Amazing burger. Get it with a fried egg and lemonade. Love the thin home style fries!

Adorable little hole in the wall sort of house that is bacon-crazy! Tons of bacon/porky dishes — but I ordered the chicken tenders. SUPER delish! Served with a balcony gravy, and I got a veggie side instead of fries. Even that was bacon-Y! It was zucchini and squash in a bacon/lemon butter! So unexpected. Never judge a restaurant by its cover! ^_^

Their bacon, as you would guess, is the staple of the menu. The house bacon and the normal bacon are both very good. My favorite item on the menu is their biscuits and bacon gravy, because it’s delicious and you get A TON of food for very little $.

We saw this place on TV and had to try it. We had the chicken and waffles, added bacon to the waffle for an up charge. Big bits of bacon baked into the waffle. The servings are big and it was tasty! The bacon fries and pulled pork sandwich was also very good. However, they are slow and the staff was not very friendly is the one downside. If they want the door to stay shut while people wait in line, then they should put up a sign rather than being rude about it.

Went here after trying another place that keeps random hours, but boy am I glad I tried Bacon! I know it’s been around for awhile, but kept putting off trying it since I envisioned bacon being unnecessarily infused into everything. This place was like I died and went to piggy heaven. We had the French toast, and a couple of tacos and everything was delicious, hot and fresh. We only tried two types of bacon, 1 was a thin and crispy(which it was) think it had some maple in there since it was a little sweet. 2 was their house thick bacon mmmm, delicious! The build your own tacos were yummy and very filled. Had pulled pork(very tasty, but not a lot of smoke flavor) and black bean and house bacon. The only regret I have is not trying their chicken n waffles, it looked huge and tasty. I’ll get that next time I’m in.

The food is great if you don’t mind waiting. I really wanted to like this place but the staff here is not well equipped to manage a rush. I waited in line outside for 20 minutes and was finally able to place an order. After waiting patiently for another 40 minutes I was told they lost my order and they had to replace it. After another 8 – 10 minutes, I was finally served. The Chicken and Waffles is their most popular item and it does not even come with bacon as the restaurant name might imply. That detail aside you can add as a side for $ 1 a strip. I opted for their garlic pepper bacon. The food itself was great and it was a pretty large portion. I might come back if I knew it was going to be slow for them.

Loved the chicken and waffles! The chicken was seasoned and fried beautifully and the waffle had big bits of bacon in it! It doesn’t get better than that! My friend also had the chicken salad with big bits of bacon, chopped fried chicken, avocado slices, eggs, cheese etc! All very delicious

After being led from one predictably trendy restaurant to another in Austin, I was very relieved to be sitting at Bacon, enjoying a delicious slab of meat at lunchtime. As a New Yorker visiting Texas, I want to enjoy simple and scrumptious meat. My bacon burger was solid, and I don’t throw compliments around to every pretty burger I meet. Thank you, Bacon, for the only good meal I had in Austin on this particular trip.

Some time has passed now since I first went to bacon. I was really excited about a restaurant dedicated to my favorite food group. I ended up going with the bacon Reuben which was sloppy, just the way I like it and how it’s supposed to be. However I think I ruined my experience because I didn’t get something that was fully bacony.

A bacon-themed restaurant? BRILLIANT! We went to bacon for lunch this weekend. It was cool that they had three bacon-of-the-day offerings. The BLT had super generous portions of thick-cut hickory bacon. SIXSLICES! We also liked the bacon fries, but who wouldn’t? We didn’t love the pulled pork sandwich. It needed more sauce. A side of BBQ sauce would have improved it and made it less dry. I wish they served booze(other than beer) because a bacon bloody mary would be a great menu addition!

Great breakfast, brunch, & lunch place. Parking is horrible Lines are horrible That being said I would recommend finding an off peak time & day to visit. Mid-morning & weekday brunch was perfect for our attempt. Friendly quick counter service. We enjoyed the Chicken BLT with a side of veggies and the Chicken & Waffles, both with the house bacon. I would recommend and order these both a again. The side of veggies with bacon sprinkled on top were perfect and I could enjoy those accompanied with any meal.

I went here on a recent trip to Austin– and now that I came to review and am planning on moving back there… I see they deliver?! Woweewoweewowee!!! Aaron M.‘s review sum up a lot of my experience. My burger was killer. The biggest disappointment of this whole restaurant is that my stomach can only handle one entrée here per day.(If that… I could’ve had leftovers easily.) The next and only other negative remark: near Sunday brunch time, the restaurant was packed with nowhere to sit inside, so we had to sit on the picnic tables outside, despite it being kind of chilly. The big birds were way too comfortable with humans and it was an active effort to keep them out from under our feet and on top of the table with our food. I’m pretty scared of birds, so this was a major negative. There was also a substantial line out the door to get in. All these things to speak to how great the place is, but I can’t help but wonder: is it time for an expansion? The ample land space(with a few parking spots you access by driving on and parking on the grass) would accommodate it, and based on them having a separate storage shed, it would go a long way.

Great place of all things Bacon! The running yoke BLT Is fantastic! Can’t go wrong with Yummy Bacon cheese fries! The ¼ «cut Bacon is really good, buy extra and take it home for later. You order at the counter and they have inside & outside seating. Your order is brought out to your table.

Came on a Saturday and the line was out the door. The wait was about 30 mins. You have to stand in line and order food and they give you a number and you seat yourself. They have outdoor and indoor seating. Ordered 2 breakfast tacos. You get to pick 3 fillings. Ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese, taco and also a pulled pork, black beans, and avocado taco. The tacos were huge and stuffed to almost overflowing. The bacon is def the star of the show. They offer 3 kinds(hickory, Tabasco, and their signature thick cut). The tacos were ok. I liked the pulled pork one more just bc it had more flavor. The bacon egg and cheese one was flavorless except for the bacon which they only put half a strip in. I would def return for the bacon. It is cooked just right. Nice and crispy. Make sure you try them all.

The chicken and waffles were some of the best I’ve had and I’ve had PLENTY. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and was cooked to a pretty golden. The waffle was like a vanilla krispy kreme donut, I wish I wouldn’t ordered one myself. Lol. I just tried a late arriving friends chicken BLT with thick house bacon was on F&$#n point. The biscuits and bacon gravy were blah, but it might have been a off day, I asked for a refund and was accommodated immediately by the manager Jeff. He came back later and said the he rated it and it was off so he gave me a gift card for another time, which was cool with me.

My boyfriend is a big fan of bacon, and I’m a vegetarian! He was very happy with their menu and food, and I was very pleased not only that they had a veggie burger, but that their veggie burger was actually really good! Cool outdoor seating along Shoal Creek! They also have some great beers! TVs inside if you need to watch some sports! Cute little place! Con: We got there right after a huge party of junior high cheerleaders on a trip and their chaperones — it was a long wait for our food. If they get busy, the food comes out of the kitchen pretty slowly.

There is a lot to love about Bacon, and only a couple of things to dislike. If you’ve read some of the other reviews, you know that there are long lines to wait in. This is due to the fact that, for whatever reason, Bacon eschews regular table service with waitstaff. Instead, they require each diner to order from a single person at a screen, then take a number to their table, where food runners bring you your order. I am guessing this is because they have a small kitchen, but still — it seems woefully inefficient. That said, holy shit but this place has awesome food. For an extra dollar, you can have their thick-cut country bacon, and you always should spend that dollar. Their chicken and waffle is the best I’ve ever had, and their«mimosa» is actually 12 ounces of sparkling wine with like a dollop of OJ. Great value. The food here is the dopest, but get in early so you’re not standing in the heat forever and ever.

Bacon is the most important meal of the day. And this is a great way to start! We walked from our hotel downtown here. About a half an hour, but totally worth it. It’s a small place, and typically has a line(so we were told), but we lucked out and didn’t wait more than 10 minutes to order. You place your orders at the front counter, grab a seat and drink your pints of mimosas(yum!) while you wait! My hubs ordered the bacon tacos with the Tabasco infused bacon(omg!) and I got the broken yolk BLT with the house made, thick cut bacon. I swear, the thing was the size of my head! The eggs were cooked to perfection and the bacon was literally falling off the lightly toasted white bread. We left to walk back to the hotel slightly tipsy and nicely satisfied. I will make this a stop every time I’m in Austin!
