No class saw one guy marry to bottles of vodka highly against the law. the door men are straight ass holes unless you have boobs to be honest. The drinks are just drinks unless you get beer your drink is like water. Ask for a vodka sour and didn’t understand it and made a whiskey sour. Dj they norm have plays like 90’s hits but for 20 sec and then changes it. All around a shit of a bar.

Chris from Chicago was incredibly friendly and attentive. We didn’t eat here but we tried the Fire Eagle and Thirsty Goat. We will definitely come back on Saturday based on his recommendation. He also was nice enough to give us a run down of the city and offer the hot spots.

Racist door guys. Denied my friends from entering for simply wearing a Kurta. I will never come back here.

Weekends and over 27-years-old? …Eh, maybe even 25. Avoid. Weekdays, however, on a nice night with a solid group of friends(especially out-of-towners), drop in to Blind Pig Pub for live tunes upstairs, cheap drinks and many photo ops with their multiple Austin murals. You can def tell by the weekday crowd the demo tends to skew a bit older, a lot more«convention”-ey type … like the folks in town for a conference just dying to get out and play giant Jenga. BTW, the giant Jenga gets really loud and annoying at Blind Pig Pub — and anywhere else for that matter. Again, drinks were cheap, barkeep was cool(and cute), and the wine wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t make this my regular spot, but it’s a must if you’re entertaining a large group of visitors, friends, family or colleagues.

Decent drink specials but the best part is the rooftop bar with a great view of 6th street. Grab a table by the railing and listen to a band while you people watch from the roof.

I really like The Blind Pig! It has three different areas to it. All with a different kind of vibe. The front of The Blond Pig immediately has a bar, that is always pretty busy. Crowded with thirsty guys buying drinks for literally thirsty girls. They have a small area carved out for an acoustic set to play live, typically country vibe. If you push through the crowd, you will pass the bathrooms(always clean) and Mario cart(always fun) and then get to the back of the bar where there is another bar. This area is covered, but outside. It is really chill and typically they have on sports or the GOP Debates, which we love. There aren’t any barstools, so this is standing only. They also have some hoops to shoot over here. The rooftop is personally my favorite area. It has places to sit and stand. The bar is really big and spread out evenly. The stage up here is suited for live full bands, so we love to come up here to see friends play live. All around great bar and always a good experience at the Blind Pig.

Rumor has it that the weekends are crazy with frat boys looking to get their drink on. Lucky for us, we we went on a Tuesday, so it wasn’t too busy and they had live music going on upstairs and down for anyone that cared to listen. Upstairs was a reggae, surf-rock group that did covers in that kind of style. Not keen on that type of music, but I did like trying to figure what song they were actually covering. Downstairs was more of a jam-sesh type, and was definitely a little bit more of a rowdy crowd. For drinks, they’re cheap. Ordered our group a round that consisted of two beers, a Jameson and ginger, a glass of wine, and a vodka soda. All this goodness came out to a tab of $ 20 and I couldn’t have been happier. Since the upstairs is outside, it was a great way to spend a cool Austin night with friends. Though we didn’t play, patrons took their giant Jenga seriously as cheers and screams would frequently erupt as the big wooden blocks began to tumble. I’d come back, especially for their no-frill, easy on the wallet sips.

Every time I come here I always feel welcomed and at home. Chris, the downstairs bartender, is by a cutie and very attentive. They normally book a live artist and have an upstairs section that overlooks 6th street. Stop by give it a try and you’ll find yourself returning time and time again. Entertainment and conveniently priced specials will have you coming back time and time again.

This bar was alright… I mean they have alcohol so the meet the minimum requirement, but past that it isn’t a place I would go back to. They had live music when I was there which was cool, but the beer was flat and over priced and the bartenders are too busy trying to hit on drunk girls to actually do their job.

It’s hard to know which 6th street bar to visit with a bevy of live music blasting and drink specials being yelled on the sidewalk. On a warm night in the winter, the live music blasting from the open air roof terrace of Blind Pig called us in. Downstairs is a bar with a decent amount of seating, a few arcade games, and a pretty solid selection of beer. Upstairs is the expansive terrace with a stage, another bar, and a few tables. While the band played 70s hits, we got a round of Austin craft beers and played giant Jenga on a table. The arcade games, especially Mario Kart were also a blast. Sadly the band took a lengthy break after we finished our round, so we headed out to the next bar.

We wandered in here seeking refuge from the craziness of 6th Street on a Saturday night(we are way past those college days!) There was no cover charge, but there was a decent cover band playing mostly 90s alt/rock on the rooftop patio. Probably a solid 3.5 stars.

Been here twice now for both my visits to Austin. Good spot to have some drinks outside, chill and listen to music. They offer games such as corn hole and big block Jenga which is always fun! Cheap drinks too: 2 vodkas and 2 beers cost me$ 27. I was sold!

My girlfriend and I always make sure to stop by here when we go down Dirty 6. They always have live music, usually cover bands that do a great job. Their happy hour is good and the Bartenders are nice. I spilt a drink after just getting it and the bartender immediately made me another, no questions asked.

Roof top that over looks Dirty 6 street, Live music, booze and a ton of cowboys and cowgirls. What’s not to like? prices are in line with the rest of the strip. it’s a dive bar so don’t expect fancy cocktails.

Drinks-pretty bad. Not many good beer options and just your average rail drinks. Like being back at college. Rooftop was cool though. They have jenga and the live music was good. Fine for your one night on dirty sixth.

I should forewarn this post by saying 6th street is only fun during the week. Otherwise the dirty 6th is a bad version of Bourbon St that doesn’t make you wanna walk in anywhere. However, on slow nights the bartenders at Blind Pig play a game with the boys over at chugging monkey. If you’re a good looking, good tipping, out of towner you may be lucky enough to get the pickle of the night. The pickle will probably get you a few free shots and discounts at the other bar & make for a great conversation starter. Our mistake was leaving Blind Pig too soon, but made for a great story!

Great happy hour. Great beer. Great live music, Abraham weaver. Amazing patio and great service. Thought I was going to go bar hopping but I got sucked into this place. Will be back the next time in Austin.

I have to say something negative then two positive things … The band(s) were too loud to enjoy and would not even want to hang out there. The positive is that downstairs we played video games, drank some good drinks, and enjoyed the vibe. The second positive is that we enjoyed Joe Vega. We requested multiple songs, tipped him well and enjoyed his vibe. If he played in Los Angeles I would totally go see him. Just a nice casual sound.

How can you go wrong with a place named Blind Pig Pub? Its a wonderful dive bar right in the heart of 6th street craziness. The drinks were cheap and the service was great. It load when bands are playing but the music was excellent. Its a beer and shot joint — Austin Style,
