How else do you entertain a pop-up guests a.k.a. is my Mom? You take them to all the antique, thrift and consignment stores in Augusta. This is how I ended up at the Salvation Army. In my quest to make sure my Mom wasn’t bored and didn’t make me pull my hair out, we ventured to The Salvation Army. This is a great place, which has a great mission. The Salvation Army Thrift Store proceeds usually are designated to a special program at The Salvation Army. So, regardless this visit would not be in vain. This was my first time visiting The Salvation Army Thrift Store. I typically drop into a Goodwill Store. This location is huge. It’s the size of a grocery store. They have it very organized. There is a section for Men, Women, Children, Electronics, Furniture etc. My Mom and I were just browsing. She’s usually looking for home décor. I was looking for books. They had a very large book section. If you like to read, this is great stop. I’ve started to buy a lot of my books through Amazon or download to my Kindle, but there’s nothing like a physical copy. To my surprise, they had a lot of current books. After, I thought about it, it makes sense. I only read a book once and may start donating them after I’m done. The furniture section is huge. They had a lot of dining tables and entertainment armoires. The Salvation Army also sells new mattresses, which is great. This is typically an item you would not want to buy used. The prices were awesome. No haggling needed. The staff was nice and shared some of the best days to buy. My Mom was occupied for at least an hour :)
