A 1:30am last drink stop on a Saturday found us on the now referred to «dirty sixth», where the bar top at 512 was appropriately sticky, the crowd refreshingly friendly laid back and diverse and the poppy hip hop dance music loud and slightly obnoxious. We scored stiff drinks and headed up the back smelly stair way to the top open patio. The divey unkept digs(read — falling apart) provided a element of happy survival and accentuated the convivial young drinkers. 512 has a gritty urban feel that worked well in a bar hop rotation, but I’d recommend showing up buzzed and drinking heavy to get the real experience, and don’t wear anything you would mind getting stained or something spilled on. Diverse friendly crowd — 5 stars Dirty digs — 2 stars. Drinks and service — 4 stars

Bathroom looked like something from a developing country. Dead roach floating in the clogged sink. Toilet looked like a Jackson Pollack. Went on a Thursday night, because from the street it looked like there was a nice upstairs patio over looking 6th street. When my date and I went upstairs, the DJ was set up next to the railing so in order to enjoy leaning out over 6th street you had to hazard bumping into the DJ.

This place is awesome! Great staff, decent priced drinks, and DJs are bad ass! Id go here if you want a party.

Great bar, great food during events!!! Food catered by Big Pappas; Southern comfort food, fresh and made to order. Today was fresh fried catfish, chicken fried chicken, and the charbroiled angus beef hamburgers! If you leave this place hungry, its your own fault. Bar is top notch with new improvements throughout. Bathrooms completelty redone! Love it.

A very cool bar! Went for the first time on Sunday. I don’t get the low reviews. Yes it’s dark but it’s 6th street; besides, who can resist beer pong and giant Jenga! The food was great! I had the salsa and chips and my partner had the chicken fried chicken sandwich. The salsa was just spicy enough and very fresh. The chicken was crispy and delicious!

Drinks were reasonable. I don’t believe they have food. They have beer pong and a basketball game. Décor is a bit all over. Sound system is a bit loud. They seems to have a large shot menu if that’s your poison.

My boyfriend and I used to go to 512… it got too«techno» for us. We love old school hip hop, rap, and r&b, which 512 used to play.

Went for the First time. Not a bad spot. The bartenders were really nice. Only place I’ve been to where they have beer pong and a stripper pole

This is worst bar. They suck, and I’ll never go there again! They’re nothing but crooks!

This place is the most brotacular place I’ve ever stepped into. Riders of Brohan haul around their broton packs to slay the evil brozilla broads that are tricked into coming inside. Bro Namath and Bro Montanna disapprove of this place.

This place was WAYYYYY too loud. I thought my heart was going to stop. You can’t escape the speakers! The bar is like a hallway with no tables(there is a rail along the wall though) and there’s 6 huge speakers just pumpin out horrible mixes. I went here for a company get together and I couldn’t stay. It was just too loud. They were also out of half their liquor. My husband and I asked for at least 4 different things before we found one they weren’t out of(Crown, Makers, etc). I’m a bartender too, and it’s not uncommon to be out of one thing but rarely is someone actually out of that much. Just a bummer that made me want to get drunk somewhere else. Overall, there are MUCH better bars on 6th and I wont be back to this crappy one.

Fuck this place! The bartender charged me a 20 percent tip when I checked my bank statement the next day, after I had already left a cash tip and drew a line through the tip on the receipt! WTF. Then I get on to my bank statements a few days later and they charged me an additional 30 dollars!!!

I’ll keep this brief… I won’t get into WHY I actually went here, but… I’d rather eat really spicy Indian food, poop my pants, and go line dancing in July in a club with no AC… than ever go back here. Conclusion…not a fan.

Different name(possibly owner as well) but still the same crap-tastic bar it was before(see my review on Wave). Why did I even stop by? I have a couple of friends who can’t let their early early 20s go…

The 512 Bar hosted a boat party at the lake on Memorial Day. For $ 25, they promised boats, a DJ, beer and good times, from 2 – 7. A 2 pm a few hundred people stood in the Texas sun as the staff showed up and began setting up. It’s not that we showed up, and they were a little late getting ready. They began setting up when the party was supposed to start, so we stood in the sun and watched them. Then they loaded the boat. Apparently no one counted or considered safe capacity except for the sheriff’s deputies in the boat off port, so they had to unload everyone except for staff. When they unloaded all the paying guests, it was obvious that the 100 or so «staff» still on the boat included several hangers on and favored guests. They announced to the paying, luckless mass of people baking, once again, in the sun, that they would take on a safe load and that more boats were coming to pick up the remaining guests. Had not some paying guests been on that first boat(which left the dock at 4 pm, a full two hours past the promised start to the party), I would have adopted a religion and prayed reverentially and fervently for it to sink and kill all aboard, thus adding a level of meaning to Memorial Day, when the 512 Bar killed a party before it even began.
