Great food but it was a little bland. Easy to find on Rainy St. Overall a great find!

One of my favorite places to eat in Austin. The feel is more hipster, they play hip hop music. The food is so good. Everything I’ve eaten there is delicious. The staff are friendly and the service is great. One taco averages almost $ 5 and the Popsicle are $ 4 and definitely worth trying.

Got the Al Pastor tacos. Fine but not anything to go out of your way for. Pork was a bit dry and felt pricey at $ 8.25 for 2 tacos and no side. Surprised they are a $ listing. Seems wrong based on looking at the menu. I would explore another truck next time.

This is definitely one of my 2 favorite taco spots in Austin! The beef and chicken fajita tacos are pretty amazing — and we just stopped by for breakfast tacos that were delish! It’s open late too and super conveniently located right on Rainey st — so if you’re out on the town it’s a great food stop! I wish they had a 2nd location!

Subpar tacos and overpriced!!! My boyfriend lives on Rainey so we went to this taco trailer one night since it was the closest taco place to his apartment. We ordered the fajita beef and fajita chicken tacos with a Mexican Coke. The 4 tacos came out to be in tiny portions. The flour tortillas were normal HEB flour tortillas but there was barely any filling of meat(there were like 4 strips the length of a girl index finger in each of the tacos) and we paid around $ 23 dollars with tips included! At the price we paid for these tacos, I thought they would be some really great tacos like Tacodeli but no, they were just like any tacos that an amateur can make at home with some salt, pepper, meat, tortillas and a pan. I’m not too sure on how others can rate these tacos good if they have had Torchy’s, Veracruz, or Tacodeli tacos. I wouldn’t recommend this trailer unless you’re absolutely drunk after a night out on Rainey and no other place is open for some post drinking food! Austin has too many other good taco places and taco food truck to get your taco craving!

So I am just going to cut to the chase with this review – When in Austin, just come and check out this place while you are in the area. There are a few good bars around and everybody gets hungry either before or after a few hours of kicking back and having a few drinks. The food is pretty damn good(of course that is m opinion) but this is a fun little food truck with a few picnic tables and a relaxing vibe. That’s it — Does anything else need to be said about this place, I think not

Such great tacos! The guy taking orders was also cooking. He was super busy but still got out my pastor tacos without delay. Plus he was cute.

Melt in your mouth tacos! It was my first time in that area and its place I will definitely come back too. the food truck stand is next to bars so after having drinks this is the place to go! At first I thought two tacos were not going to be enough but the Taco Brisket is worth it and yes TWO is just fine. The brisket melts in your mouth and when you add the green sauce it puts a kick to it. I normally only eat tacos with corn tortillas and the combination was amazing. My new go to spot

Please explain to me why your meats are so spicy. I assume that it’s to cover up a lack of flavor/quality, because that’s the only reason I can think of that you wanted to kill my taste buds. If you do come here, get the beef tacos, the pork seasonings were way too much. Beef had a little more flavor, although still can’t say I was super impressed.

Decent tacos. Hubby and I were satisfied, but not impressed. I ordered the Beef & Potato taco and Chicken Quesadilla taco. It wasn’t greasy and all the ingredients seemed nice and fresh — but neither one of us felt that our tacos had much flavor(and yes, we did add sauce to them — it helped a little). I’m sorry, but this place doesn’t have anything on Torchy’s. The guy was SUPERNICE so that’s a plus. And there were 2 kittens running around the picnic tables for entertainment, so another plus(unless you’re allergic to cats, or cuteness). Bottom line — you’re not going to have a bad meal. Just not a great one.

So here’s the skinny on this bad ass taco trailer… I was working in the area and it was the only food establishment open on Rainey St. The aroma coming out of the window was pure pastor all the way… which is one of my favorites. I ordered 2 tacos, which come on 6″ flour tortillas, and they do have a corn option, which they double up on and are 5″ tortillas. I got one al pastor and one beef fajita. They come LOADED. They also come with all the traditional fix’ns…that’s fixings, for all you not from the south. I went for my fajita first, only because I always save the pastor for last. The meat was tender, flavorful, and just straight up delicious. The pastor, well, I would rank it in my top 5 places to get some damn good pastor. I will most definitely be back to try the chicken fajita on my next visit… you need to make your next visit… right now.

Well made tacos and burritos on Rainey Street. Portions are standard, and by that I mean don’t expect to be stuffed to the brim like you would be had you gone to Chipotle. Simple menu with all the mexican variations you would expect. If you’re coming to the Food trucks on Rainey on a Monday be prepared for them all to be closed, except Art of Tacos.

The only reason I would give this place one star is for the great and friendly service. I ordered two beef fajita tacos around lunch time. It was a pretty short wait for the food. I was in a hurry so I ordered the tacos to go and would eat them in the car. The tacos were so bland. The beef fajita tasted like it was made days ago with very little seasoning. They were chewy and very difficult to swallow, I felt like I was eating rubber. I should have realized the meat would not be fresh since there was no aroma of freshly made tacos in the air. Odds are the meat was pulled out of a fridge and straight to a flat top for re heating. All this for $ 8.50! Are you kidding me? I would expect this type of quality on Taco Tuesday at Travis county. The sign out front reads«best tacos in the world». If this were true, the taco gods would smite every living being on the planet for such a blasphemous product.

The guys in the truck were friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs. That’s always a plus. The food came out quickly and was very reasonably priced. I had the Al Pastor tacos. They tasted great but were pretty dry so I had to drown them in salsa. This brings me to my next point. The salsa was tasty and spicy! My fiancé had the steak quesadilla and that was really really good. Their tortillas taste authentic and home made. I am not sure if they are but they could be.

The theme is sorta cheesy but WHOCARESTHETACOSAREAMAZING!!! Seriously, so good. If you haven’t tried it already do so. Guy working here(may be the owner?) super freaking nice and had excellent suggestions. I’ll be back again and again.

Decent food truck parked on the Rainey St. side of town. I ordered some chicken tacos, and the chicken was decent. The hot sauce that came with it was SUPER hot. Not THE best tacos I’ve had from a food truck, but pretty decent.

There is a sign outside that says, «The Best Tacos in the World.» This is false advertising. That is a claim that only one taco establishment can back up, which is pretty difficult odds for anyone to contend with. Unfortunately, I don’t think the Art of Tacos is anywhere close. That isn’t to say that this is a bad stop after you crawl through several Rainey Street bars though. I opted for an al pastor, and a steak fajita taco. One corn tortilla, one flour(I was hedging my bets), and sour cream on both. It came out to just over $ 10 + tip… pricey for tacos, but they were stuffed with meat so I wasn’t too upset. The al pastor was very solid, and the salsa was great. The steak fajita tacos were unfortunately almost inedibly salty. Almost.* But even if they eased up on the salt, I still don’t think they had a shot at the title. ____________ *After a lot of whiskey, I will eat anything.

Te quieres Taco Bell? No busques mas! Art of Tacos beef is far superior to the grade F you are used to at your 2 am drunken binge fests. Finally you can get a burrito fit for human AND animal consumption! Art of Tacos uses fresh ingredients prepared daily. Do not expect pastor or brisket during weekend lunch hours because love takes time to develop properly.
