Austin Enviro Group

I just closed on my South Austin home built in 1980. Originally I thought I was in the asbestos clear since they stopped producing asbestos products in 1978. Much to my dismay I discovered last week that, while they did stop producing it in that year, they could still use the reserves they have!
We have popcorn removal and demolition scheduled for a week from now so I was scrambling to figure out whether we would have to deal with remediation or not. I called Ralph at Austin Enviro Group. They price their samples higher for the first, and then a lower rate for each subsequent sample. We were only doing three samples so while his rate was $ 5 cheaper than the other game in town, I mostly chose him because Ralph was so nice and knowledgeable on the phone. He had great advice on how and from where to take the samples.
My day was super hectic, so Ralph actually came and met me to pick them up. He estimated that I would get results in 3 – 4 days — which fit with our demo timeline — but I ended up receiving them the next day!
Luckily we’re now officially asbestos free!
