This place has very little to choose from. Staff is friendly but the store in general is about useless. Super expensive and nothing in stock. I miss Academy

This location has a good staff that is friendly and aware of what promotions are going on. My concern for this store is the out of stocks on baseball gloves, and other equipment that players will need for the spring.

This particular store is not very clean or well organized. I asked an employee if the store carried a certain type and brand of socks. I was told no, they were only available online. Two minutes later I found the socks myself. Train your employees.

Went to get my bike repaired and it was done in a quick timely manner, and Wish they called me to tell me or inform me my bike was ready instead of me having to call for the whereabouts of my bike. Overall very satisfied with the service I had today 07/24/2014 Anthony Thank you

Very poor customer service and management. My wife and I went there today to get a yoga pad, carry straps, Yoga pants, and yoga shirts. We get to the check out and instead of being 14.99 on sale from 21.99 as the large sale sign on the bin that it came out of, it was rung up as 29.99. I asked the cashier about the price and she sent an associate back to check the price. After some time and the associate not returning, the cashier and I went back to the area where these are and the associate and the manager were there and were moving the sign over to one side of the bin. Then the manager preceded to tell me that there are 3 different products in the same bin, that are also 3 different prices. I told him the large sign attached to the front of the bin is very misleading, and anyone would think all of the mats in the bin were the same price. He made no offer to rectify the problem, and blamed the price confusion on the corporate offices who design the displays. My wife and I left without making a purchase. We went to Big 5 got all of the items, most same brands and saved about $ 15. I will not shop at southlands sports authority again.

Now I’ve purchased a bike, bike gear, fishing rod, stationary bike, and a punching bag. Great selection, great prices, and a friendly staff. Plus they have an excellent rewards program. What more could you want???

This Sports Authority is located in the Southlands mall. I’ve always had good experiences there and never had a problem with the employees like others have noted. I’d say sometimes they’re too helpful actually, at those times when you want to just walk around and browse. This is my go to sporting goods store.

It’s true what others have said. It’s a huge store, and there are no sales associates around. Their selection of snowboard gear was practically nil. I asked a couple associates where I could find some laces. They acted like I was rude for interrupting their roommate-bashing. Too bad this store sucks. I’d rather drive 20 minutes away to buy what I need.

The employees here don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground. Recently I was looking for a specific shoe that my boyfriend wanted, so I had called around to several stores looking for someone who carried his size. This location, claimed to have a pair. I was in search of a wider shoe, and New Balance, the shoes that I was wanting have wider sizes available. The person I spoke to on the phone apparently didn’t know the width code differences between men’s and women’s shoes… because even though I confirmed and asked 3 times before getting off the phone to make sure he had the right ones I showed up at the store and he had put the wrong ones on hold. Regular width shoes were what were waiting for me. I was afraid that it was going to happen; retail workers aren’t always the best and the brightest. They didn’t have them at all. Of course, when I showed up the guy who had put them on hold for me was MIA, and I spent 10 minutes waiting while they called him over the intercom 5 times. Eventually, they stopped calling him, so there I was standing around for another 20 minutes before one of the associates who had told me he would be right back came and said, «I called other locations to see if they had it and no one does.» I’m like, «Gee, thanks for letting me know that is what you were doing, I would have just left.» No one was apologetic for my inconvenience. I was told that they would be getting a new truck in on Tuesday, so on Tuesday I called back, to see if maybe they had received any of the shoe. I was told, «We don’t have it but the Parker store does!» So there go I, driving to the Parker store only to show up and guess what? THEYDON’T HAVETHEM. I talked to the manager who seemed to not care much about my story, and refused to do anything for me. I’m done shopping at this store; they hire a bunch of want-to-be meatheads.
