They have always been very honest and helpful, going above and beyond. I always take my car here before a road trip, and they check everything (fluids, tire pressure, etc.) just to make sure everything is safe. They are courteous, and always explain everything that is going on with my car, and what is urgent and what I can wait to fix or address. I highly recommend this place!

Great experience the first couple of times, though I noticed the expiration date on my sticker for the next oil change kept dropping. whatever. not a big deal. so I call in today, ‘is it a good time to come in?’ I ask. ‘nobody in front of you’ they said. so I go in at 12:15. At 1:06 I left in an Über and my car was in the same spot I’d left it. Between that time, a youngish lady had come in after me, and I guess having lady parts allows you to get in faster because she went ahead of me. whatever. I come back at 2. car is on a lift with tires off. I go in and ask to pay, trying my best to not lose it. I just want my car and I’m trying to bite my big lip. remember, this was only supposed to take as long as an oil change should take, 20 min or so. Been 2 hours at this point. the guy goes ‘well the coupon you brought in doesn’t really apply to synthetic oil’. well, he knew that when I first came in but decided to mention it at that point. typical mechanic BS, which I’ll get to more later. I say whatever, clear my throat, and say to charge full price. I’m thinking that I just want my f’n car. He goes on to say that he’ll make an exception this time (doesn’t explain why) and give it to me for cost, $ 45. that was the price on the coupon. what a great guy, right? I paid it, trying not to make a scene. I sat for another 15 min, then asked when it’ll be finished. he responds ‘we’ll get it out as soon as we can’. I say ‘so like 15 minutes? what are we talking about here?’ he says ‘yes, no more than 15 min.’ was that so goddamn hard to say? so here’s the big finale. the car is ready around 15 min later. I get in, the car is on but I notice the ‘windshield washer fluid’ and ‘tire pressure light’ are lit up on the dash. I turn the car off and ask the mechanic why that is and he responds in broken english ‘ju got to drive de car around, it go off’. That made zero sense to me, but I don’t assume people are lying. So this time I turn the car on after getting in. Meaning the system reads off everything that’s wrong on start, which was different than when I got in previously. The same two warnings about wiper fluid and tire pressure come on, as did the ‘service now!’ message. So I lost it. I screamed ‘goddamnit!’ out of the window, step out and tell the mechanic that nothing has been fixed. He apologizes like a dog caught mucking around in the trash, takes the car, does whatever, brings car back out. He says ‘I forgot to uze de macheeeene’. Magically, the wiper fluid light had disappeared as had the service now light. I guess the machine took care of that. The tire pressure was still on but hopefully by this point you’ll share my sense of futility. These guys are no better than the rest of those scummy mechanic shops, though they may not appear that way at first when they’re luring you in. I will for sure be checking with another shop that the oil was in fact changed. I’m almost hoping it wasn’t so I can see the look on their faces when I come back in. My advice: stay away, there has to be better shops of the 3 million in Austin.

I was very pleased with the level of customer service and professionalism. I brought in my Z which I drive on occasion. I just needed an oil change and a brake check. Turned out my brakes were fine and I didn’t need any service on them. I appreciate the honesty!
It’s refeshing to trust a mechanic.
Their facility is very clean and inviting. I will definitely use these guys again.

LOVE THEM! and I TRUST them! Shaun, Chase and their team are great guys who pay attention to detail and are timely taking care of business. Oil change, headlight installed, new windshield wipers, battery installed… whatever you need~they can do it! On time! And the have a nice, clean waiting area.

My husband Ron just returned from this shop with a big grin and an old car in tip top shape thanks to the diligence and integrity of these guys. Chasing down a difficult problem in an 12 year old car with good humor and a fair price is something that Ron felt we should Unilocal about. Advanced Auto and Tire is always knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and fair but this time they went far beyond expectations, they are simply the best around!

Have been here a handful of times for various reasons: oil change, strange noises I couldn’t identify with the help of Google, and wheel trembling.
Shaun and Raul have been so helpful and informative. I truly recommend this shop for any auto needs. As someone who has neglected their previous vehicles, it’s nice (and reasonable) to know that there are trust worthy and honest mechanics out there ready to help you understand more about your vehicles needs. The work here is quality and the customer service is beyond excellent. Won’t be taking my car anywhere else!

Randomly stopped here today after my «Flat tire» sensor turned on in my car. Line was short. They pulled out a nail and fixed the flat for free. Yes. they fix flats for free (if the tire can be saved). Had no idea. Amazing customer service. Clean lobby. Amazingly polite. These guys are the real deal.

Very friendly. They’ve done a couple of small jobs for me. Apparently so small that they didn’t feel the need to charge me for either time. It is good customer service. I will update when they do substantial work for me.

I’ve brought my work vehicle here twice now. Both times, they were very quick in getting it back to me, and did an excellent job fixing the problem. These guys work hard and seem to be very honest.
They also kept me updated on the status of my van. Being a work vehicle, I don’t make money without a van, so updates are important. It helped me schedule appointments with customers wanting on an ETA. Thank you again, guys! Happy to recommend you.

I really love coming here. They do all of my oil changes, and have done work on cars I’ve owned in the past. I’ve never had a problem with them, their pricing has always been fair, and I like the fact that the guys there know what they are talking about. They are grown men who do this for a living, not some straight-​out-​of-​high-​school kid who hasn’t been doing this very long. I will continue to give my business to them and I am sure they will continue to treat me right!

I totally recommend Advanced Auto and Tire. We have two cars that we take to Shawn and the entire team, as he has fostered an honest and friendly relationship. LOVE THIS AUTO REPAIR place… Trust is the key and it is important to feel comfortable with your auto mechanic. I accidently left my money pouch in my car while it was being worked on and I found it in the same place untouched!!! Try doing that again w/​someone else.

I won’t take my car anywhere else if I can help it. I have never felt like they were trying to «up sell» anything to me. I’ve even asked if certain maintenance was required, and if I don’t need it, they won’t do it. (Been there 4 or 5 times in the last 2 years).
I would say they’re moderately priced… not too expensive, but not exactly cheap. That being said, knowing I can trust their work and they are honest, I have never had an issue with their prices.
They also offer free WiFi in the waiting room, which is a plus when getting my car worked on because I can comfortably work from there. They tend to work fast too if you can get there early enough. I would definitely recommend this place!

These are good, smart and nice guys. I have been in a couple times and I am always comfortable. Nice place to wait around while your car gets work, but you won’t have to wait long.

These guys do «ok» auto work but their REAL specialty is the upsale.
Took my car in for a basic oil change. While up on the rack they sniff around and find anything else they can charge you for.
On this particular day it comes back I need new brakes, I was told my car is not safe for the road. The price quoted for new brakes was over $ 800. $ 800? Are you on crack? I politely said «Hell no»! Then he tries to guilt me into it by saying I shouldn’t even be driving this vehicle. Whatever man.
After I left this rip-​off joint I went directly to a local brake shop. Had all four brakes done for around $ 100.
Know your stuff when you go into this place… these guys are sharks.

I’ve since been back to this little automotive gem about 4 times (everyone was right, I totally jinxed myself by bragging about my car passing inspection) and I still 100% love them.
From changing your oil to replacing the motor in the your window to dealing with the mysterious rotor something or other… they are good. They are honest. They are totally reasonable. And they are fast!
At the risk of sounding like a played out commercial, having a mechanic (or group thereof) you feel like you can trust is absolutely priceless. I’m not letting them go unless I move out of Texas for some insane, asinine reason.

I took my Explorer to get a door handle repaired that had broken and provided the replacement handle to them that I had bought off of the internet. It was replaced and proceeded to break again a week later.
I haven’t bothered to take it back to be fixed again because I bought a new car anyway. Doesn’t seem like they did quality work to me if it broke so quickly again after being installed.
Wouldn’t really recommend them based on this experience.

I took a chance and went with an unyelped auto mechanic.
I got a quote for a new alternator, the first was with the super duper alternator, the second with a good one. I went with the good since I’m cheap, or at least need to be. I was quoted $ 350.
After having the alternator installed the price was $ 5 dollars cheaper, which makes me happy, because I’m cheap, but also because it wasn’t more than what they said it’d be.
I didn’t get any shady vibes while I was there, oh and will I was waiting, they let me store my laptop in a office so it was safe while I walked to the post office.
**UPDATED**
I mentioned in another mechanics review that I had to have a belt replaced, because these guys changed the alternator and the belt didn’t fit, they told me I needed a new belt, but not why. So I guess make sure you ask about everything and why they’re doing it.
Oh and if you’re local to Austin, they’ll give you a lift!
