This is a great place to visit anytime of year, but February is ideal. The museum consists mostly of Black History displays. You can find out information about local people that have made history in the Augusta community. There’s a display about James Brown. The museum has various other events, which are usually fundraisers to assist with getting more exhibits. They also rent the building for various groups to have events or meetings. I recently visited for a speaking engagement for a youth group. I’d encourage anyone in the area to visit and see Ms. Christine Betts. She knows everything about local history.
