i was impressed with this dirt! i was also impressed with the guy you talk to on the phone, i think his name is Don — the price of Berts Dirt was comparable to some of the nurseries i talked to reviewed for dirt here on Unilocal, but Don was the only one i talked to who really seemed to know dirt, the others couldn’t really answer questions other than what the dirt was called and when they could deliver. so, i had a good experience with Don and the dirt was very nice — go Bert’s!

Three cubic yards of ‘garden’ soil with some mulch on the side. ~ $ 300. Was told it was top soil with horse manure. Wanted if for my spring garden. Competitively priced and delivered to the driveway quick. Put it in raised beds and with weed block and planted. All my squash and peppers immediately showed severe calcium deficiency(blossom end rot) and wrinkled pepper leaves. Needed a few buckets of limestone added to that dirt. So now I am adding eggshells and spraying with high calcium foliar feeding and planets/squash are doing much better. Ask for some limestone tossed in the mix or forget it altogether for garden soil.

Bert’s was great. We called asking for a last minute Saturday delivery. Though completely booked, Bert’s offered to deliver dirt before 8:00AM because we live nearby. Saturday morning, the truck was there at 7:20AM, and we had 2.25 cubic yards of garden soil dropped on our driveway. We were a little underwhelmed with the visual of 2.25 cubic yards, and thought we may have gotten ripped off or our math was off. But, both ended up being exact in the end. FYI: Bert’s delivers dirt, but minimum delivery is 3 cubic yards. If you need less than 3 cubic yards delivered to your site, you will be charged for 3 cubic yards. The extra charge was well worth the amount of time, gas, and labor we would have spent bagging it ourselves or purchasing pre-bagged and transporting it home.

Yes, I am reviewing dirt. We got 4 yards(which roughly translates to an ASSLOAD) of dirt delivered to our home for our garden. How long did it take to get delivery? 24 hours. We got super top grade topsoil, half compost delivered to our door(really to our driveway). Bert was very friendly and efficient. Our veggies and herbs are going to be extra happy this year!
