I used to be happy with Omar, and that’s the only reason I give him a star. But after he installed a complete system for me with a one year free labor, he went completely MIA. The year has now passed and he was nowhere to be found. After numerous unanswered calls and texts, I had my husband call from his phone, and sure enough Omar answered my husband’s unrecognized call. He gave some excuse about a bad back. After patiently waiting for a long period of time after the bad back excuse, I called and texted. Again, not a single response. Apparently he just didn’t want to come out and honor his one-​year warranty on the new system (now worthless to me). I had to pay for other technicians to come in to service the unit that should have been done at no cost under the warranty. A true professional will respond to his customers! And if he has one that is dissatisfied, he/​she will make sure they work something out, knowing that bad reviews affects future business. I have waited patiently this entire year, giving Omar the benefit of the doubt, and his silence tells me he is not a professional. Caveat Emptor!

I’ve been a customer of Omar for about 1.5 years. After suffering through endless stream of crappy providers that my home warranty company provided for me, I finally went on Unilocal (about 1.5 years ago) and found Omar. I have not needed to call anyone else since. Here are the bullet points that you need:
— Most of the time, Omar will respond within 1 – 2 hours any day of the week, and will come out to see you same day. A few times, he came out near 8 PM
— He really knows his stuff — most of the times I had to call him, I’d explain what was happening over the phone, he’d tell me what he thought it was, bring the necessary parts and tools and fix it in one visit. There has not been a situation where I had to call him back a day or a week later because something he said he fixed did not stay fixed. If he fixes it, it stays fixed.
— His prices are very, very reasonable — service charges, parts, labor — all of it. Reading reviews for other providers, I get the sense of how much others charge. Omar does not rip you off — nowhere near it.
I have three kids, and I have a big house — AC is something we rely on very heavily. I trust Omar, I think the service he provides should be the gold standard for the industry.

After many struggles with my A/​C, not getting people to come on time, finding people unavailable for weeks, technicians installing things incorrectly, etc., I finally looked on Unilocal for reviews. When the technician I found couldn’t come out, he recommended Omar at Aire Rite. Omar has been working on my A/​C for two years now. The first time he came out, he showed up when expected, gave me a reasonable quote, took before and after pictures of the unit (in my attic) with his iPhone, and was honest about the work I would need done in the future. Since then, he has been easy to contact, punctual, and reasonable. When we had to replace the old unit on the roof, he did the work at the price he quoted, even though the manufacturer caused some unexpected complications. I highly recommend giving him a call if you need A/​C work. I’m not sure where he’s located, but I’m in South Central Austin, and he has been very accessible to me.
