It’s a bunch of old french people. Seriously.
The food was what I expected. Janelle loves it here; anywhere she loves it mediocre in my book. Poor Janelle.

I was intown for a wedding and needed some good breakfast to start the day. I found you guys on Unilocal and wasn’t disappointed. Great food, service and atmosphere. Next time I am in the area, I will for sure dine in with you all again. Thank you.

Best breakfast in town! Nothing fancy or world famous but always a good fresh home-​cooked breakfast with friends happy service, and alwAys WELL decorated

Pros: Friendly people, Price cheap compared to other things around.
Cons: Place was crammed in a lot of people everywhere I guess probably because famous, but not enough room to pay credit card bill without someone seeing it that was eating on the same table
Food Taste: I just got the special for the day, corned beef and some vegetables with dinner rolls. I think maybe I was expecting a lot because of all they hype on Unilocal so I expected a lot more; however, the meat was good and also were the vegetables, but they tasted like no spices were used.
I might go back; however, there are a lot of restaurants around here so it might be a while just wanting to try other stuff

Excellent food, menu and prices. But what really stands out is how friendly everyone is!

Large portions, very inexpensive, friendly staff and have never messed up my order. Go here pretty much every Sunday for breakfast

I love the food, the atmosphere, and the people.
Parking is hard and sometimes you have to wait in line for a table but its worth it.

I went there recently for breakfast & was quite pleased. My western omelet was excellent, coffee was good, service was good, & the griddle looked as clean as a pin. I will return & recommend to friends.

This is the local diner spot in L/​A. It’s everything you look for in a diner, from the staff to the food. Enjoy the specials, as they are always tasty and usually a little unique. Consistently good stuff at Rolly’s!
Some tips:
It’s busy all the time due to its traditional diner hours.
Don’t wait at the door. If there is an open seat, sit in it.
It’s pronounced like Rollie Fingers, not (dinner) roll-​ee.
Try everything! (especially the Mailhot sausage.)

Fantastic little diner with a charming old town atmosphere. I’ve eaten here lots of times, it’s open early, and generally packed with elderly locals who clearly know where the good stuff is. It’s not a big place, and feels old fashioned in all the good ways. Often times the interior is decorated for the season; halloween brings paper bats to the ceiling, easter heralds the plethora of plastic easter bobble heads in the window sills, that sort of thing. Wait staff is always friendly, quick to get your order through, and the portions are generally massive enough to fill the most hungry bellies. (coffee is delicious) Daily Specials are on a white board near the front, always something good and it comes with coffee.
Crepes are HUGE and they will never skimp on the whipped cream. Omelettes are filling. The gravy for SOS and pretty darn delicious too, really sticks to the ribs and will leave you waddling out the door with a full belly and ready for a food coma when you get home.
Can’t say enough good things about the seasonal harvest hashbrowns made with carrots and such in the fall. Probably the most delicious potato type pancake thing I’ve ever eaten in my life.

From out of town. Tried it. Liked it. Nothing fancy but seemed home cooked, large portions and the homemade pies and cheesecakes looked awesome. I had a club sandwich and it was excellent. On my list the next time I am in Auburn/​Lewiston area!

Exactly what I’ve come to expect in diner food. There are some good ol’ French Canadian recipes, as well as most breakfast mainstays.
I often customize my order to suit my personal tastes and am never disappointed. This locale has been a longtime favorite of mine for getting together over coffee and eggs with friends, to surprising my sons (more specifically getting me out of cooking) on Sunday mornings. The food is delicious and the service, spot-​on.
The ambiance is sometimes over-​the-​top, but entertaining nonetheless. I highly recommend any one of their breakfast skillet offerings, and if you want a real treat, Memere’s Crepes are phenomenal.
They serve lunch as well, though breakfast is tempting enough to order anytime of day. Absolutely worth a 10 – 15 minute wait in line during their busy time (typically Saturday and Sunday between 9a-​11a). Don’t want to wait? Head over before nine and you will likely find a seat waiting for you to warm it!

Rolly’s was recommended by our hotel. We had a veggie omelet, customized; an egg sub, which came on a lobster roll, & a blueberry crêpe. Everything was great! Easy to find, good coffee. We had to ask 3 times for water & the staff seemed a bit distracted, but we’d go again.

Service was quick, friendly and efficient! We went with a group of 10 and our coffee cups stayed full.
As others have mentioned, they have the French-​Canadian breakfast staple, crepes with real maple syrup. My wife enjoyed hers plain while our niece and nephew had theirs stuffed with jam and covered with whipped cream. They looked and tasted great. Couple that with a slice of fried bologna and you have a good old Maine breakfast!
I had a scramble; corned beef hash, hash browns, scrambled eggs all covered with melted cheddar cheese. Yummy!

Super vegetarian friendly and some of the most delicious pancakes ever — WITH REAL MAINE MAPLE SYRUP!!!

When father recommends a restaurant I know to trust his opinion. He has very high standards and he is the biggest foodie I know. In addition, he’s owned and managed his own restaurant for the past four decades.
So, when I was in Maine a couple weeks ago we decided to go out for breakfast and this is where we went. He’d told me a lot about this place, often coming alone for breakfast on his day off when my mom was working. I was very excited to try one of his favorite breakfast places in town (he has a couple of them).
On the Monday morning before the 4^th of July, this place was packed! The restaurant is a good size, but every single table was taken and the booths were also occupied. While we waited I took the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere, which was fun and lively. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, each other, and the food. Those seated at the booths had a good view of what was going on in the kitchen.
About ten minutes later we were seated. A waitress came by with our coffees as we perused the menu. Dad got something off the specials board, the summer sausage and cheese omelet that came with toast, coffee, and homefries, puffs or cottage fries. Being the hash lover that I am, I chose the roast beef hash, made in house, off the specials list. I also ordered two from-​scratch, made-​to-​order crepes: a sweet lemon pucker crêpe and a savory bacon and cheddar crêpe. Everything was delicious but the bacon and cheddar crêpe really stole the show.
In addition, It was my fathers birthday the day before. I told our waitress on my way to the bathroom and later in the meal the entire waitstaff came around, single file, singing Happy Birthday to my father, led by our waitress with a plated, fresh baked fruit-​studded muffin complete with candle on top.
I’m a fan of Rolly’s!

It’s your run of the mill diner fare, but it’s delicious. Service was always good, whether we were sitting at the counter or table, and the food hot. Crepes were wonderful (I love crepes, so I’m biased), especially with just maple syrup (the real stuff), and they have specials on pancakes/​french toast. You’ll find creton here, as well, which I have yet to try. It will happen, I’m sure. I enjoy the French Canadian influence in the choices, and recommend this diner to anyone looking for cheaper fare and a full belly.

French Canadian wet dream.
This is the local diner we should have been coming to for years. I am highly disappointed that it has been KEPT from us for so long! My cousin’s grandparents used to take her here as a baby, and since they both recently passed, she asked if we could visit Rolly’s while we were home, in their honor. And now all I want to do is go to Rolly’s every day and drink coffee and get to know the locals.
This place has both French Canadian specialties — crepes AND cretons (
). Crepes is regional/​cultural but to be able to buy cretons in a diner is incredibly unusual, and VERY locally/​culturally specific. I almost fell off my chair. Since I obviously needed to appease my grease-​loving heritage, I opted for the corned beef hash (totally, following tradition, from a can, ftw!), eggs, toast and coffee special — I couldn’t justify a double bypass surgery and order the cretons on top of it. BUT I just had to try the brown sugar crepes. Holy good god, it’s everything good (and oh so bad) about my heritage on plate. Delicious.
My mom was worried that there wouldn’t be any seats — apparently Rolly’s is very popular in the sketchier parts of New Auburn/​downtown Lewiston (no one said French Canadians are classy), but apparently we came at a good time, because there were plenty of colorful locals in Rolly’s but also plenty of available seats. My dream is to sit at the diner counter and talk smack, in a bad Lewiston accent, with the locals. I’m not kidding.
The service here is okay. I think my loud family might have traumatized our server so I’m going to giver her the benefit of the doubt and say sorry that my family is so crazy. I’d love to come back just me and my cousin — I promise that while we’re not demure, we’re *more* demure. This place is clearly an institution in New Auburn, and I can’t stress how sad I am that I had not been here until now. I sense a tradition emerging…
