I am a sipper and not a shooter.
And I sing like a tubercular goat.
The drinks are better for shots than for sipping but they not absolutely awful for sipping.
The bartending staff is really really really really nice.

Got to try a flaming shot it hit me hard I recommend this place if you want to get drunk I probably drunk right now too lol

Do not go here. I came with a group of 4 other girls, ordered 1 big bang shot, and they brought 5 out. We were surprised and thought they were on the house. Afterwards, they asked for the money for all the drinks. We paid but I notified the bartender, who seemed drunk, that I had actually only ordered one. She got very upset and kept using circular logic to explain the «math». I repeated that I understand the prices but I had only ordered one drink. Since we had paid for all 5, we turned to leave when she yelled «bye, felicia» at us. Very mature.
I truly believe they were trying to scam us and knew exactly what was going on. So avoid this bar unless you want to lose money.

Great bar! They have karaōke Sunday-​Wednesday which is always a lot of fun, and on the weekends they always have amazing music playing with great drink specials.

A very small bar but it wasn’t too crowded so I didn’t mind.
We got to watch the bartender blow fire and set drinks on fire, which you can order for a surprisingly cheap price. It was a really cool thing to see!
The music here was the perfect sound level– loud, but not overly loud, so you can talk to your friends without having to scream over the music. Also, the selection they were playing was great.
The drinks here were super cheap and really delicious.

Love this place! There is no place I’d rather chill and knock a few back than here. During the weekend it’s packed with college kids and flaming dr. peppers, but during the week it’s a lot more chill and even has Karaōke Sun-​Wed. The staff is superb and friendly, the drinks are cheap, and the environment is great.

Holy crap, you’re drunk on dirty six. Where should you go? Have you heard of a flaming dr pepper? No? Then go here and order one. It may smell like farts, but it’s the epitome of a dirty six dive, so just take it in.

I loved the big bang shot, it was amazing and well priced!
The cute guy outside advertising the bar had the best people skills and was so so nice to talk to.
I loved the couches and the music was good.

This place is definitely for shots and not really for hanging around. They have this fun, yummy shot drink called The Big Bang that has one kamikaze shot and who knows what else, but they set it on fire. Shortly after serving our drink, our bartender even spit fire!

My boyfriend and I were really intrigued by the name. It could sound like a cool bar, but once we walked in, we wanted to walk out. We decided to give it a try, it’s not fair to judge a bar by its’ cover so we stayed. The space is very long and narrow. The bar takes up most of the space and there’s some room in the front with couches and some room in the back for standing. The place looked a bit dingy, not well kept at all. The couches looked old and dirty and the floors were all sticky.
I did like their music, it was very upbeat, very clubby type music. But there was no room to dance. The worst part was the inconsistency between the bartenders. We saw a bartender put together the big bang shot and he lit what I think is a sugar cube on fire and it looked really cool. My boyfriend saw it and wanted to get it, but he waited until he finished the drink in his hand. By then, the bartender who we saw make the big bang shot was already gone. So we asked someone else to make it. She made the shot, but didn’t light the sugar cube on fire, which was pretty much why my boyfriend got it in the first place. Talk about disappointing.
Overall, maybe good if you want to take cool shots, but definitely not one of my favorite bars in Austin. Won’t be back here again.

Very friendly staff. Nice dj music and a bit of a dance floor to enjoy it on. Long bar almost the length of the building. Cool vintage decore. Awesome drink prices. Only place I know where you can get $ 2 redbull and vodka and a few other good specials.

I usually make it a point to come here at some point in the night to get the Big Bang shot. It’s pricey but it’s fun to do with a group of friends. Once we went and the bartender was visibly annoyed when we ordered them. After a lot of audible sighing she reluctantly made our drinks. We took the shots, paid, left and never went back.
Aside from that night we’ve always had some fun when we’ve gone there, but it’s usually pretty empty.

My hubby and I are HUGE Big Bang Theory geeks, so when we saw the «Big Bang» bar sign while walking down dirty 6^th — complete with an atom symbol on it so clearly they were going with a BBT theme — we had to go in. Quickly realized we had stumbled into the same space before when it was called I don’t remember what.
Another huge atom symbol on the wall. And, …pretty much nothing else. Same old crappy shot bar it used to be with music blasting so loud that you can’t hear yourself breathe.
What a huge disappointment! I’m aware of copyright infringements, etc.; however, come on! Not even of poster, a picture, a freaking Spock figurine!!! This place is a joke…
…and so is this, complements of Dr. Sheldon Cooper — «A neutron walks into a bar and asks how much for a drink. The bartender replies «for you, no charge.» hahahaha Bazinga!

Bait and Switch.
Be careful of your bill. Sidewalk guy brings you in for $ 2 long islands, then it turns out, after you get the bill, that only the 1^st drink is $ 2… the rest full price. Bathrooms are gross, too.

This place is more of a shot bar. It’s the kind of place you go to fuel your drunkenness, and then move on.
The atmosphere isn’t great. This place is always empty. They play the music too loudly, which would be fine for a club, but not a bar.
I’ll give them this much, they have really intricate, and delicious shots, and they serve absinthe (american version, of course). And all of their bartenders are quick, and really nice.
