Webster First Federal Credit Union

this bank is in my network (my CU is in Worcester) and I’ve used it multiple times to get bank checks made and the like. tellers polite and professional. I have no complaints except their hours are inconvenient sometimes (closes at 4p mon-​wed)

I have never written a review online, but this bank deserves to be put out of business. They are the worst bank I have ever done business with. It’s not just this location. It’s this bank in general.
When I close my account, I expect everything to be closed. I was given receipts saying everything was closed and I was all set. Yet weeks later, some payments were made from my online bill pay because they were automatic payments. Even though I closed my account, they made payments on my behalf? Are they stupid? Close the accounts means closing everything. I don’t care if the bill pay is done through a third party or not. I have dealt with many banks, and once I have closed accounts, everything is stopped, whether it’s automatic or not. Now the bill pay company is looking for payment like it’s my responsibility.
A credit union of this size should not be having difficulty with these things. Their technology is obviously outdated. They won’t spend money on their website to make it user friendly. They are just terrible in all ways.

This bank is so corrupt and un helpful i cannot stand it. Once i turned 23, they failed to tell me that i am now being charged 50 cents for every debit transaction. REALLY??? thats highway robbery! I went in to the office to talk about it and my response was «sovereign bank has it too». Im not here to talk about sovereign bank I’m here to talk about this bank and how scandalous it is. Worst bank I’ve ever been too.

This credit union is in my network of CUs (The CU Service Centers network) where I can get free service as if it was a branch of my home credit union. I was in the area and needed to get a specific combination of cash. I’ve never had a problem with other credit unions in my network, but with this one, they made me feel like a second class citizen. I guess being in the network isn’t good enough as they treated me like I didn’t have an account with them.

From the outside it looks like any other brick building. You walk in past the usual table to fill out your paperwork and it looks more like a grand ballroom as you make your way to the back of the building to the counter to take care of business. I’d take a picture to prove my point but with my luck they’d think I’m casing the place and call the police and have me arrested.
The staff was friendly and efficient and gave me the correct amount of cash. I left happy.
