If six paper thin breaded slices of eggplant are supposed to fill up 2 – 3 people, with no pasta and just some bread, for $ 21.99, you are out of your mind. Don’t get me wrong. The food was good and the service was nice. But I will never be back because that price is absolutely ridiculous. $ 34 for 4 little breaded chicken breasts. No thank you.

Let’s start by saying that we are stuffed to «Violet Beauregarde» status! My boyfriend went to the one in Hawai’i and loved it. So we’ve been in Augusta for a year before we discovered this location and boy did we endulge. Not only was it good… we also tried to do the Italian thing and stay until our hearts and bellies were content, but alas we were stumped and after an hour and a half we finally admitted defeat and took a doggie bag. The stuffed mushrooms were delish and if it were an entrée, that’s all we would have eaten. LOL We also had the large spaghetti and meatballs… simple and filling. We’d recommend and come here again… definitely.

Can’t believe I paid $ 28 for 4 stuffed noodles with spinach and cheese. What a rip off. I do enjoy the food here but very disappointed in the small portion of chicken cannoli. 4 wimpy noodles for $ 28. Are you kidding me.

My husband and I are fans of Buca Di Beppo and have been to many across the country. The food is good and always made in-house. I would recommend coming at dinner time with 3+ people, OR just realizing that you will have leftovers. It’s worth the cost to not cook the next day, right? :) It all reheats well. We’ve come often enough in our time living in Augusta to have almost every server, and everyone we have had has been so kind. If you come for lunch hours on weekdays, you have the option of smaller portions. Our favorites: Italian Cream Cake Spaghetti w/meatballs Shrimp Florentine

I have never had an issue with the food or service at this restaurant. The wait staff has always been pleasant to us and the dishes we have ordered, while lacking in presentation, were well made and always made for good leftovers. The sangria is definitely the highlight of their menu though and my boyfriend and I never order anything else to drink. The atmosphere is nice. The restaurant itself is well decorated– though a bit busy– and the music and lighting make for a nice date night. The complaint I hold most is that everything– even the single serving things are far more expensive than necessary. I understand that a restaurant can’t undercharge for what they offer, but this restaurant is more like a $$$ than a $$. If you’re not planning on dropping $ 70(including tip) there, don’t do it.

Oh my god this place has the be the best Italian food I’ve ever had. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. You walk in and feel like you’re sitting in someone’s house in Italy. There are tons of vintage pictures on the walls, making the place very homey. It was surprising how nice it looked inside, given that it’s attached to the mall. The service is great and fast. They help me and my husband pick our meals since it was our first time there. They warned us that a small portion could feed two. We were skeptical(more like greedy and starving) so we each picked our own small pasta dish. Oh boy were they right. The small could easily feed a family of 3, especially since they give you an unlimited amount of bread and olive oil. We’ve been back a few times now in a span of 2 months and so far, we’ve had the Shrimp Fra Diavolo and Eggplant Parmesan with Spaghetti Marinara. Both excellent! Bonus points: they gave me basil seeds to go home with.

This was our first visit, we went with friends who are fans of the chain. They were excited to show us a good meal. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be. Our veal was awful. Very tough. We could not eat it and we complained. Our big sundae dessert had a speck of brownie and a ton of whipped cream. The promised ice cream was non existent. No bowls ever came. Our waiter ignored us after the first complaint. Our table was loaded with dirty dishes that were not removed. The food that was edible was ok, just ok. The manager made a new dessert for us. Very poor service and took forever. Both the manager and the chef and the waiter apologized and took the veal off the bill. We didn’t want a lower bill. We just wanted a good meal. We go out to eat often. We just want good food. We aren’t complainers. When we complain about almost everything served, it’s not good. Wish I would have read the reviews first. Save your time and money and go elsewhere!

Arrived about 12, place was empty but I had a groupon voucher I wanted to use. We were seated immediately and drinks and bread were brought out very fast. The server took our order and we waited enjoying the scenery in the restaurant. Overall, food was excellent service was fast.

This is a review that I’ve been meaning to write for awhile, but always seem to forget to do; but, here goes! I WILLNEVEREATHEREAGAIN. I have eaten there 3 times over the course of 2 years and EVERY time there has been something EPICALLY wrong with my meal/visit. The first time I visited this establishment, I was served chicken that was still raw. Not just a little pink, but not even cooked type of raw. I talked to the manager and we received the dish free, but it freaked me out none the less. The second time I went here to eat, it took nearly over an hour and a half to get our food. There could be worse things, but if you’re looking for a timely meal this might not be the place. Now, the most egregious offense came the night my husband and I ordered pickup from this establishment. We ordered a simple lasagna for dinner. We brought it home, and guess what? Nothing but sauce. No noodles. No cheese. Just sauce. My husband called the restaurant and brought back the noodle-less, cheese-less lasagna, and for our trouble we received a larger portion of lasagna. Now, for the manager’s reason for how this could’ve happened… he said(I swear I’m not making this up) the noodles may have disintegrated(this was a holiday night that this occurred and they had pre made a great number) due to the constant heat while keeping these dishes warm. Excuse me, what??? I will simply call shenanigans and leave it at that. So, a long review, I know. I just wanted it to be clear on why I will never eat there again.

My wife and I dined here last Monday night(06/08/2015); it was our 2nd time to try Bucca di Beppo at Augusta Mall after a similar disappointing experience a year ago. This is a ‘family style’ restaurant that seems to have given up trying to get things right as its obvious that they stopped caring a long time ago. I was so disappointed after dropping $ 50 for dinner(not including drinks) here that I bothered to go on line and fill out a brief survey. No one bothered replying so we won’t bother to return and give these inept people any more business. And, sadly, I won’t hesitate to tell my friends and workmates to forget even giving Bucca a try; they don’t deserve it. Young waitress was pleasant but was obviously new to the job. Bread never came out and when we reminded her of it, she exclaimed that she burnt it. No big deal– we thought there would be plenty to eat as the dishes are purportedly ‘family size’. We ordered a Mozzarella Caprese salad for $ 14, and also a small Lasagna for $ 20. It seemed to take forever for the food to be served; I figured out later that the cooks were out in the front by the reception desk chatting it up with some friends that had popped in. The lasagna finally came out and it was a mess. The waitress explained that the lasagna seems to have«collapsed». The dish looked like a mass of over-done pasta, too much marinara sauce, a few specks of sausage meat and meted cheese. The food had indeed collapsed because the pasta sheets were so soft and overdone that they were disintegrating. C’Mon! $ 20 bucks for that?! The worst part of this was that the serving utensils served with the meal where placed on the inside edges of the oval serving plate, with handles submerged in the marinara sauce. We moved the serving utensils out and placed them on the table, hoping that the waitress would notice and replace them. She was no where to be seen but I could hear her laughter in the kitchen. We had waited so long for the food that we simply used our cutlery at the table to dish out the lasagna. The ingredients on the caprese salad were fresh and reasonably prepared. Not quite worth 14 bucks but still acceptable in flavor. The so-called meat sauce lasagna was insulting. The marinara sauce was void in any flavor/taste– as if someone opened a tin of commercial brand pasta sauce and dumped it onto overdone pasta, masked with a sprinkle of cheese. Like I said, the pasta was overdone and just too soft. We left the waitress a 20% tip as we felt that she was probably doing her best and that any lack of training would be the manager’s fault– not hers. And I know that wait staff are underpaid. So we paid and left, vowing to not return. We grabbed a pizza on the way home as we were still hungry. I took the time to provide feedback at but they never responded like the website stated they would. The don’t care, so I don’t care. Save yourself some disappointment and go to Carrabba’s or Giuseppe’s instead. You’ll spend less and get meals that are prepared with better quality control and care in place. STAYAWAY. Let this joint fail and hope that a better restaurant moves into this location.

Wasn’t impressed at all to be honest. Expensive and product and service were not up to par. Unlikely to go again.

Way under par, especially for the price. I could’ve thrown some noodles in a dish with Walmart brand tomato sauce. The outcome would’ve tasted way better. The only good thing about it is the décor, aside from that there was nothing good about it.

We go on our lunch break to see our favorite bartender Johnette. Always bubbly, remembers our previous orders and drinks, but let’s us know about new drinks and dishes. The food is always fresh, and the service impeccable.

Located in the Augusta Mall, it’s the epitome of a Classic Italian Restaurant. My first experience here was outstanding. The customer service was great, the atmosphere is a comfortable and well decorated with Italian décor. On to the most important aspect; the food! The dishes are huge so I recommend sharing a ‘small plate’ with a friend if you’re not that hungry, otherwise you will be taking home left overs. The prices are kind of ‘up there’ but for the quality, service and experience, it’s worth it. I tried the chocolate chip cannoli for the first here and I didn’t really like it but that’s probably just me. It seems like it was a popular dessert there but it’s an acquired taste. Well put together but it wasn’t my thing. The experience overall has me wanting to go back already.

Paul’s YER( Unilocal Elite Rating): 2.25 Stars Came here to enjoy a Christmas dinner with my dad. I haven’t been here in many years, probably for the reason that we were just about to experience. First off the thing you need to know is, DONOTCOMEHEREWITHLESSTHAN4PEOPLE! The portions are so huge that even I, mister huge eater, just can’t even come close to putting a dent in all the food. So what winds up happening is that you pay for a whole lot of extra food that there is no way you can eat, so you’ll just have to take it home. They call it «family style» but I call it a curious business model since this type if Restaurant seems to be designed for parties of FOURORMORE! Because I knew the portions were huge, we ordered veal Parmesan as our main, followed with a pasta carbonara, with an Italian broccoli and pasta with marinara sauce as sides. They do have a pretty good deal on wine where you can get a «quartini» which is about 9 to 10 ounce pour and it was only like $ 11. I thought that was a pretty good deal, especially for a Nero d’Alba. They bring fresh Italian bread with olive oil and balsamic to start, and the bread was baked very fresh and hot and was delicious. Everything comes out at once here so better make room. We dug in and I went for the pasta carbonara because that is one of my very favorite Italian dishes. And it was actually quite very good. It had a very creamy alfredo like sauce, and very large strips of pancetta and also plenty of white meat chicken. So first one was pretty good. I had some broccoli and you can taste and see the garlic couldn’t quite taste of Romano cheese but it was very good broccoli. It better be for $ 9. Then I went for the veal. Let me just say that if I boiled my gym shoe in water for about 1 minute, it would have been more tender than what they served me as veal. It was God awful! I don’t know if you can tell by my picture, but it was really, really, really over cooked! The remaining side of pasta and marinara sauce was decent, nothing to write home about. I just had to mention the Veal situation to our waitress, and thankfully, they took it off the bill, which is exactly the right thing to do. By the way, that small portion of veal, which was 3 pieces of veal, was $ 26(of which I didn’t thankfully have to pay). If you read other reviewers on this place, many of us have a similar opinion about the whole family style thing and the price that it costs you. If I had paid for the veal, we were looking at about 80 to 90 dollars just for two of us. Now all of those who know me know that I have no problem spending money at restaurants. But when you’re forced to buy a whole lot of extra food that you may not necessarily want nor need, then I question the business model. Thus while the meal was decent overall, and the staff was nice and efficient, I don’t believe I will ever return because I just don’t understand the business model of not catering to anything less than 3 or 4 people! I’m sure they have their reasons, and I’ve been to this restaurant in a couple of cities already. I’ve experienced the same thing each time so I’m out.

Welp, another one bites the dust! Had a company luncheon, server was slow and inattentive, I never got a refill on my water, the lettuce was soggy and my entrée, Spicy Chicken Rigatoni was bland, and poorly prepared. Just FYI.

We decided to pop in for a late lunch/early dinner before heading out of town. I had purchased a Groupon, $ 10 for $ 20, that I needed to use. The hostess was pleasant and we were seated immediately. Unfortunately, it was in the area at the front where mall walkers-by will look as you eat. The ambiance and music was classic Italian and old Hollywood. Our server was very good and efficient with getting our waters and keeping them filled. Since it is family-style dining and there was only two of us, we decided to get an appetizer and an entrée to share. We started with the Artichoke Florentine Dip — it was very good but the sauce was quite thin(almost like soup) which made it difficult to keep on the crostini. For the main course, we ordered the Spicy Chicken Rigatoni. Our waiter was nice enough to let us know that it was, indeed, quite spicy and that we should mix the crushed red pepper that was on top into the pasta. The taste of the pasta dish was at most okay. It was obviously boxed pasta. The chicken and spicy sauce were generic and adding excessive amounts of red pepper will mask any other taste. Overall it wasn’t the worst dining experience I’ve had, but it is unlikely that we will return.

Staff was attentive after our incident with finding an insect in our food. Originally, we thought it was a cockroach. But, was told by another server that it was a beetle which is common to find in their area. If this is the case, this still needs to be seriously addressed because of the sanitation of food being served. Management immediately moved us to another table and comped our appetizer and(which we hope) re-prepared our order.

My husband and I came here for lunch and our experience was great. We were seated immediately and our server took our order. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, the stuffed prosciutto chicken, the Buca trio sampler and a chicken fettuccine alfredo to-go. They give you bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and we were stuffed by the time the main dishes arrived. And the food was delicious. Our waiter was friendly and was on top of things. It wasn’t busy for a Saturday afternoon so that was nice. The only thing that I was bummed about was the cost. It was a bit pricey for the amount of food we ordered. And most of the dishes we got were the small portion size. Our final bill came out to $ 91.00 not including the tip. We didn’t even order drinks, only water but I was surprised how costly it was for 4 dishes.
