HOTDOGREVIEW: As a longtime fan of the 7-Eleven dogs, I happened to have a total craving for one the other day during my lunch. As it turned out, on this particular day, the store had run out of the 2/$ 2 Big Bites, so I upgraded. I got a ¼ pound Jalapeño and cheese, and a regular ¼ pound cheese dog. At $ 1.99 a piece, I blew out my budget, but it was worth it. The have a nice little fixin’s bar, which includes chopped raw onions, a pico de gallo-looking substance, and sundry condiments. AND we mustn’t forget, on the other counter, the free«chili» and«cheese» toppings! Once again ignoring the fact that I had heart surgery six weeks ago, I throw myself with reckless abandon into the dispensing of the toppings. The dogs themselves were actually not bad.(Remember, I’m a New Yorker, and I grew up on Sabrett and Nathan’s famous dogs) They are of course, skinless commercial dogs, but they do have a nice bite, and the jalapeño dog had a great little zing to it. So I’ll give these dogs a four. If you’re ever around the Lakeline area, and are craving a hot dog, you could do a lot worse than these.
