The Beau Barbershop

The Beau Barbershop is an up and coming barbershop in the Auburn area. The business owner, Antonio, is one of the most talented barbers I’ve met, and I don’t plan to take my business elsewhere.
The small business feel here is nice, the staff is friendly, the owner is down to earth, and the price is right every time.
I recommend however that you schedule an appointment. The shop more often than not busy because of their abilities and low pricing– so I scheduling an appointment is a must. Luckily– Antonio has made this an easy task: simply call or text ahead when you want an appointment, and he’s incredibly flexible (even willing to stay late!) to ensure you get the haircut you want!

Walked in for a haircut at 4:15pm. Sign on the door says the place closes at 5pm. I sit down and begin to wait. One of the barbers asks me if I’m a walk in or I have an appointment. I’m a walk in. He tells me, «Oh, we are going to finish these scheduled appointments and close at five. «then he looks at me and says, «soooo.» I’m sitting there like an idiot wondering if he is kicking me out. I then say okay, get up to leave furious. He replies, «thank you!»… Really?
Is that how you should treat a new client? I saw your open sign, pulled in, thought to myself, «hell yeah, you just won a repeat customer.» sat down and then get rudely kicked out.
If they didn’t want anymore clients they should have turned off the open sign. Once I was in the establishment they could have told me it was going to be a 45 min wait and I would have left. But in the case that I decided to wait, then someone, especially the owner could stay an extra 30 min and earn a satisfied customer. Or provide a professional explanation as to why it will not be possible.
This is an example of bad managment and rude staff. Completely unacceptable if the person talking at (and I mean at) me was the owner. So enjoy closing at 5pm. This Unilocal ad says your open until 7.
