Jason asured me that they will do the job right to trust him of course had to pay for NEW drums, rear brakes shoes Warranty fee, Rear brakes shoes hardware had to pay $$$$$$$ But on Friday my brakes were smoking and locking up again.

I made an appointment online for 11:30 on 8÷7÷2015. My car was not even looked at until 1. After that, the guy in charge called me back twice to tell me it was going to be more expensive. He then said it would be done at 3:30. I returned at 3:50 and patiently watched my car go untouched while on the lift until 4:30. After I had to ask ask, he has told me that it would be another 35 minutes before done… I could tell it wasn’t even being worked on because the guy ran into the pole scrambling because of how panicked he became. I am assuming that appointments mean nothing to brake check. I am glad I didn’t purchase any warranties because I don’t want to spend any more time in this or any break check lobby.

I was so stressed out going in thinking the worst was wrong with my car. Although I ended up spending more than I anticipated the savings were AMAZING. The manager knew I was on a tight budget and worked with me the best he could, he saved me roughly $ 150! I got there right when they opened so the wait was ONLY about 2 hours total! Although appointment is highly suggested and can save you even more $. These guys are honest and very excellent at customer service! Glad I have a warranty on my brakes and routers, will gladly return for checkups/​regular maintenance :) Shout out to management!

I went to get my oil changed and my headlight fixed. The young man named Roy was very polite, explained things to me, and they did a good job. Thank’s Roy you deserve a raise.

This Brake Check is terrible. We had some belts replaced 4 months ago at this location and they started to squeek and squeal so I took it in this morning to have it looked at. Mind you, this was at 855am. I finally got the car back at 2pm after waiting for them to replace the belts. Drove 10 miles, and on my way home, the squeeks and squeals started again, but with a vengeance. I got to the intersection of 35 and william cannon and the whole car died, at the light, during rush hour. The alternator belt snapped off. I called them, and they had a technician come out to replace the belt on the side of the road, but it took him 45 min to get there, and then another 2 hours to install the new belt. In the processs, he had to break a lugnut off the wheel because they cross threaded it when putting it back on at the shop. We dropped the car back off at 6pm b/​c even with the new belt, the belts were still malfunctioning. It is now 830pm and we still haven’t heard from them… this is rediculous… NEVER AGAIN. To their credit, the people working there are very nice, just bad techs.

Stay away from this place. I took my car in on 2÷14÷2015. I had brake issues but my car was still drive able. They charged me $ 500, the very next day my car was still doing the same thing but now it’s shaking. I called them and they tell me to bring it back. I took it back 2÷16÷2015. Russle the service manager said he would find out what was going on. Later he calls and tells me he found the problem and it was going to be $ 150 more to fix. He also informed me he gave me a discount because I had to bring the car back, a whopping $ 9.98. I was assured the car was fixed this time. The car ran fine on the way home. The next day on my way to work my brakes would lock up or were very slow to engage. I almost rear ended a car. I called Russle and explained what was going on. his reply was that I had an old car. Now I’m out $ 650 and a car. Out of that $ 650, $ 400 was labor. Please do not go there.

Very slow service, took over three hours for an alignment. The people were nice enough though.

My driver’s side wiper suddenly would not move across the windshield all the way during the rain on Saturday. It would try to move but only a few inches. After pulling over, we discovered it could be moved when it should not have. This indicated to me something was loose and not a motor issue.
I was near this Brake Check location, so I slowly made my way there and asked if they could check to see if something was loose. They wanted to hook it up for a diagnostic at $ 75, telling me that if the motor needed to be replaced the charge would go toward repairs.
I specifically told them I could have my OnStar do that for free and I could tell them the code, if there was one. I did not believe there would be a code for a something loose on a wiper. I asked why someone couldn’t just look at it without doing the diagnostic, he told me they had to get paid for doing something. I am not an idiot and know it would not cost $ 75 to tighten something up, so I left and slowly made my way home. A 26 mile trip in the rain.
Took the car to the dealer this morning, it was a loose bolt and they only charged me $ 22. Brake Check completely missed an opportunity to gain a new customer because it was all about how much money they could get me to pay. Because of this statement, I am pretty sure they would have said it was the motor to get more money. I was willing to pay for a repair, even a small amount to just look at it. But not for $ 75!

Don’t get fooled by the good reviews, despite the 10% discount for making an appointment, there’s absolutely nothing good to say about this place. The brakes I got squeeled all the way to Denver. Then drove back and went to another mechanic in austin. They felt damp and squeeled every single time I pressed, it got embarrassing.
The mechanic at another place mentioned that I must have the cheapest brake pads possible installed. Got them replaced elsewhere and no more noise. What a waste of money. Don’t come here.
Staff is nice, but honestly the product sucks.

I have taken my dodge truck into this Brake Check location twice. I do not know much about vehicles, but I have friends and family that know everything there is. This location was so helpful and in no way tried to tack on meaningless problems or charges.
As far as the bad reviews go for this location, it is such a friendly and helpful one that sometimes you will have to wait a little longer than expected if you want the best.

I was completely impressed with this shop! Very friendly staff. I worked with Juan Forero and service couldn’t have been better.
I had an alignment done and my car inspected after a small accident. They were honest and didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need.
Juan sat down next to me at the end and went step by step through the repair until I understood how everything works.
What a relief that I found this place!
Oh, alignment was $ 64.99 and a lifetime is only $ 129.99. I’m moving to California but if you are from Texas, jump on that deal!

I’ve lived in Austin, Texas since 1988 and have learned from years of experience to always take my vehicles to Brake Check (Store #415). Today I picked up my Toyota Tacoma and the level of service (again) was exceptional. «EJ» was very careful to look my truck over, provide a recommendation & then perform the work in a timely manner. After a very stressful night with an ER visit took my Mother-​N-​Laws car to pick up their pills and to my surprise the breaks did some crazy things stopping leaving the pharmacy. Did a quick search for the nearest Brake place for they needed it repaired quickly for her to drive to the orthopedic doctor next week. Called Brake Check and talked with Jeremy. Explained what was going on that the sensor has been going for about a month and it did a grinding thing stopping on a grade when leaving Walgreen’s. We were expecting a HUGE bill and problems. But they were so honest the rotors were not ruined yet they cleaned up the breaks and the pads and all is good. Had it completed within a few hours. When we picked it up Josh was so pleasant with us and Jeremy came out and wished us the best with the entire medical situation. Very Very considerate and honest employee’s there. Thanks for helping relieve some stress with the compassion and honesty. My n-​laws will be utilizing them from now on! AND Josh told you I would post it on Unilocal since all of you were so WONDERFUL!

set up an appointment to get brakes checked 20% off. they inspected the brakes and let me know how much it was and they recommended what they thought would be needed if i liked to fix at that time. didnt feel pressured to purchase anything and left knowing i had been given a fair price for a great job!!! will return for oil changes!!!

My brakes were more than worn in the rear and he helped me save as much money as possible while still repairing everything I needed to. They took my car in a timely manner (I made an appointment) and even gave me the 20% labor discount from online appointment setting. I went home while they repaired my car. They called with any other charges they were recommending for me and I really appreciated that. I knew exactly how much I owed when I walked in, and what else I needed to do to get my car in perfect running condition.
I visited this place when it first opened with a car I used to own, and they were great then as well.
I appreciate the consistent service I’ve received and will definitely go back to them.

My accord was shuddering more and more when I hit the brakes, I could hear the brakes dragging, and I they occasionally squealed pretty bad. I decided to take it in finally, expecting to hear that I would need «the works» and planned on getting a few estimates. I went here first. They inspected my car, took me into their shop to show me the condition of everything, and told me I only needed basic service and only on the front-​end. Pads, rotor resurface, new hardware, and bleed/​flush the brake-​lines for 200 bucks. Pretty good deal so I took it. Three weeks later and I still have no squealing, dragging, or shudder. And if you go to their website and make an appointment at least 3 days in advance you get 20% off!

I have spent two days here. The first was supposed to be 20 – 30 minutes, and it took over an hour. Then they tried to tell me I couldn’t have my car back because it needed the work done today. Bullocks. That was Josh. Buzzed hair and glasses.
I do need the work done, so I called a couple of places today. I was able to talk this one down the most, and saved over $ 100 off the original
So, I came in, and was told it wouldn’t take too long. So my husband and I decided to wait. Four and a half hours later, we were told it would still be another hour and a half. Probably would have been a quick job if anyone was actually at the car for more than two seconds at a time. They all huddle behind a section of brick wall that hides them from view, where they’re grouped around a computer.
There’s nothing nearby, no one stays in the waiting room (Chance, who seems to be the receptionist who is constantly dipping, is the one controlling the mouse on the computer in the back), and they NEVER check on you or give you updates. There is no coffee in the pot, and even if there were, the creamer is empty, and a crusty box of brown sugar (seriously?!) lies open on the little counter. Gross.
I should have just paid the extra money and gotten it done at CarMax. At least the coffee is fresh there and they offer you a shuttle to anywhere in a five mile radius and will then pick you back up when your car is ready.

Nearly three weeks later, my brakes still sound like I’m killing a litter of kittens. And my ABS and brake lights are still on. Have been since day one. I got a feedback call, and when I told the woman about my experience, she said a Mr. Lozcano or something similar who was the regional manager would call me immediately. Nothing yet, and it’s been three weeks. These people are a bunch of lazy, lying scumbags.

Guys are real friendly. They took me out and showed me what was up with my tires, let me look under and see exactly where the oil leak came from. They alinged me, changed my oil and fixed the leak. My car has been running much smoother with better gas mileage. Their lifetime alignment deal is a steal. You twice the amount of one alignment, and you have free alignments for the life of the car with only a $ 3 surcharge each time you come in. They have great customer service and professional mechanics, so, why not.
