Caliber Collision

Had a horrendous and nightmarish experience here and will warn others about coming here. To make a long story short, I got into a small accident (damage pictured below.) Nothing major, just a dented rear door, other small dents and scratches. My insurance company recommended working with Caliber which is why we selected this location. They provided courteous and quick service when dropping off and checking in the vehicle.
Because of the age of the vehicle, my insurance company put our claim at a total loss. This is because the price to repair the car ($ 5,500) exceeded the value of the car ($ 5,300.) No biggie, our insurance company gave us an agreeable payout and we decided on performing the repairs ourselves. We understand that the car had to be disassembled to determine if there was further interior damage which wasn’t our complaint.
The major issue here is how they returned our car to us. They completely damaged my car way worse than the actual accident. The door was completely butchered, cut open with wires dangling out and the window sunken inside. There were pieces of the car that I couldn’t identify thrown inside the car. There were also all kinds of other pieces strewn inside the trunk of the car. We couldn’t understand why they did not reassemble the car. When we expressed our concern, we were told that there was nothing else they can do for us because the claim was completed with our insurance. To make things worse, the car was absolutely filthy being coated with a thick sheet of dirt.
Anyhow, the lady reassured us that the car should be completely safe to drive. When we got home, we realized that the brake lights were off and they never even bothered to reconnect them putting our lives in danger. This was completely unforgivable. We have never experienced anything of this magnitude before. They further damaged our car and didn’t even reassemble it which is even more painful considering that my insurance company paid them to do this.
Luckily we found a place called Two Day Body Shop off of 1143 Airport Blvd. He was able to restore our car perfectly for less than half the price that Caliber estimated ($ 2,400.) He was even shocked when he saw what Caliber did to our car. They restored it very quickly and were courteous enough to reassemble all the things Caliber took apart. They performed a perfect restoration and even cleaned our car while providing amazing customer service. In Texas, you have a say so on where to repair your car at. Don’t make the same mistake that I did and take it to a place that is going to overcharge you to further damage your vehicle and possibly put you at safety risk. Hate having to give this place even one star, never again!

When you have an appointment to get a repair estimate, and you take off of work to get the estimate, and you’re made to wait before even being helped, you end up taking your business elsewhere. Poor customer service.

I had a rear end collision that was to be covered by another insurance and I took it to this Caliber location. The service from the get go was excellent and they kept me updated about my car throughout the entire process. Everyone was polite and assured me that I would be satisfied. Unfortunately when I got the car back, I noticed swirls and scratches in the final product that they apologized for and fixed. However upon closer inspection, It was very obvious the paint did not match at all and the body lines were skewed from their original locations. They seemed to be quite confused why the quality was not up to par and said they would redo all the repairs, but I’m wondering how it got through the final checkup in the first place. Fortunately, Caliber does offer a lifetime guarantee and I had my car re-​repaired at a different Caliber location which matched everything perfectly. I cannot trust the workmanship and skills of the technicians to ever recommend or go back to this location.

I had awesome service here! I set an appointment to get my car fixed and they set it a week out from the day I called to give them time to order the parts, when I brought my car in they were ready for me and already had the parts needed, they called Enterprise and let them know I was there, I only waited about 2 minutes. The lady at the front desk was super nice and on top of everything she had my paper work all together as well, they told me it would be ready on Friday and they finished a day early, it was ready on Thursday, which was really nice. My husband went and picked up my car and just got home and I went to take a look at it. It looks AMAZING! They even cleaned my whole car inside and out and the bumper looks brand new again. Thank y’all!!! Hopefully I never need to come back but if I do need my car fixed I will come here.

The manner in which Caliber does business can only be described as strange. I went in for an estimate, which I felt was very low. I went at the suggestion of the insurance company as they are one of their preferred providers. The amount they arrived at for the damage was exactly $ 1 below my deductible.
Since I felt the damage was much more, I took it to several competitors, none able to come close to the original estimate of Caliber. Upon returning to Caliber, they conceded that they couldn’t do it for that amount either. Nor, would they be willing to work on it at all. I asked what had changed from before they were ready to schedule the work and then a short time later unable to work on it at all.
The receptionist said she had no explanation.
When it comes to car repairs, if you’re as concerned about quality workmanship and outstanding assessment and evaluation skills as I am, you could find another repair facility in Austin that might be better than this.

I had been in a collision, and was illegal due to a broken headlamp and blinker, but
they did not seem to care very much. They scheduled me for 3 weeks out. I called
the Caliber on South Lamar and even though they were booked up, they made a
space for me since I was driving around illegally. Much more friendly at the South Lamar location. Sarah, the women who runs the front desk, was great, vs the girls
who ran the desk at Braker. Not friendly.

My wife backed into a car. She was worried but I said «Shhh… It happens». :-)
We found out about Caliber through our insurance company who works directly with them. I took the car in for an initial estimate and the chap who took a look placed a lot of attention to detail. He was concerned about getting all the fixtures for the rear bumper perfectly replaced.
Anyway, the paperwork went through smoothly and my wife dropped off her car. Easy system and the folks he took her and my kids to the car rental firm. Great!
Car was repaired very quickly and it looked awesome. They even braved the car’s interior where our kids hide junk food remains and candy wrappers and cleaned it out! Upon pickup, they arranged for delivery of the rental back to the rental firm, and my wife and kids could just go home!
Great staff, great work — highly recommended!

Great experience, would absolutely recommend this place for anybody’s body work. Jody (store manager, I think) was probably about the best I’ve ever experienced at keeping me up-​to-​date on what was going on with my truck. Car problems suck, and so it’s easy to sometimes walk into a body shop already in a bad mood — Jody totally alleviates that feeling, is up front about everything and really sends you on your way with a comfort level that’s hard to find with some repair /​body shops.

The car came out the wrong color the first time II went to pick it up. The portion of the vehicle that was fixed was an entirely different color than the rest of the car — TWO TONE. The car was tied for a week for a simple bumper fender bender. I had to return a week later after the dealership discovered the wiring harness had been cut in the trunk with the repair, which delayed the state inspection (license plate lights were not working). Caliber repaired it, but I had to take time to return to the shop and of course, they denied doing this when it was in for collision repair. The car was never in an accident before, and I certainly did not cut the wiring harness. I am not impressed with Caliber, even though personnel were nice and friendly.

No complaints at all. I was rear-​ended in Round Rock and the other driver’s insurance was paying. This shop was on my/​his (same company) insurance’s preferred list and had good reviews, so I went with that. Frank was always very nice and enthusiastic, and called me a couple of times a week with updates. Early on they gave me an anticipated time frame, and it ended up being done I *think* a little sooner than expected. The whole back end of my hatchback was done for, so at the start they let me expect that it was going to take a while. I got it back yesterday and so far so good, and it looks as good as new! They also have a lifetime guarantee on their work, so in case there IS any issue with the repair, I can call them to check it out.

Caliber did a great job working with Nationwide and BMW to get my car back to pristine condition in a relatively short amount of time. Great service during and after the repair; good attention to detail and great response to feedback. Hard to believe how happy I was with a situation that I expected to be really frustrating.
Credit goes towards Caliber’s obvious commitment to customers being thrilled with their repairs and specifically to Jessica, the CSR assigned to my repair.
I’ll definitely go back for any future repairs, and I would recommend Caliber to friends and family.

Just got my car back and I’m pleased with the repairs. It took them a while to get it done, but there were a lot of cars being taken in the same day I took mine in. I was covered by insurance for a rental, so it really was not an inconvenience.
I found the staff to be helpful and professional. While I certainly hope I never need to use them again, I can certainly recommend them.

I just had my 2^nd repair done at Caliber and I was very impressed by the service and attention I received there. The staff was kind and clear about what work they were to do and they stayed in touch with e-​mail status updates. My car was ready a day earlier than promised too and that was a nice surprise.
I can highly recommend them if you need bodywork done on your car.

I just love this shop. I had not one but TWO cars repaired here in one month! My first trip to their shop got my repeat business a couple of weeks later. They are very nice and helpful. No one enjoys getting their cars smooshed by others and going through these guys made the entire experience tolerable. My cars came back in better than before condition. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to deal with an honest group of professionals. Thanks guys!

Probably the worst body shop ever. They put on a bumper that didn’t fit my car’s make and now the trunk lid doesn’t close correctly. I will go back and ask them to refix but I hate to waste any more time over their poor workmanship. I cannot imagine that they didn’t know about the trunk issue after they put on a new bumper. Just that they didn’t want to order the right size bumper again and do it all over again. So they didn’t bother to tell us about it when we went to pick it up. Please beware.

I came here after someone did a hit and run on my car in the parking lot.
It was pretty much a simple rear bumper fix, but they did an awesome job. Not only was it really fast (~24 hours in the shop), but they also washed the car, shined the tires, and vacuumed the inside. My car looked brand new!
They did say that getting the fix done so quickly was unusual, so don’t get your hopes up too high for such a fast repair.
Another plus is that they have a lifetime guarantee on the repair.
Finally, the customer service was very friendly and professional. Some other repair places over-​compensate and come off too informal. The front desk, estimator, and the guy who ended up giving the keys back were all very courteous and helpful. I felt completely taken care of.
As for pricing, I can’t say much one way or the other. I didn’t really care since my insurance was paying for it.

Wish I’d taken my car here previously. Great service, the staff communicate with you frequently and respond quickly, and they get your work done quickly.
Not only that, but I took my car in to have a window replaced and some door trim fixed, and they detailed my car before I picked it up. How cool is that?
I can’t remember the last time a body shop cleaned my car (inside and out, I might add) after working on it — I thought service perks like that were a thing of the past.
I’ll definitely bring my car back here if I ever need a body shop.

If you drive a car like mine, which means that you obviously have a big ol’ honkin’ BULLSEYE on the back of your (petite) SUV’s tire cover with a HIT ME in the center, chances are some doofus (or three) is going to hit your car in Austin. Despite my fastidious use of turn signals and brakes, I guess that people are too entranced listening to John Aielli to pay attention to the road. You switch insurance information and call that mofo’s customer service line at which point you find out they are still a valid, paying customer. Hopefully.
At which point, if you’re lucky, their insurance company will send you to Caliber Collision Center. Or they don’t have insurance, in which case your collision insurance might cover it or you might have to pay for it out of pocket. I’d recommend them in all three circumstances, because their prices seemed reasonable given the damage to my car each time.
To be honest, the two repairs I’ve had at Caliber, one at this East Braker location and one at the South Lamar location, were both stellar. They worked well with Enterprise Rental when I had to get a rental car, and they were fastidious about calling me every evening with my car’s progress. By the time they’re done, I can never tell that my tire’s rim was bumped, the back panel of my car was dented in or my bumper was smashed (dependent on the height of the car whose driver was texting behind me at the time). Keep it classy, Austin drivers.

These guys do excellent work, and quickly. I was rear-​ended (ahem) and although the guy originally wanted to not go through his insurance company, he ended up having them pay for the work as it was a bit too pricey. My ride (which I was on the cusp of selling) was a 2002 Subaru Outback and now the rear bumper looks brand new, with zero scratches or dings, which will certainly help resale value.
They kept me in the loop daily on the status of parts ordering and the overall repair and, perhaps the most surprising (and best) part was how clean they left the vehicle inside and out. If you run into a need for body repair, definitely give Caliber a call, plus there’s an Enterprise rent-​a-​car two blocks away from this location.

Had them replace my bumper after I got rear-​ended. They did a great job — car looked like new and in no time! Staff is nice and pleasant to deal with. Quality work. I was really happy to get my car back looking shiny and new!
