The only thing good about this trip was my steak. The veggies arrived cold, they forgot my mash potatoes. After waiting for them, I discovered they were made from a box as I could feel the texture in my mouth that told me they weren’t cooked all the way. Too expensive for half a** meals. The cashier was snobbish. Our server was very friendly, earning the full one star

Just your average salad bar and Denny’s style place. Great if you all can’t decide, some can grab salads and the kids can grabs taco or nacho. The service has always been pretty good and the restaurant pretty clean.

Very disappointed — have eaten here before and it was great — the salad bar has been slimmed down considerably — and now you have to ask for bread and new plates or bowls — definitely a step down in quality

The restaurant was very clean; the staff were attentive, and the view is amazing. We drove up from Sacramento to find a nice restaurant with a good view of the Sierras. We definitely found it here. I had the Burgundy mushroom sirloin tips served over a tender yellow basmati rice. The fries were delicately seasoned and were perfectly golden brown. My wife had the salmon with veggies. We both had the unlimited soup & salad bar. The salad bar was well stocked with a large variety of options as well as three tasty per made salads to enjoy. I tried everything here. Everything was Yummy! They had three soups to choose from clam chowder, tomato basil, and chicken tortillaI soup. The tomato basil was amazing; very good flavor. The chicken tortilla soup could have used a little more favor and some tortilla chips. We ended up taking some of the main dinners home for later. I highly recommended stopping in. We will definitely make this a stop when heading up to the snow. Good job Sizzler!

Great food and attentive service. Ordered New York strip, sirloin and sirloin tips. All great quality mean and cooked really well. The salad bar freshness and options were better than any other Sizzler we have seen, easily beats sweet tomatoes. Fast delivery of the food and not busy. The staff worked hard to meet all our needs of a large family, they seem very experienced. Overall awesome experience!

We came here after my brother in law’s graduation and arrived a few minutes before the restaurant’s opening(11 am on Saturdays). It’s a great place to seat large groups, like any of your larger, well-known restaurant chains. We had 7 people in our group. The atmosphere is conducive for talking and connecting with each other. Every employee we communicated with, from the cashier to our servers, was very friendly. I was pretty impressed by their respectful attitudes and overall upbeat attitudes. The waitress was on point. She brought extra plates and bowls for the salad bar without being asked. She also offered to bring us a basket of fresh rolls as they were about to come out of the oven. So, good atmosphere, good staff… what could be lacking? The food. I will admit they have decent steak. My brother-in-law, who is usually particular about how his steak is cooked, was happy with his medium-rare cut. But my mother in law received a very chewy cut of medium-well steak. The rest of us got the Endless Salad Bar($ 11.99 each), an assortment of ready-to-eat salads, soups, and small plate items like Mexican food. It seems like they tried to provide too much variety and our stomachs were left with mediocrity. Anything that was fried was overcooked. The salads were green and crisp, but the pasta salads were bland. The frozen yogurt was so-so, but its quality wasn’t on par with even Yogurtland or Costco. The best part was the light, sweet butter that they served with the rolls. Highlight of my meal: butter and fluffy rolls. So, come here with groups in order to socialize, but don’t expect to satisfy your tastebuds at the same time.

We just now had dinner here. Food as expected— good. The big ass complaint is the cleaning of tables after a guest leaves. Bussing 101, when wiping down tables use at LEAST two wiping clothes. Busser had two and used both to wipe the seats— then the table. Same rag. Not just one, several tables. Not good at tall. No training? Not coming back here. Cleanliness is the forefront of an operation and obviously not shared by management. I just read a review from April of 2013 same complaint… No one from management cares? Now one star from me.

(2÷28÷15) We decided to go here for dinner. We placed our order and chose a table. Our server was very good and on top of things. The food was cooked perfectly, and very tasty. Much improved from the last time I ate at a Sizzler location(which also happened to be Auburn) several years ago. Good job on the improvement, Sizzler.

Sizzler has AMAZING steaks. It’s probably the best I’ve ever had, and that’s compared to known steak resturants. I always get the biggest, and it’s yummy, juicy and doesn’t consist of ½ of it being just fat. I always say, «as well done as it can be without being burnt» and they fulfill it! Texture is great too(texture is a deal breaker for me). The salad bar is good if you like salad, it could use more options however. On that note, I love their ranch! I always get it with my baked potato. Only thing I don’t like is their rolls and butter. Blegh. Service is nice, not too slow. They’re a family favorite to us. They’re never too busy, and they’re prices aren’t bad at all.

Oh Sizzler… I think maybe it is time to throw in the towel. Prior to today, our last visit to Sizzler had been several years ago and the visit sucked. We vowed to never waste our money there ever again. Tonight we needed to go out to dinner after a family baptism and my mother in law suggested Sizzler. She said that it had recently undergone a major face lift and they were under new management. The rumor was that the Quality, Service, and overall atmosphere was much better. When we arrived, there were people actually waiting to be seated. We thought this might just be a good sign. Usually at the Auburn Sizzler there are more employees than customers. We ordered the following: Kids Steak with baked potato Kids endless salad bar Kids pizza Double Bacon Cheeseburger Cheeseburger Fried Butterfly Shrimp Meal The salad portion of the salad bar was good, clean, and well stocked. The only strange part was the creamy Italian dressing looked a lot like 1000 island and tasted awful! Main courses: Kids steak — my daughter said that the steak was very tough and rubbery. She asked for the steak to be cooked medium. It was more like extra well. She did enjoy her potato though. Kids Pizza — although it looked like a microwave pizza, our daughter said she really likes it. She ate the whole thing. Kids endless salad bar — as I said earlier, the salad portion of the salad bar was good. However, the hot food section left much to be desired. Our son made a taco. The meat was super cold. Not room temperature, COLD. How the heck do you get cold meat on a hot table? Apparently Sizzler knows how to do it. Double Bacon Cheeseburger — my husband literally took 3 bites. That’s it. Cheeseburger — I only managed 2 bites. The meat just didn’t taste right. Butterfly Shrimp — my mother in law said that it was okay. The shrimp was rather oily. They didn’t give her any lemon or sauce. It was kinda strange. Our server provided us with 1 drink refill, she provided no additional plates for the 2 endless salad bars that I paid for. Never once did she check on us to see how our food was. As a matter of fact, when she cleared our table and saw 3 meals that were virtually untouched she didn’t utter a word. Then, after a 35 minute drive home after this wonderful meal, my husband had to rush into the bathroom and spent the next 20 minutes blowing it up. Thanks Sizzler, we will never visit again.

Quick lunch stop while driving through Auburn today. This Sizzler location has a very good salad bar, well prepared and reasonably priced main entrees, and the service was near perfect. They have several luncheon specials to choose from, many for less than $ 10. A very clean restaurant, with a very professional staff. Steven is consistently at the top of his game at the initial greeting and cashier position, plus Beverly and the others on the wait staff are very proficient, pleasant, and helpful. Every visit to this location has been enjoyable and the food is always good. The drink glasses are always kept full, and the dinner rolls served with the meal come piping hot out of the oven. This location also has a great view of the American River Canyon, along with a interior that was recently remodeled with well placed big screen TV’s that were set to sports channels. A very upscale and relaxed atmosphere for a Sizzler. The actual time spent having lunch in this restaurant wasn’t all that much different than would be normal at a fast food location, but the food quality was so much better, and the salad bar a very healthy alternative to what is offered at most fast food locations. Located facing the I-80 on the eastern edge of Auburn, it’s a quick hop off the freeway. I have visited this location several times over the past few years. The remodel really moved the entire dining experience up a couple of notches, and the improved salad bar along with consistently great service guarantees I’ll be back.

This Sizzler was recently remodeled but still retains the big plus of a spectacular view of the Sierra Nevada mountains. On my visit the restaurant was very clean and had a nice updated feel due the remodeling. Ordering at the counter was quick and efficient, the servers very friendly and attentive and the salad bar well stocked with fresh items. If you haven’t been to a Sizzler in a while there are some nice additions to the traditional salad bar options: Quinoa, Kale and a sweet & spicy mango & jicama salad. You’ll still find your old favorites like clam chowder, chicken wings, taco bar and dessert bar. Sizzler offers a solid value with a grilled to order 6 oz steak, baked potato and all you care to eat salad bar for under $ 15. The best Sierra views are located at the very back of the restaurant, just down a couple steps from the main dining room. They have also added a few large flat screens and were playing the Broncos’ preseason game against the 49ers during my visit.

Jenny was our server. We had our dogs on our road trip but stopped here to eat. We got them settled under a tree and I went in to get them some water. Jenny kindly filled our bowl with not only water but some ice(very hot day) and when we went out to check on them, they’d spilled their bowl and she again got us set up. We had a tasty fresh salad bar meal without our dogs being miserable or our being anxious about our dogs. We could see them clearly from the large windows. Other than having a shady area for pets to rest outside while their humans dine, I couldn’t ask for more on this regular stop to/from the mountains!

What was once a poorly lit cheap dive is now an excellent place to eat. Great experience, exceeding my expectations. The salad bar was clean, and service prompt, I will return soon!

My wife and my favorite Sizzler by far. Really neat location(great view). Food is very tasty as well. Polite staff that check on you often, refill, drinks bring new plates for the salad bar etc. Never seems too busy.

My wife and I were our way home and we stopped in for Dinner. The food was good and not to many people there cause it was early. The worst thing that happened was when the Waitresses were cleaning. First off all they were using Windex on the glass protector for the Salad. The Windex was spraying OVER the glass onto the food! Then the same girl was wiping down the tables. She was using the SAME rag on the seats and the table. To top it all off she was using that same rag to clean off the lights over the tables! I know you wanna keep the the place clean and that’s fine but use different rags! Not sure we’re coming back. At least to this one.

Now I usually am not a fan of chain restaurants due to the poor quality of the food. I figure if it can’t be as good as, or better than I make, it isn’t fit to go there to eat… Well Auburn was way busy(crowded) over the Christmas Holiday so we came here as it wasn’t crowded at all. My husband and I we’re very pleased with our whole lunch experience. I hadn’t been to a Sizzler in years, but this time seemed different… Great, friendly staff for starters… And the salad bar had a huge selection and better than I remembered… Our sirloin steak was very tasty and tender! And the view out the south windows of the snow capped Sierra Mountains Range could not be beat… Breathtaking! Now where do you get all that? At the Sizzler in Auburn, CA that’s where!

Sizzler meat doneness decoder: Well Done = Well Done Medium Well = Well Done Medium = Well Done Medium Rare = Well Done Rare = Well Done All kidding aside, the salad bar is pretty good! And the chiller drinks are delightful. And the service is prompt and attentive. And I feel like a young sprout with all the seniors around me. And my wife said her burger was pretty good(but well done). And it’s NEXTTOIKEDA’s!

Back in the day, rumor was that this was the highest grossing Sizzler in the US. It was always crowded with the Bay area travelers heading up(or back down) the hill. Now, when I drive by, the parking lot is ½ full compared what it used to be. Not sure if has to do with the service level or food quality, it seems the same as it has always been… just average. The pros: Our kids love it, because they can hit the bottomless salad bar, and they think it is the greatest thing ever. Their school gives them Sizzler«eat-for-free» coupons for one of their reading programs. So we appreciate that Sizzler cares /contributes to the local community. Our family can have a meal for about $ 20 total, which is pretty good. The food is what you would expect, just okay. You get what you pay for, a mediocre meal. Usually get the steak, but they definitely undercooked it to my liking. We go there because the kids like it, and they get to use their certificates.

Sizzler is sizzling my taste buds and wallet. I have always been a fan of their Malibu Chicken and that is exactly what I get when I come here. This location has a value menu where you can choose from a handful of meals and they throw in an all you can eat salad bar. I couldn’t eat it all. This location offers some of the best views of the Foothill valleys too. The service is great, the food is great and the restaurant is super clean. If you haven’t been in awhile, give’em another try. I will be back.
