Friendly’s

I was very unhappy with the meal i got today. The service was great, our server was very nice but the food was greasy and the little basket of fries, you get more in a small at Mcdonalds, I will not be returning.

This is standard family dining with well priced food that everyone wants. Not much has changed over the years. I remember coming here, even as a kid for a dinner out with my family. The décor on the wall is memorable and fun. The service is decent. The food is good for any meal.
The breakfast has my favorite style of home fries, deep fried. The omelets are fluffy and full of toppings. I love the sampler app with mozzarella sticks and waffle fries covered in cheese and bacon. The boneless bbq chicken finger sandwich is a genius concoction and served with fries.
They make excellent milkshakes and there is always ice cream for dessert.

Food was great and the server was outstanding. We were new to town and she took the time to orientate us to the town.

One star is probably too high a rating for this restaurant. I’ve been going to Friendly’s restaurants out in NY and VT where I live and have always had acceptable and even very good meals. Today’s meal — three different specialty chicken salads– was horrible. We started with over-​salted, greasy, waffle potato fries smothered in tasteless cheese spread, a couple shreds of bacon, and two very small scoops of sour cream. Lukewarm; we couldn’t close to finish them– absolutely not worth the calories. The salads had almost no lettuce, maybe 2oz of chicken each (half a dozen 2×1″ strips of steamed chicken, no flavor) with some tired bean and corn mixture on one salad, a lot of crispy noodles on another, and the best of the 3 salads had maybe 4oz of fried chicken. Salsa I asked for was from a bottle and tasted old. Even the cherry tomatoes on the salads were old and shriveled. Bill for this and one iced tea was more than $ 40 with tip. Only good point was the service: waitress was efficient and friendly. Otherwise: just awful. Just outside Augusta, ME

Best burger and root beer float I’ve had in years. Our waitress handled our 5-​guys-​goin-​fishin table with a delightful mix of motherly advice and sisterly teasing. The booths and tables are clean and restroom is as well. Next time I’ll try the lobster roll!

Our visit began by waiting by he door to be seated… We waited five minutes before we were even acknowledged. Finally a woman hastily shouted she well be right with you. Yelling to a hostess telling her to seat us… The young hostess came out and didn’t even smile, she looked as if it would be a burden to sit us down… She sat us down and said our waitress would be right out… Again… Five minutes later in a not so busy restaurant… Our waitress finally came… She was mumbling the whole time. We could barely hear her. The food was okay… First impressions are everything. When I walk into a friendlys I expect friendly people. Not grouchy hostesses.

Good food! The greeter was friendly and most of the staff seemed friendly and experienced. We got a young waitress who forgot to bring out our drinks and messed up the ice cream order. Otherwise id give a four or five stars. The parking was ample, though lines need to be restriped in whole mall. Interior was clean and well lit, and best of all seemed clean. Food was ready in good time, but dessert took too long to get. The other waitresses seemed to be more on top of their customer needs then ours, so they just need to train her better.

Very good service. My jalapeño burger was awesome as was my chocolate milk shake to go. The wait staff was quick an efficient.

For a place called Friendly’s, the seating hostess sure seemed put-​out to seat us (the car keys in her hand a dead giveaway that she was on her way out). In fact, it took 4 people to even acknowledge that we were standing waiting to be seated. Our waitress was pleasant enough, though, and had a trainee shadowing her that refilled my drink without asking, which was nice (although I really didn’t want it, we didn’t let it go to waste either). The food was just okay. I really wanted chicken strips and that’s what I got. Standard chicken strips.
It was really, really cold in the restaurant though. For a really comfortable day outside, it didn’t need to be so cold inside.

Terribly disorganized. Place was mostly empty yet it took me ten minutes to get coffee, 30 minutes to get a simple breakfast. Loud kitchen that can’t seem to put out food … I think they were cooking one order at a time.
Food was ok I had chorizo scramble. Stingy with home fries. Overpriced.

Great food and great, fast service. After the remodel (Dec 2012) there is plenty of space in the booths and tables. Parking can be a little hard at times.

This is a great place to take a family with children of all ages. The service and cleanliness at this location is very high considering this is a economy chain restaurant. The servers are always «Friendly».
