Amazing! Having attended tons of music festivals in Austin and finding myself rather less than pleased with the shift from focusing on music to focusing on making money. Austin Psych Fest has it all. The music was top notch and they didn’t have so many stages resulting in missing bands or having to pick favorites. Plenty of shade for us pale folks and plenty of room since they don’t oversell the festival. I never felt squished or like I couldn’t dance if I wanted to. Food was awesome, but my only complaint is that most of the food trailers were not selling drinks since they were sold at the alcohol/drink booths. This would not be a problem except that the lines were constantly insane for beverages and due to timing I had to eat without a drink or eat in line while I waited. One of the stages backs up to a creek and it is flat out gorgeous. At night one of the bands projected images on the trees across the creek making for a terriffic light show. Parking is decent and plentiful. However, due to the late times for some of the bands, I highly advise folks think about camping on site. There were a couple of times where a light nap would’ve been nice and having a tent to rest is a smart option. If you like psych music, don’t miss out on Austin Psych Fest.
