seem to pickup faithfully.
On the phone I got the third degree and when asked why I was cancelling I stated that 5 of the last 6 weeks my trash wasn’t picked up. She told me I absolutely had to have it out the night before. I said we get bears in my neighborhood and I can’t do that. She said that the driver leaves Auburn at 4:30AM and heads directly to my road– this is a total lie.
They have never picked up our trash before 10:00AM. My wife has been home for a year with a small child and has been very aware of what time the noisy truck pulls in.
Anyway I canceled the service but they won’t come get their can, and have actually been sending the garbage truck back to my house faithfully every week since I cancelled.
I called to ask them to get the bin and to stop coming by and they told me, «When someone moves we always leave the bin for a few weeks and keep pickup going in case there is any post-​move trash left.»
I stated that I didn’t move, I just cancelled because their service is bad and they lied to me.
She really didn’t like that. I’m afraid they are going to keep billing me. I wish they were not the only choice that Placer County residents have available.
I will say that any time I’ve gone to the transfer station the employees working there are very friendly and helpful and it has been a pleasant experience. I am grateful for that. I think the people working the yard need to teach some basic courtesy to the people working the phones.
I know it is futile to give a bad review to a company that is our only option, but it is plain to see that I’m not alone in receiving poor service and a bunch of attitude from this company.

I have the best trash man in the world. Very kind, friendly, and helpful. Watching him maneuver that rear loader is very impressive. My town of Meadow vista is lucky to have him. Just a great young man

I am not a fan. Where I live, you pull in… they weigh your truck, and then you dump your trash. Then you are weighed on your way out. This is how they determine what you pay. Here, you pull in… there is one guy working the recycling and the dump. So, the line is usually long. Then he inspects your load and makes some arbitrary assessment of how much it will cost you to dump. This place sucks.

So … why really take the time to review a waste company? It’s not like you get to pick your own, I don’t think anyway. You get what you get and you get the company that services your neighborhood. I don’t review usually unless it’s AWESOME or a MESS and wouldn’t even think I would review something I have no control of where my money goes. On with it then: I called Recology Auburn Placer moments ago to set up our garbage for our new place. The lady (wont share her name over Unilocal but to her mgr would love to) that answered the phone and «assisted» me was hopefully just having a really bad day. I know she’s not in the customer service business but GEEZ she was the RUDEST person I have ever spoken to over the phone. I could barely get my sentences out, she cut me off each time, very short and her tone was horrible. I guess it’s not a big issue, just the garbage company and all but still — this company should look for another voice to represent them over the phone and if P (my un-friend’s first initial) is the boss or the owner, hire someone else to try to brighten someones day.

I’d give a five star review for all of the employees working outside of the office; I’ve lived here since 1989 and have never had a bad experience with the staff that handles recycling or our occasional dump runs. The office staff is a whole other matter. Very rude over the phone just trying to get answers to routine questions.

The WORST customer service I have ever dealt with. I hate to be negative about people because you never know when someone is just having a bad day, but I have called multiple times over the course of the last month (because there has been a mix up with my bill not being sent to my house) and have talked to the same lady on the phone. She is ridiculously rude! I try so hard to be nice and see if she warms up, and NOTHING! That aside I wouldn’t have a complaint if they fixed the problem with my bill on one of the first 3 calls I made to have it fixed.
I give them one star only because I never have trouble with the actual people who collect the garbage, or the people when you go to the dump. But the office help is as awful as they come!!!

It’s hard for me to understand how any business, public or private, can employ the nastiest person I’ve ever spoken to as their first line contact. For as long as I have been using this service I have hated to deal with this office. I thank God that the manager John has allowed me to contact him when my garbage is not picked up on garbage day or I would have gone insane by now. If you call the Auburn Recology office be prepared to be assualted by curt tones, nasty comments and insulting snips.
