Christmas of 2014 I ordered ravioli and thought it would come with either red or white sauce — it came with brown gravy! yuk The entire Christmas party guests complained about their food. I did go their last year in September and the chowder was edible. I would rather go there for their top quality spa instead of the restaurant.

I usually love Cloud 9. My husband and I live to pop in here for happy hour specials after work. It has always been great. Tonight though, there have been multiple systems failure. 1st) the lady’s room was messy. Obviously none of the staff had checked in for a number of hours to check on it’s cleanliness. 2nd) the overall«bouquet» in the bar area was very musty and I hate to say, urine-tinged. I would not be surprised if they had had some sort of prior flood or water damage of some sort, it smelled like that to me. 3rd) The salad bar was missing the«signature salad.» The only reason that I get salad there, that and the bleu cheese dressing. 4th) there was a «beard hair» on one of the Kalamata olives… Lord let it have been a beard or chest hair. It was highly suspicious and even more disappointing. I don’t know if there is new management, but they need to step it up a lot. Plus the restaurant could use new flooring in the bathroom… a number of tiles were missing. I hope that Cloud 9 comes back to it’s former good-ness.

The best brunch around. Saturday and sunday at 11am. The smörgåsbord of delicious food was endless. The omelette making station was so cool. Pick all your own toppings. The eggs Benedict were delicious. The corned beef hash was made with real shreds of corn beef. There was a huge salad bar. The pastries and breads were so yummy and fresh. The dessert bar was an overwhelming selection of delightful sweets. This may become a new weekend destination. Don’t forget the complimentary Bloody Mary or mimosa. During the week there is a pizza lunch buffet that is out of this world with salad and drinks. The dinner selection is a wonderful treat with tasty apps and full entrees. With all these delights you may hardly notice the décor fit for a king with wonderful paintings and wallpaper.

Best pizza in Augusta. Thin crust that is crispy. Had the wheat crust with carmelized onions and mushrooms and pesto, excellent. Fresh ingredients with a great crust. It was sweet with the onion and salty with pesto. Also they have a desert cart, can I say any more. Had the four small petite deserts, tiramisu, chocolate mousse and crème brule. All were good, but mousse stood out. Service was great. A great meal. Bar is quaint and homey. Décor in restaurant is a little dated, but who cares. Try it.

I’m visiting from CA and I really wanted some Maine lobster. I got two! Delicious food, great service, nice ambiance. My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner.

We ate breakfast here when staying at the senator. We decided to order pancakes and French toast instead of getting the free breakfast. It was ok. My French toast didn’t have that much flavor and was barely warm. They served cold syrup with the pancakes. The waitress was very friendly but never asked my husband if he wanted more coffee. Don’t think we would eat there again or at least pay for the breakfast.

This is difficult for me because I had such high hopes for this restaurant; perhaps the snooty server, the employee in shorts and muck boots running back and forth no less than 10 times through the dining area, or the staff wearing pajama bottoms. But the lack luster food didn’t help either. That said the Andes mint at the end of the meal was the best part.

Don’t waste your money! I went here last Tuesday and ordered the surf and turf(filet mignon and lobster claws). I asked for the steak medium rare, but it came out medium well, even closer to well done honestly. I informed the waitress and she agreed that it was over cooked and offered to send it back. I declined because I was dining with someone else and it would be awkward to sit there and watch her eat while I wait for another meal to be prepared. When the bill came I thought there would be a discount because I was served a piece of steak that was basically ruined, but they charged me full price $ 33 dollars which is absolutely outrageous in my opinion. To top it all off, we both ordered adult beverages, and they way over poured! It was almost like drinking straight from the bottle with maybe a couple drops of juice. I will not be going back nor would I recommend this place to friends or family.

We love Cloud 9 and go there all the time. We started going there when searching for someplace in Augusta that had raw oysters. On tonights visit we both had a favorite, the panko pan fried chicken with a lemon caper sauce. The ceasars on the side was excellent, and they know to add anchovies. Highly recommended for Augusta!

Clam chowder to die for. Onion soup was great. Local oysters(actually Connecticut tonight), last time from Maine fresh and delicious. Seafood sensation mix of everything was raved about. Filet and prime rib both excellent. Food and service always commendable here, we had large party of ten tonight, stayed almost three hours, unrushed, crème brulee exceptionally good tonight served in three small ramekins, homemade ice crème also excellent. Food here is always excellent, this is probably 5th or 6th time here and always better than expected.

The waitstaff is fantastic. The food? Pretty good. We don’t have many restaurants around here, and eatin’-wise is one of the best in the area. Uncomfortable drawback for myself and others? The staff has been loudly scolded in front of customers, to the point where you just want to go hug them. It happened three times while my boyfriend and I were there, and when comparing notes with other parties? That’s apparently something you’ll have to accept, lower your head, and tip as high as you can. This has been happening over the past several months, but has gotten so uncomfortable I had to say something, since there are people beyond just us who will not return when witnessing unkindness to others. Having worked in the restaurant business, I understand how that might feel. A year ago, I would have said four stars.

Solid«B-» cuisine. Waitress was nice and tried hard. Good oysters, so happy with that. Salad was limp and Caesar dressing straight from jar. Ordered swordfish special and served 2 small and disjointed remnant pieces. Cold white rice. Nearly inedible limp and tiny broccoli heads. Dessert cart rolled around under plexiglass cover. Perhaps best thing(repeat good oysters, but missing lemon wedge, why?) but desserts not professionally made – a few rungs down, heavy-handed. I am amazed by people posting 5 star reviews; just goes to show differing perceptions of what good food is. Unfortunately, this place is rated as one of the better establishments in Augusta. I went here only because was staying at attached hotel, which was an utter dump. Entire complex is best described as something out of time capsule, but aging process not frozen in time. Imagine heavy dust layer over everything, low cleanliness standards. High probability you wouldn’t want to see kitchen. «Chefs» must have trained at Denny’s Academy.

Where do I start? First off our server was great. The butternut and chard was over grilled both times. The server respectively sent it back both times and then asked if we wanted another selection. We selected the red pepper humus which was great. I had the mushroom ravioli which was OK but the asparagus was charred on the same grill that the chard was cooked on so it also tasted burnt. The oysters on the half shell was great. If back in this area I will stick the humus and the oysters plus the bar drinks. Everything else is up to you.

Cloud 9 was by far my favorite place to eat while staying in Maine. This place offered some of the best seafood I have ever had. I had their sea food combo which included fresh Maine oysters, lobster, shrimp and mussels which came with all sorts of dipping sauces. They also had a killer salad buffet and $ 3 draft beers what else isn’t to like? The only downfall to this place is the décor is lost in the 80s but I guess that kinda matches the hotel vibe of the Senator Inn as well as the whole town of Augusta.

I didn’t give the hotel a very good review but the restaurant? Loved it! The waitress was really sweet and the food was fresh and delicious. Try the crab cakes! I’m finicky about crab cakes and I was blown away. YUM. The salad bar was great: so many cheeses(my greatest love/downfall) and breads(another love/downfall). Steak and lobster was delicious. I also really like the art decorating the walls(for sale, as well). Funky and kitschy but some of them I actually considered buying. While I wouldn’t stay at the hotel again, I would go out of my way to go back to Cloud 9.

Went for dinner while staying at the Inn. The food was above average. Why it gets 2 stars, I paid $ 22.95 for baked stuffed shrimp. The shrimp and asparagus were great. The wild rice was cold. What ticked me off the most was being up charged $ 5.95 to have the salad bar with my dinner. I only went here because I was staying at the Inn. And I will never stay at the Inn again, so I will probably not be back.

Great service. Nicest staff you’ll ever meet. However, chill with the amount of mayo on the lobster roll! Bleck.
