This place! I just want to take the time to say«thank you Jesus» for whoever invented this place. Thank you Lord! Amen. When I first tried this place I was a little skeptical but I was like agh what the hell with it. So I went and mmmmm mmmm mm my God those burgers are seasoned to perfection. And those delicious crunchy fries I want some now just thinking about it. But it’s a little on the pricey side. It’s worth it though! The shop gives you a nice little beach feel. And there’s different variety of foods but the number one suggestion is the bleu cheese burger! What’s that you say? You haven’t tried it? Are you out of your mind?! Get up off your butt and go get you that burger! Why are you still reading this review?! You don’t know what your missing. Okay that is all bye.

Drove by this place plenty of times and now wish I would have kept doing so. Wife and I stopped here for dinner one evening after shopping across the way at HEB. We were lucky enough to stop during their«Summer Happy Hour» where all the food was ½ off. I wasn’t sure if I should take that as it was a good sign or possibly due to sluggish sales. had to offer ½ off. Either way, the price was right for the moment. Both the Employees working greeted us with a smile and were quite friendly. We both ordered their signature bacon/avocado burger and split a cheese fry. The burger patties tasted like they were prepared prior, as they had a dry bland taste to them, as if they had been frozen. The Burger was EXTRA well done(no I did not order it like that), so any flavor it once had was lost long ago. Bacon was cooked well and was not burnt. I never found the avocado? I think maybe it was absorbed by the burger, hopelessly searching to flavor itself. Their sign said, «Americas Best Fries!» .or something cheesy like that. So I figured, OK these must be just fries to die for? Not sure how they were supposed to be prepared, but I saw the Cook grab an already existing pile of soggy cut potatoes from one basket and toss them in a basket to deep fry. Not impressed. The fries were soggy, oily as hell, bland, and the shredded cheese they covered them in and microwaved just made the situation worse. +1 — Exceptionally friendly Employees +1 — Price –1 — Bland –1 — Overcooked –1 — Fries tasted like butt Come on Boardwalk. this is Austin. You cannot expect to compete AND stay in business around here serving this food. Lots of potential was squandered in the prep and delivery of the food.

The burger was nothing spectacular, but the funnel fries were mmmmmmmm good! Second time trying here and the first time about 6 months ago, the burgers seem a lot larger. :/Disappointed that it was equivalent to something I could just toss together in a hurry. $ 10 for a burger for that quality ??? Sorry, no.

I come down to the Austin area often to visit friends and family. Every time I’m around P-Ville or north Austin I swing in for a bite. These are the burgers I’d make of I wasn’t too lazy to make an awesome burger. And seriously, who would drive 3 hours for some Funnel Cake Fries? Looking forward to trying the Lamar location next time I’m in town.

I came here on a whim, gave them $ 11.59, and they gave me a veggie burger with cheese, fries, and a cup for the fountain Coke Zero. I didn’t find anything here worth whining about, I just can’t think of anything that made me gush either. If you enjoy that«Wasting-away-again-in-Margaritaville» motif, you’ll probably enjoy the ambiance. Different strokes. I thought my veggie burger tasted like a Morningstar Farm’s Spicy Black Bean burger, which is okay by me. But it’s my least favorite kind of veggie burger, since that smoky chipotle flavor tends to overpower everything. I should also mention I’ve been scolded for reviewing burger places based solely on their veggie burger, but I think that’s illogical — if you don’t want something judged, don’t offer it. Whatevs. So six of one, half-dozen of another — the fries are good, the dipping sauce novel, and the staff friendly. The Wifi password is «Iloveboardwalk.» If you suddenly text me with, «I demand we eat here, or I’ll sever our relationship, defriend you on social media, and tell everyone what a fat pig you really are,» I’d respond with, «Whoa, let’s just go then.» There are lots of burger places in town, and Boardwalk is okay by me.

DONOTWASTEYOURMONEY! Fries? Americas #1? Seriously? I think they REFRIED them. Disgusting. Hard. Dry. Tasted like stale grease. NO joking here. Im serious. I am so flabbergasted by the food, quality and quantity, not only will I NEVER return… I will share my HORRIBLE experience with co-workers, friends and family alike. The burger? Oh, is that what it was? It was so small, I could not really tell. The entire thing, wrapped in foil, with lettuce, tomato, pickle, bbq sauce, cheese, the bun, and the meat weighed in at 5.3 oz. YES I WEIGHEDIT… Just ridiculous. Definitely NOT worth it. Not in the least. Tasted like Burger King… dont believe me? Try it yourself. But dont be too terribly shocked when you find yourself regretting the whole decision to stop there. Mini Burger and nasty fries = $ 7.96

Love the funnel cake fries… I can eat them all day long they are so good! Burgers and hotdogs are simple and tasty made to order. The french fries are good and even better with old bay seasoning… Now I add that to all my fries and it sparked new uses for old bay I never would have tried had it not been for this place. Over all I enjoy it here. Dog friendly

I had my hopes up! But, I’ll definitely give them one more try as a dine in vs to-go. Burgers really shouldn’t be to-go, but we had to. So. I really end up disliking burger places that will only cook your burger«well». I like med-well, not med-rare, or rare, just less than well, and honestly that makes a hell of a difference. I was STOKED to see they offered a Bleu CB! As well as different bread/bun or bread/bun less choices. I was kinda excited to try the seasonings people raced about, but BLEH. Old Bay & Cajun spices mixed together was not doin it for me. I was equally turned off by the green chili ranch, or whatever it was. Fries had potential if we didn’t wait till we got home! I liked the square cut, some skin, and softer cook! Burger, well, it had great potential, I think, but it was a little dry & lacked flavor. My daughter wasn’t too thrilled with hers either. No POW to it. To-go wasn’t a fair shake, so we’ll try it one more time. Customer service tho… guy, young, was really friendly! Tuesday night I think.

This place is delicious! From the well seasoned burgers to the old bay seasoning on every table! Coming from someone who has lived close to the East Coast most of her life and spending a lot of time on the Boardwalk of Ocean City, Maryland, this place is as close to genuine Boardwalk fries as you can get in Austin! I ordered my burger(the small one) added my toppings, blue cheese, avocado, mayo, white onions, chipolte sauce and pickles! I opted for the lettuce wrap instead of the bun but you can get white or wheat! The fries are unbelievable!!! Crisped to perfection! They have a condiment station complete with Ketchup and what is labeled«sauce»! For anyone who doesn’t know that«sauce» is common on the East Coast and is made with the Old Bay seasoning and meant for dipping your fries in! They also give you vinegar on the table which is an East Coast fry stand staple! I felt like I was home for a minute eating here! The flavors were amazing for a quick serve dining restaurant! Thank you Boardwalk Burgers and Fries, you nailed it!!! DOGFRIENDLYPATIO: I also wanted to mention that I saw some dog bowls out on their patio with water in them so, I do believe they are dog friendly on the patio!

The ahi tuna and avocado sandwich was the smallest piece of tuna I’ve ever seen and looked a little mangled. It was ok. Over cooked despite asking for medium. For $ 7.50 I’m feeling pretty jiped as there was no fries included with it. The husbands burger was a little dry but good. I’m definitely not in love with this place. Will try one more time.

2 miles from home *star* Yummy fries *star* Oreo milk shake *star* Burger half a star Service *3 stars* Yeah they were that good! Pretty darn awesome! It’s not hopdoddy It’s not an arch burger It’s also not a long line wait, shy on location, nor is it on every corner. Could the burgers be heartier sure but that’s not what they promised and I’m not complaining.

I’m excited to see Boardwalk make its way to Austin. Living in Virginia and Maryland, I am very familiar with their awesome fries! I’ve never had their burgers. It’s a great little storefront and a nice addition to the Tech Ridge shopping center. It’s a simple ordering system. Pick your patty. Pick your size. Pick your bun or opt for the lettuce wrap. A variety of toppings are available fro free and are add-ons. The burger was pretty standard. The toppings seemed to overwhelm the patty. I’ll try it again, but next time I will go simple and avoid all the toppings. Basic is hopefully better. The fries are awesome. I have always loved Boardwalk fries. Fried perfectly crispy. LIghtly seasoned to allow the diner to season at the table with Old Bay. Old Bay… mmmmmmmmm. There is a massive container of Old Bay at every table with a bottle of apple cider vinegar. I liberally dosed the fries with vinegar and let the Old Bay flow! Oh, the memories! I will absolutely return for the fries! My one and only complaint is the staff. They are extremely friendly and informative, but way too intrusive. I understand they are there to market and promote, but it felt like they took turns tag teaming us asking if we wanted to sign up for rewards programs, encouraging us to try other menu items, telling us how to eat the fries… etc etc. I really appreciate the effort, but please… I just want to eat and not be bothered every couple minutes. Their constant hovering really made my visit a bit uncomfortable. I will definitely be back for the fries and to give the burgers another shot! Boardwalk is a welcome new neighbor in my neighborhood!

The chili cheese fries were good… First of all don’t look at the menu on line and think these people will provide it. This is a newer establishment in our hood and when the Unilocal!review didn’t have a menu link(i made the mistake of looking it up on Google) to decide what i wanted. Pretty basic stuff. I will take the bleu cheese burger please! The bf comes home with a burger that is missing ingredients and cooked wrong. i was not happy. The meat patties were … gross. Thin and not uniform in any way. Falling apart, even. Also completely devoid of flavor. The boy tried to make excuses for them, but if you are going to franchise a restaurant, know what you are supposed to be serving, k? thanks. i won’t be going back or recommending.

The hubs and I tried Boardwalk last week, shortly after they opened. We live just a few miles away, and were definitely looking forward to having a local place to have some great burgers. The service was top notch here — everyone was so friendly and helpful. I hope they continue to be this way, even years down the road. We both opted for burger combos. My husband got the larger combo, and I got the smaller one. I’m really glad I got the small one — I was stuffed to the point of almost being sick when I was finished. As we waited for our food, I got to customize my root beer, since they have of those fancy Coke machines that lets you create whatever soda flavor you like. I always love those machines… I guess I’m easily amused. :p One of the employees told us that they’re going to be getting their liquor license so that they’ll be able to serve beer on the premises soon. Woo! Our food came out, and looked amazing. The fries come in cups, which are somewhat insulated so that they keep your fries warm. The girl behind the counter said that the owners prefer to see people leave the fries in the cups so that they stay warm, instead of getting all cold and greasy on the tray. Good tip! Speaking of the fries, they were super crispy and delicious. I wonder if they double fry them?(Flash fry, then deep fry, to make they extra crispy.) The burger was juicy, and had lots of toppings. I was pleased. I think the only improvement that could be made would be to add a little more seasoning to the meat. I love lots of flavor! All in all, this is a great lil’ burger joint, and a nice alternative to Five Guys/Mighty Fine/Whataburger/Fran’s/Dan’s. Welcome to Austin, Boardwalk!

IN N Out… you have some competition… not really because you aren’t in Austin but id you were this new burger joint will give you a run for your money! Coca cola swooners do not miss… There fan coke machine that looks retro and let’s you customize up to 6 flavors for each different coke product(yummy diet vanilla cherry)! On the the meat of the matter… Burger was fresh and delicious and custom made to order with personalized toppings. Fries were natural fresh cut and delighted my taste buds Clean and fantastically friendly staff made this my new fave for burgers!
