We visited on one of Augusta’s Christmas walk evenings. When we arrived there were roughly 10 patrons in front of us. The line moved at a reasonable speed. We ordered a coffee and a hot chocolate. After waiting for over 30 minutes and seeing a couple that arrived after us receive their order we finally gave up and told them we were leaving. At that point they handed my wife a hot chocolate that was dispensed from a 5 gallon water jug. Swiss Miss is fine from a ball park concession stand however it is unacceptable at these prices. As we waited we saw other patrons give up and leave without their orders. No apologies or compensation were offered to us or any of them. It really didn’t seem to matter to the staff one way or the other. We won’t be back.

Food was ok, wait time was awful and customer service was less than par. Took 1 hour to get 3 sandwiches, and they forgot our friend’s order. Didn’t even offer any compensation back or apology for the wait time. Won’t go back.

Stumbled upon Kate’s while doing business in Washington, MO. Well worth the backroad jaunt to Augusta. Great vegetable breakfast burrito and coffee. Had a great visit with the owner, Randal, who also is the barista. Look forward to returning.

Great coffee shop plus more. I had a sugar free vanilla latte with skim milk, made perfectly. This is truly a hidden treasure. The owners are friendly and helpful to the area. We enjoyed our visit and will be back.

Kate’s Coffee House was packed yesterday for Augusta’s Harvest Festival. There’s a cool old car outside. I have no idea what it was, except it is black and looks mighty fancy. The building is not small. It’s over 100 years old but it’s not at all run-down inside. This is a properly country seeming establishment without putting on country airs with calico and lace everywhere. There’s the ordering area and your choice of two rooms in which to dine. There are toys cars, etc. with which kids can play, so it has a family feel. There were two older kids so interested in playing that they weren’t interested in food. I found the service friendly but the It was over 20 minutes before my smoothee was ready. This didn’t affect the deliciousness of chocolate, peanut butter and banana, though. I’ll definitely be back for a leisurely meal on one of their slower days.

Cute coffee shop in Augusta. Love that they have almond milk(sweetened and unsweetened!) and stevia. Owner loves what he does and it shows.
