Unilocal lead me here. Yes, it is in the pawn shop. The work done for me was fast and top-​notch. I’m no computer expert, or anything close to it, but my understanding from those who know more than me is that replacing a mother board is a major repair that only a few shops in the Denver-​area do. Assuming that’s true, then I was lucky to essentially stumble upon ABC Denver Computer Repair. They disassembled my nonfunctional laptop the day I brought it in, ordered a mother board as soon as that appeared to be the part I needed replaced and I gave the «okay,» and then quickly installed the mother board once it arrived. Also, as an added bonus, they thoroughly cleaned each key on my keyboard by hand to ensure it was functioning properly. You can go to some Big Corporate repair place like Geek Squad if you’d like. But I say go here instead. I can’t speak to ABC’s prices with authority, as I didn’t get any other price quotes for repairing my laptop before going with ABC. But I’m willing to venture that ABC Denver Computer Repair is competitive with, and likely cheaper than, most other local repair shops’ prices.

I am delighted with the service and price I got for the work done on my laptop by Al at the «pawn shop». My hard drive needed to be wiped and all the programming restored. He also added some memory so it would run faster. All done in 24 hrs and for a very reasonable price. Great location if you are downtown.

Found this guy on Craigslist. Close to work so I brought my laptop to him. Looks like he is renting a space from a pawnshop. He did an excellent job on cleaning out the crap I don’t need, reinstalling some systems, adding more memory. And the price! Oh, I loved the price! It was about 60% less than Big Box geniuses wanted to charge me. And it was done in one afternoon so I was able to pick it up right after work. He also works on Saturday.
