It’s a craft store. Sometimes they have what I’m looking for, sometimes not. If it’s on sale the price is usually fair. If it’s not I hope I have a coupon! Things can be expensive. The employees in the framing department a VERY helpful and friendly. They recognize you! How often does that happen these days in a chain store?! I usually pop in for framing, or if I’m in a crafting or scrap booking. Michael’s tends to have a different selection than a Hobby Lobby.

Found some great items on sale, even though I prefer Joanns because they have a better variety, selection and better discounts. Anyway, I was in the area and needed some things for my project. So over al I am glad I found some things that I could use.

Michaels is great when the employees aren’t hiding in the back… I would wonder if they were understaffed, but as I was searching for an item or an employee to help me find it, I could hear at least three employees gossiping and bickering in the back. There were absolutely no employees on the floor and only one at the register, so I had to go over to the frame department and ask the person there for help. She called up the other employees over her radio and no one came, so she tried helping me out. Finally, another employee came out, without any sort of name tag or apron or uniform, with a mouth full of food asking me what I was looking for and telling me that they were probably out of it. Yuck. It’s sad when I go around Augusta and see closed storefronts, but this is why that happens.

This type of place is dreaded by all men. This place is supposed to supply all your arts and crafts needs. looking around I saw a lot of items that looked very cheap and out of place like the expanding hose.(Why they had several displays of items like this in an arts and crafts store I don’t understand). Going through the aisles I saw a lot of «mess» as far as stuff out of place stuff just thrown here and there and then a lot of opened and damage boxes. My gf was looking for Christmas items and just were not all that impressed. I got some sidewalk chalk and dry erase crayons and then was«greeted» by one of the worlds worst cashiers. I don’t know what I did or said or what happened to her but her attitude totally inappropriate. Came here because their competitor was closed on sunday. Next time we will just wait until Monday and avoid this place.

I wish I hadn’t been suffering through a Michaels crowded aisle and very tight checkout lanes. Seriously, a place that sells wreaths that are 5 ft. tall only have about 7 inches of counter space to put the damn thing down? This was the hell I go to when I have nightmares about science projects and dioramas. I’ve never hated styrofoam balls more in all my life thanks to this place. I’ve been to this Michael’s at least 3 or 4 times and have never once seen anyone walking the aisles to help out us helpless flops. I walk the aisles and around the stores at least twice for obscure little items ’cause the aisles are never labeled and the organization isn’t exactly sound. But…but…they’re the only place you can find sculpting clay, Thanksgiving decorations, decent frames and obscure candies so they’ve got me there.

Like all Michaels Arts and Crafts, it’s overwhelming and congested. It’s hard to find what you are looking for and where is the staff when you need their help.
