Cantera Doors Austin

We recently had doors from Cantera installed in our house they were installed wrong and we had to pay an independent contractor to fix the job. Now we can’t even get the can of touch up paint for the doors. I looked online it appears that they have many 1 star reviews. We are extremely disappointed in the installation. We have spent almost $ 1200 fixing the mistake.

One star is too much. I have 10 doors. The process of getting them made, delivered and installed was miserable. Cantera would not communicate with our contractor. 7 latches broke and it has taken over a year to finally receive replacements.

I can one-​upsman the first reviewer. We started in November 2012 to get a Cantera door. We still have no door. Our first two contractors backed out on us and refused to continue working with Cantera.

I may have given this business more stars had they ever showed up to do the work or even do the quote correctly. This is also called «Probuild» which is apparently a regional contruction business. They sell «custom doors.» I’d call it somewhere between custom and cookie cutter for those that do not know what «custom» really means. (Welcome to polished updavid weekly/​KB homes type stuff.) The idea is nice — they supply the «custom» door from one of several door makers and also supply the contracting services. The idea is where it ends.
We received a long-​delayed quote from them (after multiple queries). The quote was not what had been discussed. After over 3 months and multiple emails we have finally given up on the idea. We never received a quote about the «custom» work that we actually wanted.
What is really pathetic about their execution is that DOORS is all they do.
If you want the same product, check the guy in Pfugerville. Unfortunately, he only has the doors. You’ll have to handle the contractor.
