I had the Mexican vanilla and it reminded me of the ice cream we get back home. It was creamy and so tasty. I chose a tiny sized one but it was actually a good quantity. I will go back for more.

We came here as a treat on our child’s birthday. The only ‘problem’ I have is that there was a huge line and only one employee who was trying her best, but still the waiting time was about 10−15−20 minutes (which feels like 1000 years with small children). I love that they have the playscape outside and the ice cream was very tasty. Will definitely be back, just hoping for a shorter line next time. :)

My husband is always raving about Amy’s and I finally got to experience it. We came in late on a Sat night and there were still plenty of people there — always a good sign. The servers were friendly and let us sample a few flavors. I ended up with the Lemon Oreo which was heavenly! I ordered the Tiny and it was plenty big. My husband got ½ Mexican Vanilla (amazing again) and ½ Chocolate Guinness (yes, with alcohol). Would definitely come back.

I visited this location twice on a trip to show my wife around Austin. She loved the ice cream. The service was very good both visits and the location was very clean. There is a playground out back for the kids to enjoy and an old school photo booth inside we used as well. It’s attached to the indoor sky diving building and also connects to another restaurant we did not visit.

Amy’s Ice Cream is, by far, the best ice cream I’ve ever had.
This location was pretty nice. I was a little put off by all the stuff catering to children; but, that’s just me. The awesome ice cream makes up for everything else.
Everytime I hear «blue bell» I just think «Why? Amy’s is a thousand times better.»

Of course most people will know that Amy’s is a legend in Austin. I’m an Austin native (over 40 is all I’ll say) so I’ve been here since it started. The ice cream is high quality… always has been. Very consistent too. And the folks that work at each Amy’s are great. Very «Austin» but also always courteous, polite, customer focused. Service is always great.
Flavor variety is a big plus. Always something «interesting» on the menu (some might say repulsive for some flavors but hey, it’s Austin).
Price is a consideration. It’s on the high-​end of the cost spectrum. You can buy a half-​gallon of Blue Bell for a medium dish of Amy’s. It’s not the same, I know, but still… It’s a consideration.
We enjoy occassionally going because it’s always meets or exceeds our expectations.

Me and the kiddos agree on this one. I love their ice cream. Cookies and cream is my fave. The kids had Mexican Vanilla and they loved it. I like this location because they actually chop up the cookies in front of you and my youngest gets a kick out of this for some reason. I don’t really have any complaints. Even when they came out remote to cater at an event we attended, the ice cream was still on point. This one’s a winner!

Late night dessert after indoor skydiving? Sure why not! I guess at the end of the day ice cream is ice cream so it’s not much to rate this place on but I’ll try. Cleanliness and options gets them 4 stars. The place was closing in 2 minutes but the employees were still perky and singing and dancing for us 3 customers… so cute. I ordered a small Mexican vanilla ice cream with a brownie mixed in. Not too difficult at all. However, my friend ordered the same thing also in a small and got considerably more ice cream than I did. Wait a minute (in my Kevin Hart voice) minus a star! I’m not petty but dang the difference between her’s and mine was damn near alarming. Now here’s where you guys redeemed yourselves, I mentioned the incomparable portions to the young lady making my ice cream and instead of catching an attitude and saying «well technically yours is a small», she graciously added more ice cream to mine and blamed the portion size on her male counter part. Whatever, at least she didn’t make a big deal about it and recognized that I was right. Taste wise it was good, not the best I ever had and I won’t be coming out my way to go there but if your in the vicinity and seeking a late night treat this place will suffice.

I love Amy’s ice cream and they love me right back by creating the one of a kind, MEXICAN VANILLA. I am a regular and #1 fan in the Houston location that I could not bypass the Austin location. The customer service was on point and so was the ice cream. I always order Mexican Vanilla as I love all things Mexican. I crush in graham crackers and strawberries and a fiesta gets poppin in my mouth. Do not hesitate to try!

I am really glad that I now live really close to this place! It is the best ice cream in town in my opinion. I personally go for the Mexican Vanilla. Beware, you will become addicted! This place is great for children as well. There is a little playground right outside for them to play in. Pretty cool for the parents that want to take a little break and enjoy their ice cream.
The staff has been great every time I come here. Today, the girl helping me noticed I was having a hard time deciding what flavor to get. They constantly have new flavors which rocks! She asked if there was a flavor I could sample. That was really helpful because I hate ending up with something that doesn’t quite hit the spot. I am always very pleased. I am a customer for life!

After stuffing myself with burgers, I knew I needed something sweet to cleanse my palate. Since Amy’s was attached to Phil’s, it was a breeze to get there.
A short line awaited us. There were three employees behind the counter so we moved fast. As usual, I ordered a small chocolate cup. Then I requested a lid and that’s when the fun began. The ice cream was more than the cup could handle so the lid wouldn’t go on. My server handed me a plastic spoon to smush it down. I broke it. Without thinking I used my hand to smash it into the cup better. I was not about to waste the chocolate on my hands so I licked it clean. Then my face was covered in chocolate. Even though the 3 employees were laughing at me, one grabbed a wet cloth for me to clean my face.
Just the taste of licking the chocolate made me realize I was going to have a hard time containing myself before I got home. Oh, the heavenly delight of this ice cream. Rich, creamy, smooth, and oh so chocolately.

First time at Amy’s ice cream and will not be our last! Not only was the ice cream amazing but the experience and ambiance put a cherry on top. Matt was great and wowed us with his preparation. 5 star establishment!

I’ve had Amy’s Ice Cream since I was a kid. This place won’t let you down with their goofy clever names and they even have options for those that are dairy free.

I love having this place in my area! I’m not a huge ice cream lover but every now and then I get a craving and Amy’s hits the spot. The ice cream is great and served in large portions. Last time I was here, I tried the Mexican vanilla with pecan praline. It was wonderful, of course. The staff is always nice and friendly.
My one complaint is that the tables inside are usually sticky with ice cream. I wish they were wiped down more often.
There’s some outdoor seating and a small play park for the kiddos outside. Also, Baked by Amy’s and Phil’s Icehouse are next door.

Had the coffee chocolate chip and grasshopper flavors. They were both super tasty! They also have other unique flavors like Shiner, cream soda, and Mexican vanilla. The service was fast and our server threw up scoops of ice cream and caught them in the cup like I’ve never seen before!
Don’t forget to grab a rewards card for your scoops! :)

Sorry to be a downer on such a well known local ice creamery, but every time I go to Amy’s I’m not impressed. First, the variety of flavors isn’t all that great — I’ve seen better innovations with ingredients elsewhere.
Customer service sucks — always a long line, have to wait 30 minutes.
Expensive too — a little cup is $ 3 bucks. It’s just not that good for the price. It’s ordinary to good at best. Not great.
Sorry, man, but I would rather Dairy Queen it as horrible as that sounds.

Really Good Ice Cream!
Me and the wife have been to this location a few times and always leave pleased. The ice cream is always fresh and really good.
They usually have 5 – 6 special combinations each day that change day to day.
I’ve never been here and not had to wait a minimum of 10 – 15 minutes. It’s no one’s fault — they are small — and have lots of loyal customers. I’ve never had a bad experience with the staff here — always very nice and accommodating. They will make an announcement to the line when a flavor is running low or out so there is no surprises.
Worth a visit if you have never tried it. The difference between Amy’s Ice Cream and store bought is night and day. They don’t even compare!

When you live north, it’s places like Amy’s that prove you still live in Austin.
This Amy’s is close to the iFly skydiving place in the new «Austinville» center. If the iFly sign/​building isn’t big enough, just past is Mainevent. If you’re coming from south 183, get off at the Anderson Mill exit… if coming from north, take the mcneil exit, flip a u-​turn and head north up the frontage road.
These staff (as always) is very friendly, and like to get creative with their work, eithe rin the form of fancy ice cream flips, quote guessing games for free toppings, or just general Austiness.
Amy’s also stays open relatively late. A friend and I were able to get in before 10pm.
The selection is decent, but their combinations (and names for those combinatinos) are what expands the menu… some favorites: the TMNT and the Beyonce. I am very boring, so my usual is Mexican Vanilla on a cake cone dunked in rainbow sprinkles… no big deal.
The prices are also great, no super high gelato prices here!

I’m still new to the Austin area, but thankfully can rely on my lovely sister for recommendations as she went to college here. She has never led me wrong, so when she told me about Amy’s I already knew it would be a winner. I have two words for you if you go here. Mexican vanilla. Where has this flavor been hiding all my life?!
It’s vanilla amplified to a level of delicious so mind numbing it’s other worldly. The flavor is so rich and luxurious it is worthy of bottling and wearing around my neck. Just order it. Please.
They also have sundaes, and a ton of mix ins like candy, cookies, and warm sauces and assemble them for you just like they do at marble slab. Just wow
