Las Islas Marias

I’ll keep it simple. I wouldn’t come back. A friend and I came in for the first time… the menu/​pictures and what arrived was two very different things. I’ve never seen a skinnier version of steak. We kept what we had but it was not what was advertised. I realize this is a seafood based restaurant so maybe that should have been what we ordered. I could expand on the food but I’ll leave it as we were not impressed.
Somewhere within 30 minutes of sitting down, they started with **really loud** music. There was no one on the dance floor; there may have been one couple at the bar and three tables besides ours. Even though we were sitting across from each other in a close distance we pretty much had to yell to hear one another. So the ambience kind of defeated the purpose of having a meal together.
I wanted to place to have potential and leave a positive memory but the park down the street was a nicer place to enjoy a friend’s company…

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Went for dinner with friends Saturday Night ordered appetizers and drinks, after sipping my drinks noticed a bug floating in it and called management and gave us the worse customer service by insulting us and saying I am not giving you nothing free (we were not asking for anything free) and walked away, then another manager came in and said it’s normal all restaurants in the area have roaches, so they decided to take 15% off our bill!!! WHAT A JOKE, WORSE DINING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

I’ve been here several times. The food is awesome especially the seafood. Try the micheladas they are fantastic. The service was fair, but the food made up for it.

If I could give half a star to this place I would. We waited over an hour for our food to come out and keep in mind we ordered shrimp and quesadillas. When the food finally did come out they forgot a kid order of quesadillas! Our waitress was never around and looked like she was drunk or high. Terrible service and the food was mediocre. DO NOT GO HERE! AVOID AT ALL COST!

He visitado este lugar un par de veces, la primera fue genial, la segunda dejo mucho que desear.
Ojalá y el personal entienda que el cliente es primero!
La comida salió toda a destiempo. Si venimos 5 personas no es posible que me sirvan a mi primero y tarden 7 min para servirle a los demás!
Ahora si ordenas un platillo y te traen otro, NO DISCUTAN CON LOS CLIENTES SI EL ERROR FUE DE USTEDES!!!
Aún así aunque hubiese sido culpa de nosotros no tienen por que alegar de quien fue el error (si ya había esperado 7 minutos para que le sirvieran alos demás agréguenle otros 15min tuve que comerme mi comida toda FRÍA!!!)
Los camarones al mojo de ajo ufff! Están más grandes los camarones que vienen en las sopas maruchan la verdad! Y sin sabor!
Y para colmo de males, ordenas una michelada y que creen? Qué no tienen LICENCIA PARA VENDER ALCOHOL! Que les fue suspendida! En serio??? Mal muy mal!
Tanto que convenci a mis amigos para ir a este lugar y quede tan mal con ellos!
Hay que reconocer que lo único bueno fueron los langostinos!
Vine de tan lejos a este lugar que la pensare mucho antes de volver!

I’ve been to the other Las Islas Marias locations in Chicago which are lovely, but this one out in the ‘burbs is such a let down!
First of all, there is no host to place you at a table… we had to ask one of the waitresses where we are able to sit. The waitresses in general looked unorganized. The tables remained dirty until someone sat down. Also, my sister ordered the breaded shrimp and it took forever to arrive, by the time she got her food we were already done with ours. And her breaded shrimp tasted horrible, they were breaded in a way different bread than the other locations. And it had a strange smell to it, too! Oh, and I ordered the shrimp in bacon and cheese, and my shrimp were not de-​vained!
And last but not least the biggest complaint of all, if you are a party 4 or more people you will be charged 15% gratuity automatically. SO ABSURD! The waitresses do not even inform you that it is already added to the bill, and if you pay by credit card they still leave the space open for a tip!
NEVER COMING TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN.
