I went to Paul, although a 45 min one-​way distance from my home, based on a recommendation. Oil changes are certainly acceptable; however, I also had my front and rear brakes replaced. After two months the RR caliper and pads had to again be replaced due to caliper failure — which should have been replaced when the initial work was done. Paul did warranty his work and replaced the failed caliper and brake pad, with charges only for parts. So far so good. However, just 3 months later, the RR brake pads that were replaced have started to become noisy (clanging). After having the dealership evaluate, it turns out the Disk Hardware Kit — which includes essential disk pad retainer clips — was never installed. The pads are thus «floating», which is resulting in premature wear of the almost new pads, caliper and rotor. I’ve identified this problem to Paul who simply identified a part number to me for the missing parts — I guess assuming I should procure them myself?! I advised him that these parts were integral to the brake job he performed and that he needed to do what was necessary to correct his error. No response was ever received. Nice guy, but work is not even close to what should be just basic expectations from a certified mechanic. Needless to say, my last visit to him.

Paul Greenleaf is simply the best, most honest auto repair guy I’ve ever met. He’s so good that I’m a little ambivalent about posting such a glowing review on Unilocal ’cause I’m afraid he’ll be swamped. It’s a one-​man-​shop so keep that in mind. But trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
