These folks were here within minutes with of a 911 call. They quite literally saved the Lady’s life in early December and actually prevented a trip to the Emergency Room and massive costs. Insurance was a bit complex, but was just settled out today with the secondary insurance. An excellent team was here and even put up with the Twin cats, Moose and Squirrel trying to assist. Hats off! Well done!

The police and fire don’t charge for their gas or their emergency services. But these people will bill you and big time for their ‘specialized service’ in their emergency situation. Obviously something is broken here and big time. These people are upset that so few people are paying astronomically absurd ambulance bills – but failing to look in the mirror at themselves and shoddy business practices. It’s better to just find a way to transport yourself or a loved one to the hospital at all costs.

Kick ass paramedics that make the AFD emt’s look like school kids. Come on, if you need medical help in the urban jungle these are the pros to call. If you are worried about billing, it is because you are an unemployed hipster. It isn’t free folks. Just like your gas and electric bill. If you don’t need EMS you can always drive your broke ass to the minor emergency center or your doc’s office. Plan a little, don’t whine a lot.

Who you gonna call? Austin-Travis County EMS, that’s who! Overall, a fine group of EMTs, backed by the able assistance of the fine men and women at the Austin Fire Department. Of course, there are no options when it comes to priority emergency medical transport and life support in this area, but it’s good to know you have the best available. And we do. Minus one star for the dealings with their billing office on insurance claims. Mistakes are made about one-third of the time, and getting them corrected is both tedious and time-consuming. The billing office often blames the field notes or the customer, but fails to reference the 911 call tapes to verify patient claims. Things don’t always work out, and you are sometimes left holding a very expensive bag that should have been paid for.
