Here’s a little bit of our recent experience with trying to get a ring resized:
We started by going to both locations of another jeweler here in Auburn. The first location told me my ring sizing could not be done. The second location told me, it could be done but there were 26 stones already loose on my ring. I would need to re-​tip all of the stones on my ring because if we only did the 26 it would look bad and I would be unhappy. So to do my ring sizing it would cost us $ 750.
We went and got a third opinion in Roseville. This man told us that what the first company said was not true, he recommended we go to a jeweler off of Arden way because they are honest. My husband and I like to support local Auburn businesses, so that was out of the question. So we came to Sierra Moon to see what their opinion was, they agreed with the man from Roseville, long story short, and lots of frustration aside, we are so happy! My ring is beautiful! Sierra moon was able to only re-​tip what needed to be re-​tipped and they did it all for $ 300!
Big difference $ 750 to $ 300…

A wonderful find in auburn ! A few months ago we were walking by and I stopped to admire a lovely gold necklace and pendant cutout in the shape of California. I’ve seen many of these state representative pendants on sale from numerous places before, but nothing of this high quality! Sierra Moon designs and make all their jewelry in house. They are true goldsmiths and their pieces are all unique and can be personalized. Last night my love surprised me with my very own golden state with a diamond placed in Sacramento ! :) I love it !! Its a beautiful piece of jewelry! The finish is a brushed gold or «ice» as they describe it and I love feeling the edge cuts of the pendant… It’s really thick and hearty, like a gold nugget:) the employees are all very friendly and helpful. If you truly want to find that perfect unique gift for your loved ones, defiantly check out Sierra moon ! Their workmanship, quality, design, and service is top notch !

This little jewelry shop is so dang friendly! They have a lot of cute stuff I’d not seen elsewhere. Yellow Gold, White Gold, Platinum, diamonds… it’s a full service shop. I didn’t buy anything, but jewelry is always fun to look at … not matter what the guys say! Hey, go sit on the bench while I check all these sparklies out! This is a nice shop and no big sales pressure.

Such nice staff and really beautiful jewelry! I was visiting from out of town when the ring guard that I wear on my engagement ring broke (I know I just need to get it resized, but haven’t done it yet…). I popped into Sierra Moon and they fixed it for me in just 20 minutes!
I would definitely recommend this store and if I lived in town, I would certainly use them for a real resizing.

My husband bought a beautiful wedding band for me about 13 years ago from Sierra Moon. Needless to say I gained a lot of weight and had to have it sized. We live in Reno and took it and another very special and delicate ring to a jeweler here. That was a mess. What a botched job they did. Well Molly at Sierra Moon did such a wonderful job at fixing and resizing my wedding band that I came back with the antique ring to fix. In the mean time I saw a silver band that I fell in love with. My husband was wonderful and surprised me with it on our next visit. For a place that custom jewelry I think the prices are great and not a ripe off. I now have 2 custom bands and the wonderful ring my husband gave me 34 years ago all fixed and being worn daily.

Sierra Moon Goldsmiths is a place you can buy jewelry made from gold brought to this store by 21^st century miners picking the shining crumbs from an area turned upside down and bathed in mercury in the 19^th century’s fevered quest for instant wealth.
John is one of the goldsmiths here. He’s turning out pieces made from gold nuggets, gold ore, rare meteorites, pearls and gems. It is fine stuff. There are also pieces made of the nation’s finest jewelry stones and gems from across our planet. If you like knives the way my friend Bill loves artful blades, they sell a line of custom ones that will make you bleed green.
Just down the road in the 20^th and 21^st centuries, an industry based on the most common earthly mineral, silica, has generated the most immense amount of wealth thus far in human history. The Mother Lode was nowhere near Meadow Lake, it is Silicon Valley.
The nabobs of high tech have discovered this gem of a location in the Sierra foothills. Fine estates in beautiful settings embellish the local landscape. People who made millions selling tiny Palo Alto family cottages have moved here to retire. Neo-​vitites plant tiny vineyards, emulating Coppola.

Don’t come in this place wearing your Guy Fawkes mask. Masks and expensive jewelry are not good fits. However, even if you spent months occupying America, and all you’ve got is a little cash to get something tasteful for your favorite person, you can find really elegant, inexpensive pieces here. Simply taking a look at work by the store’s featured artist from the Art Walk is inspiring and worth a look inside.

Although they had nice pieces, this place was a rip off.
I had been searching for over a year for a specific type of setting and finally found one from a jeweler that only sells their settings through other jewelers. When I found out that Sierra Moon was one, I stopped in to see how much it would cost. Because of the rising cost of gold, they quoted me an astronomical number on the setting — 5k! When I said this wasn’t something that I could do, the owner then said she would be able to take 500 off.
I found another jeweler in old town Sacramento and they were able to sell me the same exact setting for 3700 dollars.

Fantastic customer service and beyond amazing craftsmanship! My man and I took four of my late grandmothers wedding rings (she didn’t take any crap from a man and was kinda difficult… like me LOL) and asked the designer to create something really interesting and unique for my wedding ring. I am passionate about living a green life and being able to upcyle items I already owned was a perfect way to wear the past AND have something that is uniquely my own.
Working together on ideas and concept, the jeweler created a piece of art for my finger. Really truly a master artist who 100% got that I did NOT want something that was going to look like it could be bought at the mall. My ring is like no other I have ever seen. I often have strangers stop me on the street and ask me about the amazing art on my finger. I’m a bit of a picky girl… and Sierra Moon gave me everything I wanted and sooooo much more. Great job!
