Austin Helping Hands

I’ve used Art and his assistant twice and was very happy with their on-​time and professional service. I noticed the reviews are uneven, but my experiences with Helping Hands have been great. Reasonable rates and I can count on these guys to be on time and very efficient at unloading my uhaul and even gave me furniture arrangement suggestions!

Had the pleasure of working with these guys this past weekend, and it went great. They were actually early, but didn’t raise any issues about waiting until my scheduled time for me to be ready and get the keys to our new place. Art and his assistant were super friendly and professional. They took care with my furniture to make sure nothing was damaged and positively implemented my input with regards to to getting around this tight corner into our new apartment as well. They were very helpful and very timely, working hard until time was up, and making an effort to finish on time too. Great service for a great price!

We used Austin helping hands twice. The first time mostly everything went smoothly except they were 30 min late. We had some more stuff coming in the next weekend and hired them again. He acted annoyed that it was at 5pm for a moving the next weekend but he said okay. I contacted him later in the week to confirm and told him it was a possibility that our stuff could arrive earlier and if they’d be available. He said yes they would that they had no other jobs but one early that morning. So Saturday rolls around and it looks like we’ll be getting into Austin two hours early so I notified him, he said okay, let me text you at 2 and let you know where we’re at. 2:40 rolls around and nothing. I reach out again, and he tells me they had another job but he should be about an hour and then he’ll be here. No call, no show and it’s about 430 and this point. We call and he tells us that one of the guys will be there soon, he’s really close. We tell him, that we hired two people not one. No show. So we call AGAIN and he tells us that the other guy is there at our apartment. No he’s not! So after this guy just giving us the run around for two hours finally the other guy shows up at 520, and is very apologetic and he wasn’t even supposed to be working!
Damien ends up doing a great job and gets it done by himself in 40 minutes. We end up paying him directly and not Austin Helping Hands. I text Art and told him he wasn’t needed because it’s getting done now and he replies «okay, sorry, I’ll turn around». Not only did he not do anything, he didn’t show up to handle this matter, instead left it up to one of his employees. If you can’t be early or be on time, let your client know, don’t BS and give customers the run-​around. I would defiantly NOT recommend Austin Helping Hands for any of your moving services.

one star is being generous. they showed up, but that was about the best I could say. the over all vibe I got was that they had someplace else they would rather be. they damaged out box springs, a dresser and my cmputer desk and the attitude was one of oh well we damaged it. they were informed it was a second floor apartment well over a week prior to the move in date, but acted surprised and irritated that it was a second floor apartment. maybe we wpuld have gotten better service if we were moving house out in Lakeway rather than Pleasant Hill. if you do use this company, I would watch them closely to make sure to keep a close eye on them to to reduce damages to your goods.

First, they were EARLY! Second, they were QUICK! They were CAREFUL, very FRIENDLY, and PROFESSIONAL.
I highly recommend him; he owns the business and has been doing this for years. A great small, LOCAL company!
I will definitely be calling Art again for my next move! (I move every year or so…)

These guys are amazing! Flexible with time and efficient. I was amazed how quickly our moving truck was emptied by these guys. They were also very friendly and did the work of three plus guys even though only two were here. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone!

Very reliable and competent movers. Just tell them your needs and they get the job done. Full livingroom, Dining room, 2 bedrooms, and about 80 boxes of mixed heavy/​medium load. All done in 3.5hrs for $ 220. Most of the boxes were near the front door or stacked near the garage door ready to be loaded. Will definately use them again. Thanks guys!!!
