drove by today at 3:00 and found they are closed with a sign saying closed for remodeling, coming soon Chicken Shack

horrible! The service is great but the food was the worst barbecue I ever had. I mean if your going to cook soul food let’s start with seasoning the ribs are boiled with no barbecue flavor just sauce, and the brisket was the worst I ever had no flavor tougher than leather get real I’ll never go back. I support black business but this was just bad food! they had no greens or beef ribs I don’t know if that was pepper cabbage or coleslaw? you guys need to step ya game up!!!

We have passed by this BBQ establishment before its opening, and FINALLY now its opened, Hubs and I decide to have some BBQ here. That recent visit was on Saturday October 25^th 2014. Time was about 19:00hrs ish. Before us, there were about 3 other Patrons dining in there. Then when we were about to enter this establishment, we realized, the address and it was formerly an Establishment/​Restaurant which we have been many moons ago…
No wonder the restaurant «looks» familiar. When I see the MENU, what catches my eye was that they offer BEEF RIBS!!! Then when we asked, the man behind the ordering counter, he mentioned they SOLD OUT their BEEF RIBS!!! *Sad Face Indeed*
Oh well. Hence from their simple Menu we opt to have the following items :
* 2 orders of BRISKET Sandwiches with Fries ($ 11.98)
* 1 order of Wings ($ 6.99)
* 1 order of Potato Salad ($ 1.99)
* 1 Crush Orange Can Drink ($ 1.00)
* 1 Dr Pepper Can Drink ($ 1.00)
We waited for a bit. YES, there are only a few tables and chairs which are «spaced» sparsely apart since the dining area is on a «narrow» space. Nevertheless, they have high bar stools right when you enter this establishment.
While waiting for our order to be ready, the SMELL of FRIED CHICKEN and the sound of its frying «filled» the air inside this establishment since the kitchen ceiling is open to the dining area. Man by that time, our tummy is definitely «rumbling» aka «hungry»…
The person who took our order send our order to the table where we are seating. The Brisket Sandwich comes with 2 Brisket Sandwiches and Fries. No Frills, No Thrills. The wait is worth every bite that is what Hubs whispered. Hubs likes his order of Potato Salad. Hubs likes the Brisket Sandwiches. Hubs likes the Chicken Wings too. Man THOSE are TRIPLE LIKES! YES, the Chicken Wings comes out piping hot from the fryer, juicy and CRUNCHY Chicken With Skin!
At first when the staff sent our food, one of the order is missing. Since we were about to finish our Dinner, Hubs mentioned to the staff by showing the Receipt that we had from our order and that «missing» order to be packed in TO GO Boxes. Hence Hubs got the «missing» order aka the Brisket Sandwich.
Personally, since I am quite new in the BBQ World and its lingo, I am OK with what we ordered. Quite surprise to find out that the Fried Wings comes with 2 slices of Bread. Hmm, is this a norm? I whispered to myself and even to Hubs.
3.5 Stars at best for this establishment though I cannot deny I have been craving for BEEF RIBS in which Colorful Colorado lack of. *SIGH* Hence after our dinner, we talk to the staffs, and he told us, call them ahead of time when we want to order BEEF RIBS! If I am NOT mistaken, the staff behind the counter, who took our order, send the order to our table aka the Cashier, his name is Troy Vandiver. From their Simple Menu, they offer Catering and Delivering. They also offer Burgers, Philly Cheese Steak other than the BBQ items. The BBQ Items include Chicken, Chicken Wings, Gizzards, Giblets, Beef Ribs, Pork Ribs, Catfish, Whiting, and Tilapia to name a few. Do call them in advance with regards to the Delivering Radius.
