I cannot begin to explain how much I enjoyed this place. They have 100 beers on tap as well as an assortment of homemade sausage sandwiches. They have a great beer garden to hang out in where you can people watch all day. I really enjoyed every minute I was there.

We sat outside in a nicely covered area. Music was playing and the seating is picnic table style. On a busy day like today, it was very tight in proximity to others and their pets. The food was presented on cafeteria trays and the bangers are uniquely paired with toppings and you pick the side. The cheese grits were amazing.

After doing a bit of bar hopping on Rainey, we were looking forward to a nightcap at Banger’s, but it was Saturday night and the place was bursting at the seams. We ended up coming back on Monday around 11am which turned out to be a great start to the day. We already knew they have a huge selection of housemade sausages and beers on tap, but that still did not prepare us with narrowing down our choices(luckily, they have a «beer bingo» to help you out with the beer choice). We finally settled on the wild boar(bold and smoky, topped with a sweet and savory tomato jam loaded with sautéed onions) and rabbit(loaded with shitake and manchego. a mild but rich counterpart to the wild boar) with a side of decadent jalapeño/bacon mac n cheese. It was way more difficult to decide on the beer, but luckily they are separated neatly by category along the wall, and we had Isaac dropping his extensive beer knowledge(and hilariously frank opinions) on us. Speaking of Isaac, he sealed the deal for us, we would absolutely return if we were ever back in town. I really enjoy beer halls and Banger’s was no exception.

Went here and was pretty hungry, and we figured it wouldn’t take too long because it’s sausage. Wrong. We ordered an appetizer so we could munch on something while we waited, and it never came out. Finally our food came, but it took longer than most restaurants. We had to remind our waitress that we never got the app, so she brought it out eventually. However, once we did get the food it was tasty, and the atmosphere was great. There were heat lamps outside, and even though it was a Sunday it was a 3 day weekend so they had a live band that started playing. The price was good too, so overall, once we got our food, I was happy. Oh, and probably a great spot for large groups, because its beer garden style so there is lots of room. Or its a fun place to make new friends :)

Bangers has become an Austin favorite in just a few short but bountiful years. They make everything in house, from their mustard and pickles to their sausage. Their specialty is hand crafted small batch artisanal sausage and one of the largest selections of beers on tap with 104 beers in total. Bring your friends, be ready to leave full and happy.

Delicious sausages and a super great beer list. I had a venison sausage and a few local craft beers. Casual atmosphere, but very nice. Love the décor in here. Great place for a date. Huge outdoor area is probably great when the weather is nice.

This place is where it’s all at! They have a wide selection of draft beers and ciders. They have«bangers» which are pretty much fancy hotdogs which I don’t think are all that but a lot of Austin people do so maybe it’s just me. The hotdogs are a bit too chewy, gamey, and the bread always seems too dry and doughy for my taste. I do love the cheese fries here, they are REALLY amazing! I also love the«snickers in a jar» dessert! The ambience here is amazing and is a must see if you are wanting to be outdoors on a nice patio enjoying a cold beer with your friends! Parking is TERRIBLE so get ready to search your butt off for parking. Be careful where you park also because there are a LOT of police driving around here wanting to give out parking tickets. Once you do find parking though. there are so many places to just walk around and visit so you’re pretty much set for the night. I love this place and would bring anyone from out of town here if I needed to show them a nice Austinite spot!

104 beers on tap? Shut the front door. On our first night in ATX, we ended up at Bangers which is located on Rainey Street. Don’t even bother hitting up 6th street — definitely bop around Rainey and check out their local food trucks, bars & restaurants. Bangers was a must try for my beau and I, obviously because you can’t go wrong with sausage and beer. Bangers feels like an upscale beer hall. I can only imagine how crazy this place gets during Ocktoberfest! We were able to be seated immediately and enjoyed a few beers and a sausage & poutine fries. Love the atmosphere, location and vibe. There is a large outdoor eating area here where local bands play and I’ve even heard they have«secret» shows here… like Justin Bieber(say whatttt). If I’m ever back in ATX, I’ll definitely make an effort to swing by again.

Great atmosphere, great beer selection. If you’re into craft beers this is definitely a place to go. Not to mention that Rainey St. is an awesome place to visit. 6th St. is fun for only so long. If you’re in Austin and want to try something different, start here My recommendation: Pecan Porter Aged in Whiskey Barrel

Cool place to just chill, munch and drink some brew! Love the vibe here and the servers are super friendly and helpful. I was undecided between the chili cheese fries and the poutine fries… so the server said he would ask the kitchen to do half orders of them both for a small order. He said I was the first person to get that! I’m so glad he hooked me up and got to try both! I defiantly preferred the chili cheese fries. I also got the andouille dog. spicy little kick with bold flavor! Also I loved the sour beers they had on tap. What a cool find while I was here in Austin! Great environment and don’t forget to ask for samples of the beer!

We were taking a walk along the river and decided to take a break and have a beer. Neither my friend nor I had ever been here before and we were pleasantly surprised. The idea was that we would hang out in the back but the reality was that we never made it past the bar. Isaac, the bartender on duty gave us some excellent tips on beers and we had two«flights» …trays with four small tasting glasses. With over 100 beers I will be back to try some more, although like cable TV how many choices do you actually need? *the ambience is nice in the afternoon *the selection is outstanding ***yes that’s right, 3stars for the bartender.

I found out about this place from the lovely May who told me about the mac and cheese. You don’t have to tell me twice about mac and cheese. As soooooon as the plane landed, I drove straight to this place and ordered myself a nice cold one and the famous mac and cheese. I’m surprised no one talked about it. It’s called the jalapeño mac and cheese and I made the executive decision to add chili. It was so good that I planned my drive back from San Antonio to Austin to be able to get the mac and cheese one more time before I flew back to CA. Except that it was closed. And now, I’m looking at the hours and it doesn’t make sense. Did Google maps lie to me? Was I robbed of my second mac and cheese?! Anyway, sooo delish! There is also an area outside to socialize and drink your beer. This place made me reaaaaaally like Austin. I mean it just encompasses the whole feel and vibe of Austin. I started looking for jobs after coming to this place.

Banger’s is everything I ever hoped Wurstfest would be… but BETTER. An almost perfect representation of a German biergarten — huge, primo selection of beers, tons of which are local. Fantastic food(holy cow, that poutine… YES! And the currywurst! Even a sausage for dogs — Woofwurst — is on the extensive menu… LOVE it!(Word to the wise, however… DONOT get a Woofwurst unless your pup is there with you to consume it on-site. Really. Just *don’t*. Brought one home for my buddy last week, and my car still reeks like the song of a thousand asses… it’s truly wretched, foul-smelling. Pup wanted to roll in it before he ate it: stank!)) Atmosphere: about as Bavarian chill as Austin can possibly get. Huge outdoor«yard», many picnic tables and trees, Edison bulb type lights strung overhead, firepit, stage for live music… I really can’t think of many better ways to kick back and enjoy a great craft brew. One star docked for the occasionally-bordering-on-often haughty staff ‘tude, and the tendency to gravitate toward surplus pride in the pricing(ie raffling off the«opportunity» to pay $ 130 for a $ 60 retail bottle of a Budweiser product at a recent event… LOL, nooooope.)

Judge a book by its cover? I must have been wasted when I ordered this because I hate grits and ordered them for no apparent reason other than I was drunk. Shrimp sausage? WTHEF? Yes I was on a four day bender with my buddies for my friend’s bachelor party. Haha! First off, we were all drinking beers and we’re having a great time in the backyard. I guess that’s what you would call it. It’s not a patio because the space was so large. Everyone ordered and got their snausages, all of which were delivered and displayed on these prideful racks except for mine. My snausage came on an oversized platter laid over a bed of grits without a bun. What a freakin’ let down. Holy smokes it was so insanely weak that everyone was laughing hysterically at the presentation. Although I was disappointed, I couldn’t help but laugh my ass off. It was so wack, check out my photo. Haha! On to the flavors — BBQ Bacon and Shrimp sausage with white cheddar grits. The snausage was incredibly good. It was so extremely good, I can’t get over it. It had that salty smokey bacon flavor with strong notes of shrimp in the background, but not fishy. It was definitely one of the most interesting sausages I’ve ever had. This flavor was then offset by the creamy cheese grits. I was super impressed with theses grits. I hate grits! What the hell is wrong with me??? Well what the hell, it was damn good and paired nicely with the bacon shrimp sausage. Well done!!! I’ll definitely come back to kick it and try the other brats and sausages. The backyard ambiance was legit and they must have had 100 beers on tap. What a great spot! Highly recommend!

Love love love the live music. Yet to find a good sausage. Fun beer flights though. Great place to hang out and destress on a weekend night on Rainey street. Poutine was a strong Texas attempt of Canadian poutine. It just wasn’t there– I think it was the gravy with the curds. It wasn’t too tasty alone, but was better with the beer. All the fries were that way. I still give it a 4 because it’s a place you should try. It really represents Austin.

This bar/restaurant in the heart of Rainey street is awesome. Known for the endless options of sausage and beer, it’s a great place to start your Rainey adventure. Fill up on some yummy food and one of their 50+ beers on tap, and stay for the live music and dogs galore in the outdoor seating. Bangers also is a great brunch spot for Sunday funday, especially with their signature manmosa(a whole champagne bottle in a huge mug with a splash of orange juice) — only $ 10 on Sunday’s! Some good food I’ve had here: sun dried tomato infused chicken sausage(excellent), veggie blt sausage(not so great), and pulled pork from a smoke out Saturday. I highly recommend trying out their special smoked meats on Saturdays– usually smoked for 24 hrs so the flavors are delicious. Fun crowds, not so great service on busy days, but a good time nonetheless!

Unfortunately, we came to Banger’s on an off night. I say this with confidence since their kitchen was under renovation so their menu items were quite limited. As I was not here for the beer(alcohol allergy), I was immediately made sad by this news. Yes, the beer faucets aplenty was cool. The sight of their numerous beers lit up the face of my companions(who were very much at Banger’s for the beer), but I am writing this review and they are not, right? So I happily asked for the menu and saw Louisiana Lightning but was denied almost immediately *sad sigh*. I settled on the drunk chicken which was alright but was not something I would go back for. The atmosphere was great — fun-loving crowd, cool seating — which is why I am willing to give them another go next time I am in Austin.

I really liked this place! The service was slow, but the place was absolutely packed with people. Very unique feel here — sitting outdoors under the barn on wooden benches. The evening weather wasn’t too hot. Just make sure you get enough space when you sit down next to your neighbors . I ordered the milk stout beer shake and loved it — I recommend this to any stout drinker who enjoyed the pastime of a goo ol’ root beer float. The brauts were top notch — the bread was soft and supple, & everything came out hot.

My first introduction to Rainey street and boy, it did not disappoint. Live music, lively crowd, a million beers to choose from. Did I die and go to heaven? The seating outside is communal and we arrived at the perfect time because our group of 6 didn’t have to wait at all. Our server Ethan was funny and offered great suggestions on food and beer which was great because I am probably the most indecisive person in the world. Get the chili cheese fries! BTW, the big is BIG. Like whole tray of cafeteria tots size big. Great place!
