I was heading into the lab to get some work done late Saturday morning, and decided to stop here and get breakfast to take with me. There were a few people ahead of me in line(but they seemed to be ordering for more than their number). From ordering to getting my food was probably 20 minutes. Since I’m so petite and such a light eater, I got the Gloria Gaynor. It’s oh, so good! And a fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was really excellent. Waiting for the food in the bright sun replenished my vitamin D levels. The next time I’ll be smart and order on-line before leaving home, and then everything will be perfect.

I’m not a fan of B&G’s so I didn’t pick this place. My girlfriend loves them and was her pick for breakfast. After reading over their menu I found something and after a couple minutes was handed a basket of homemade biscuits, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, bacon, gravy, jalapeños. It was very good and may have changed my mind on how B&G’s can be prepared. If you’re in need of a breakfast place try this truck out! You won’t be disappointed.

Finally found some good biscuits and gravy! Their bacon is great as well. This place is also very reasonably priced. Hopefully they don’t get too trendy and lose their quality

I wrote this as a tip but I think it warrants repeating — everything can be made vegetarian or vegan including the gravy! Great plate of fluffy biscuits with all the trimmings and toppings you could want with biscuits. We walked a good amount from South Congress to get there but it was worth it. Price point won’t hurt the wallet and your tummy will definitely be satisfied.

Mmmmmmm… you can’t go here everyday, or every week, or even every month — I mean you could but 3 biscuits, smothered with gravy, potatoes, thick sliced peppered maple bacon, sausage, and colby jack cheese(if you ordered the Johnny Hash) with added jalapeños may not be the way you want to regularly start your morning. In my dreams… yes — definitely how I would start every morning — but in real life I need to save this stop for Indulgent special occasions. And in the meantime I will continue to dream about these biscuits and gravy. Service was outstanding — but they definitely could use more than one person manning the truck!

My son wanted to go someplace other than our regular two or three breakfast places(Mi Madres, Trudy’s, Cherrywood Coffee House) — so we came to the South Biscuits and Groovy. He had been to the north trailer a few years ago. Bottom line — I think that if you go to a trailer — you should have good food, fast service and low price. We got one of the three today. The food was quite good, hot, fresh, tasty. The coffee was good. Really no complaints here. We waited probably 25 to 30 minutes — with no coffee — nothing. Sitting at a picnic table in the humid heat. Not wonderful. The two employees were doing the best they could do — but there was a steady line of customers. And — really? $ 25 for biscuits, some gravy, a couple pieces of bacon and two coffees? Not cheap at all. So — yeah — my one word review would be «meh» — not a great experience. I can’t imagine going back.

When I saw that this food truck only sold biscuits, I was a little skeptical. But trust me: you will not be disappointed! They make the biscuits from scratch and then top them with cheese, potatoes, eggs, jalapeños, bacon, sausage, and more. Vegetarian? Don’t worry: they have veggie bacon and sausage options that are also homemade. The guy running the truck was very friendly which is always a plus. If I lived in Austin I would definitely make this a regular breakfast stop.

Outstanding! I couldn’t finish it but this place is a must if you’re visiting Austin! Anything on the menu can be made vegan or vegetarian!

The wait for Biscuits and Groovy can seem realllly long when you arrive hungry and there’s a line in front of you. I came at 10:50am on a Saturday morning, there were 3 people ahead of me in line and I got my food at 11:20am. I usually cut food trucks a break though since they’re cooking inside a trailer but I was ready to get really annoyed because the couple behind me had gotten their food ahead of me(despite ordering the exact same thing as me). When our order showed up, the cashier was really apologetic and gave us 2 free bottles of cold water, explaining that our ticket had gotten mixed up in the line. Great service! Onto the food: we tried the Gloria Gaynor($ 11) and the Johnny Hash($ 10). These were both HUGE orders of food; if you’re not a heavy breakfast kind of person, then definitely share or get a half order. I loved them both though: fluffy but dense biscuits covered in flavorful savory gravy topped with sausage, bacon, cheese and chives. The Gaynor also came with scrambled eggs and jalapeños while the Hash came with fried potatoes. Everything was very well done… biscuit and gravy nirvana. Would definitely be back if I were craving biscuits and gravy… which is all the time.

Wow… this was actually delicious. I am impressed with how something as simple as biscuits and gravy can become something so mouth watering. Anything on their menu can be made vegan(you can ask for vegan meat replacement free of charge) and prices are extremely reasonable! Their tax is included in the price so when the menu says $ 4 it really is $ 4! The Mc hammer is great if you just want to have 1 biscuit but if you want a bigger meal, the others have 3 biscuits. They ask you to park in the neighborhood area so there may be a tiny bit of a walk. It is near Flightpath coffeehouse so you can get coffee with your extremely fluffy biscuits too! I went Sunday around 12 and there were a bunch of people so there was a wait(20 – 30 min) for the food. But still, it was worth it!

Four words: 1. BISCUITS 2. AND 3. GROOVY 4. EVAN(yes, I realize that it is really 3 words and a name) This place is awesome. I am beyond happy that this delicious breakfast spot is in walking distance of my home. The price is fair(especially because the portions are big enough to feed 2!). How could I forget about the orange juice… Wowza! This OJ is the best in town. I guarantee it. If you don’t enjoy your OJ from biscuits and groovy, then something is fundamentally and morally wrong with the core of your soul. Enough about the food… EVANROCKSTHEHOUSE! He is Mr. Groovy himself. He is such a great guy and he is one of the most genuine people I have met in my recent years. I would almost go as far to say that he is the groove to my biscuit. See you guys again tomorrow! And then the day after. And the day after that, too. :)

I love biscuits and gravy. I rarely order them because most places do them wrong. The biscuits are usually old and crusty and the gravy is either weak and thin or overpowering. Biscuits and groovy does it *right*. The biscuits. MMMTHEBISCUITS. They’re soft and fluffy, just how they should be. The gravy is savory and creamy without dominating the meal. Then you add toppings and its game over. I do wish there were more toppings per order. Seemed like it was only a few potatoes on mine. Would have balanced out the meal more. Doesn’t stop me from giving 5 stars. Yummmm.

First the food; it is downright delicious. You have many different variations of preparation, including a vegetarian option that I have not had. You can get ½ orders and that is plenty unless that is going to be your meal for the day. This is real stick to your ribs stuff here Bubba! Of course you need to have Jalapenos added for your vegetable. They are clean, very kind and friendly. There is not much more to say. You don’t even need glasses to read the descriptions. Just point or say a number and whatever comes out will be good. Will I be back? You bet. Yum.

Actually thought of this place on a Saturday afternoon when it’s open! Most of the time I decide to look at my Unilocal bookmarks are when it’s dinner time, so naturally I thought, IT’S TIME. Biscuits + Groovy is located in a food truck park, which is super appropriate given that it’s a food truck. I ordered the Village Biscuits, which comes with biscuits and gravy(obviously) topped with sausage, jalapenos, cheese, and chives. TBH, all the item menus sound pretty similar, just with one or two added or switched out toppings. I got my order to go, so I could enjoy my food in the comforts of my own home(and not outside in the cold weather). However, a little detour was made, and the food wasn’t quite as hot when I got to enjoy it :(BUT, my biscuits and gravy were still delicious! It’s not too salty, and the toppings added the right amount of flavor to the biscuits and gravy. This food truck has a very simple concept, and it’s doing it absolutely right. Recommend trying this out! I would definitely come back! PS. You can order ½(half) orders! I did not know this when I originally came, but I might keep it into consideration the next time I go.

I’ve been here twice in two weeks– this place is amaze. I usually stick with the basic biscuit with bacon/eggs and one additional biscuit with the most amazing strawberry jam I’ve ever had in my life. The fiancé got the biscuits with the gravy, potatoes and fried chicken. OMG. it was divine. One of my fave places for breakfast in Austin! And the owners are awesome.

Drove all this way to come here, and at 11 am the place is closed. Sign says open 9am-2pm. No information like«hey we will be back» or «open tomorrow, Sorry for the inconvenience». Nothing. Unprofessional. I’m not happy. Wasted time, gas, and I’m starving. Not cool!

We braved the cold to check this place out, my friends said it was great and it didn’t disappoint. I stuck to the regular biscuits and groovy(gravy). It seems like everything else on the menu is just a step up from the regular biscuits and gravy with sausage, like they add eggs or cheese or bacon or all 3(heart attack waiting to happen though) My plain Jane choice was delicious! My friends got the MC hammer sandwich and they loved it. Also tried their fresh peach jam– yessss. And the fresh squeezed OJ was worth the $ 3! Lady was very friendly, so was the guy that brought out our food. Which we promptly took, returned to our cars, to eat at home! But this is a neat lil south Austin food trailer park and I’d go back when the weather is nice!

Confession — I have never had«biscuits» and gravy ever. Laugh all you want at that statement. If you’re done laughing, scroll on down and read this rest of this review. Spoiler alert: this review contains excessive use of double quotes. First off, I found out that«biscuits» are not cookies. In my defense, I grew up at a Commonwealth nation where biscuits are actually butter cookies that you eat with tea. Second, I also found out that«biscuits» were baked with bacon fat. Third, I discovered that Biscuits and Groovy made vegetarian(buttermilk sans bacon fat) and vegan(almond milk) «biscuits» and«gravy.» Yay! Since the Duval location was«swamped»(as the guy on the phone said) we called the South location ahead of time, anticipating a mad line situation. Not being aware of the existence of vegetarian biscuits and gravy at the time, we got the vegan stuff — with vegan bits and things that«biscuits» normally have. 35 minutes later, we got to the food trailer park, and thankfully our food was ready. It was also when we found out that the order didn’t necessarily have to be vegan. Just as we started digging into those layers of vegan cheese and vegan meat, the girl at the truck brought out the vegetarian stuff for us to try out. This was very very cool on her part– and thoroughly impressed us in any case. The food itself is amazingly tasty– albeit being excessively heavy. At $ 11, there are 3 biscuits with your choice of eggs, potatoes, vegan bacon bits(seitan/soy), vegetarian gravy, and jalapenos. I now fully understand the meaning of soul food. I do. I did feel rather fat after eating the whole portion over the course of the entire day, but I was weirdly satisfied. If the Duval location isn’t too busy, I may not travel all the way to slaughter for this stuff. But if Duval is «swamped», I will most definitely go back to Slaughter, eat this stuff and not care about the approximately 2000 calories I consume.

Go now! Currently this spot is all of the wonderful deliciousness that is the OBG but the lines are shorter.(It’s literally the only way Biscuits and Groovy could get better!) I went on a Tuesday around 11 am, because I had a friend in town that cannot come to Austin without getting her B&G fix at least once(and typically far more often that that) and this was her last day in town. We decided to try this location because it is close to my cousin’s house. He’s anti-trailer food(and obviously new to Austin), so I really had to sell it to get him to come with us. He was impressed and super happy once he took a bite. I can’t come up with a better compliment than this. As always, I had a half order of Johnny Hash(the menu items have the best names!) and was quite stuffed upon leaving. I had 2 lovely, fresh biscuits that were smothered in a warm white gravy and sprinkled with perfectly cooked potatoes, sausage and bacon. Jon knows what he’s doing. These masterpieces are works of love, made with care, just for your tastebuds. Because they are fresh, warm perfection, the food does take a little bit of time to get out to you. Plan this out. It’s worth it. Although, if I were a manager somewhere and had an employee came back from lunch late, I think I’d have to accept«I was at Biscuits and Groovy» as an acceptable reason for being late. That goes double if they brought me back some. :P

This is on the way to my daughter’s daycare so I’ve been wanting to check it out. I was always too early before. On the day where I didn’t stop, I saw that they were open. I told myself that I would wait the next time and I did. This truck is in a food truck court right next to Moon Tower. The service was great. They are so very nice. They do not take American Express but they do take everything else. I got mines to go because I had to get to work eventually. I got the donna. The menu online is old I believe. It’s $ 9 now. The order is huge, I knew this ordering it. I knew I should have gotten the MC Hammer but I wanted to see what their layout looks like. The biscuit were fluffy and delicious. The gravy was meh. The eggs were eggs. The sausage was skimpy. It’s definitely better than say, Chickfila’s biscuits and gravy. I would come back here whenever I get a biscuit and gravy craving. It’s convenient and it’s homemade.
