All around this was a horrible experience. The installers did a rush job and trashed my condo. My baseboards are broken in half in several spots, covered in new nail holes, not completely reattached to the walls and gouged in places. No transitions were added between the floor and carpet. Carel my salesperson refused to return my calls or emails about this matter and when I went to return all of the extra laminate that they tried to get over on me for, the place was completely dead so I know for a fact he wasn’t busy. I’m a young single female in my mid 20’s. I paid Carpet Exchange for a job they did not complete. Carel told me the installer doesn’t do transitions, well why wasn’t that explained to me beforehand? If I’m paying you to do a job, you should do it. However once Carel had my money, I was dead to him. My cancer ridden disabled Vietnam Vet father had to come help me add transactions. While I’m thankful he could help, he should have never had to. I paid Carpet Exchange for that. I’m also certain they were trying to get over on me. First sign was when Carel told me there was only enough laminate for my job and therefore would need a deposit in 24 hours to hold it. From the very beginning of my install until the very end, I was repeatedly told by Carel and the installer that there was not enough laminate to do another small room I was interested in having added. I finally made my mom drive over to my condo and grab the extra boxes since I was at work. I ended up returning 3 new boxes and keeping 1, so why did everyone say there wasn’t enough? Don’t shop here, it’s not worth it!

Shopping for a dining room carpet on a recent weekend, we encountered what seemed to be utter disinterest from the floor staff, all of whom were seated at their central desk location staring at their monitors. We found a carpet we liked and made the usual expressions that mean«we’re ready for someone to help us now». After being ignored for awhile, we interrupted one of the monitor-staring employees and asked for her help. We learned everyone was ignoring us because one of the salespeople had said«hello» to us as we walked in and they therefore assumed he was helping us. But he wasn’t, he wasn’t even on the floor any more. So, she took over, and checked to see if the carpet we wanted was in stock. It was in stock at another location, so she called the other store and asked them if they could confirm they had it and arrange for it to be shipped to this store. «No» she was told — they wouldn’t check, too busy. They asked her to fax her request!(How quaint!) So she called another location, and they agreed to check. The process of getting the carpet from one store to another commenced, and we paid and were told we’d be called in a couple days when it was in. No call came, so we waited for the weekend figuring that was more than enough time for the carpet to be driven across town. When the weekend arrived we called them and were told it «wasn’t *quite* in yet» but they’d call us in a couple days. A couple more days, still no call from them. So we called them and learned it was at last in. Why hadn’t they bothered to call us? Why did it take more than a week to get a store-to-store transfer? Why the cold shoulder? All in all this place just failed at every turn to give us the slightest bit of customer care. 3 stars anyway because they’re cheap.

After determining that our carpet pad was ruined from the flood waters that crept into our house, I called upon Mike Landers at Carpet Exchange. Understanding that he was super«swamped»(no pun intended) it was going to be a couple hours before he could make it out to our house to give us an estimate. Mike was actually out driving in the storms going to customers houses and he made it to ours before schedule! We got an awesome estimate for padding and Mike assured us that we have great carpet that should stand up to the flooding as long as we got it dry in time. Before he left, we spoke with him about tearing the carpet out on our main level and replacing it with hardwood at some point, I am definite that we will use Carpet Exchange for that endeavor in the future.

We Were in need of more than just an install, but information on what and how the products would survive, and even some design aspects. Chris and Mike were not only always smiling they helped us in every aspect. They even told us what to expect, worked with our needs, costs and our time frames and got us the best product for the best price out there. I would definetly recommend them to anyone. Thanks for the great service and a smile.
